When I was in Livingston (aka home) I got to see family members that I only get to see once or twice a year. My Aunt Nancy, that I used to work with at an accounting agency, came to Mom’s house while I was there. Nancy and Mom are born on the very same day, just five years apart. I will tell anyone that will sit still long enough to listen that “she” is the woman I strive to be. Kind, gentle, God-fearing, honest, etc. Basically, the woman that Proverbs 31 talks about.I had talked to my Aunt Faye earlier and told her that Joe and I would be visiting later in the day. My Grandpa that is 99 lives with her and we wanted to visit with him Saturday night. My Grandpa LOVES Joe!!! I don’t know why that Joe is his pick, but he is. Faye told Pa that Joe and I would be coming before long and asked him if he wanted to comb his hair. Pa just ignored her and went along his business. In a little bit my Aunt told him again but this time she just said that “I” was coming to visit. Pa didn’t say anything for a few minutes and then said, “Did you say that Joe is coming to visit?” They thought that was hilarious! He had heard all along but was not responding. When we got there Pa was eating and then he got up and disappeared into the bathroom for a few minutes. He finally came outside to sit where we all were and my Aunt was smiling from ear to ear. She motioned for me to notice how nice his hair looked. It was all nice and neat and freshly combed. Lol! He couldn’t have Joe seeing him disheveled. I wanted to show you how the “same” item can look completely different. I bought this top when I went to San Diego back in March. I wore the top while I was there and I even did a post on the outfit. Truthfully, I was not fond of the outcome of the outfit. It all matched but I just thought it looked off. I assumed it was because I didn’t take the pictures until the end of the day and I look like I had been rode hard and put up wet. I decided today to style the outfit a little different and see if the outcome would look better. The first thing that had to go was the spaghetti straps. I didn’t cut them off because I was afraid that I might want them later, instead, I just tucked them under my arms. Lol! I like this version MUCH better. It has a completely different feel to the outfit.
I have a new pair of earrings on today. I thought I ordered this pair earlier but I remembered taking them out of the cart for some reason. These are lightweight and easy to wear. They are called the White Drop Earrings. That name tickles me for some reason. I think it is a “DUH” moment for me. Lol! I once again have a slew of Alex and Ani bracelets on. They are so easy to slip on and I love the charms for their inspirations.I have two bracelets on both with small pearl accents. The first one is the Evie. It reminds me of little porcupines for some reason. The other bracelet is called the Lucinda. It has been a favorite since I bought it. I dropped it on my tile floor in the bathroom the other day and I heard the tell-tale noise of one of the little pearls rolling across the floor. I didn’t think I would be able to find it because I have white tile on my floor. I found it thought and went and got out my E6000 glue. I am used to wearing vintage jewelry and E6000 is a MUST. I opened it up and took a toothpick to dab a small amount of glue on the missing spot. I licked my finger and then pressed the tiny pearl on my finger and it stuck to my finger. Then I carefully deposited it in the glue and it stayed fine. I let it dry for about 5 minutes while I was putting on my shoes and then I put it back on. No problem! If you wear jewelry, you need this glue because accidents will happen.I have on the Noah Lanyard and I added the Mermaid Pendant. The pendant is two sided, on one side it says, “There are a million fish in the sea, but I’m a Mermaid” and the other side is a picture of a mermaid’s tail. I love all the dangles of a shell, starfish, and beads. I have opened a new party so make sure that you are shopping under tania11.I think the navy pants made a huge difference. The top looks different, I think it stands out more against the dark backdrop. The Navy Pixie Pants are from Old Navy and they are an ankle length. The neutral shoes are by Aerosole. I love this pair because they are so comfortable and they go with anything. A neutral shoe elongates your leg so I will wear this a lot during the summer.
Which of the two posts do you like best? The one with the white pants or this one with the dark navy pants? Do you even see the difference? Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.
Thank you for this post. I have always hated clothes shopping. Short and pudgy…nothing looks good. I usually am tethered to my youngest daughter three states away as she tells me “Nope, nope, nope…mom! GET THAT OUT OF YOUR CART!” lol I have a sense of style but at 58, I’m finally spending time on the neck down. I’m finding what that is. Better late than never! I’ve let my hair go gray and while 58 year olds with gray hair and style are not easy to find, I DO follow you as I enjoy your style. The second half is going to be great and you’re adding joy to my day. Thank you for that.
That top is adorable. I like it with the navy pants the best. I have the Noah lanyard and now I have to order the mermaid pendant. It is too cute. Thanks for sharing.
I really like the Mermaid Pendant. You can’t tell from the pictures but the side that has the Mermaid tail has a wonderful “faceting” on the glass part. It is very pretty.
Love the navy. I bought a similar printed top at Charming Charlie’s wore with Levi shorts. Like the navy it really pops. I just want to thank you for all your inspiration. Lost my dad 6 ? Months ago today. Thought I would never find my way again than started reading your post. Your message helped me to find myself again… bless you!! God has given you the voice to reach us.. even those in California. Also, I signed up to be a plunder stylist. Hooray!!!!?
Lisa, thanks for your kind words. I am sorry to hear about your dad, I can’t imagine how hard that is. You really touch me in saying that my blog has helped you in some small way. That is very humbling. You will love Plunder!!! All the women are so nice and inviting!
