50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSJust how high can you kick? That was the question Emersyn asked me the other day, so I decided to show her. She was not impressed! Lol! It was not easy to kick with a voluminous skirt and high heels. I just about knocked over the fern. Anything to keep the grandbaby entertained though. I hate hearing her whine. 50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTS I’m running late today, I have a headache, and the debate is on, so this is going to be short and sweet. I usually say that, but then I get on a roll and type and type and type. See, I just did it again.

I bought this beautiful navy and white polka dot skirt a couple of years ago. I can’t remember where I bought it, but I know I bought it for a Fourth of July party.

50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSMy cable knit sweater top is unbelievably old. It is 24 years old. Can you believe that??? I loved this top back then, and I love it still.

50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSThis is the first time I have worn this waterfall bib necklace from Plunder. The Eliza is 24″ long, and is adjustable. I love the way the chains hang on this side, and you can wear it on the other side, and you see the metal balls with the chains in the background. The crystal magnetic closure bracelet makes this really easy to get on and off. These bracelets come in several colors; pink, charcoal gray, and aurora borealis. The other bracelet I have on, is a carved bakelite bracelet in a gorgeous green color.50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSWhile I was in my jewelry cabinet to get my green bracelet, I grabbed this bakelite necklace also. I love vintage jewelry, and I love vintage fashion shows. I will be attending a vintage fashion show in Marietta, GA the weekend of October 15th, I hope some of you will come see me if you are in the area.
50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSI bought this green leather satchel purse years ago at TJ Maxx. It is a Valenetta, and I have carried this purse A LOT!!! Here is where I wore it with orange, and here is where I wore it with gray. Just because it is green, doesn’t mean it can’t be versatile.50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSI put on a white blazer over the tank top sweater. This white blazer is one that I bought at JC Penney a couple years ago. White is still perfectly fine to wear in the fall, I think it looks great.

50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTSI am off to bed now, but first I told you Joe and I took Emersyn out with us on Sunday. Those of you who have friended me on my personal Facebook page, already have seen what did. We took her to the airport, and taxied down the runway. She loved it, but she fussed at me today, and said, “but we didn’t go up in the sky.” Lol! Those were the words her parents yelled as we left, “do not take her up in a plane!!!”50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTS50 IS NOT OLD | MAXI SKIRT WITH POLKA DOTS

  8. Hi Tania,

You have such a great way to mix and match. But how do you store all your clothes and shoes? I am sorting and decluttering. I have seen how you store your accessories, do you put all the summer clothes in another cupboard and your shoes too? I have gained a bit of weight, should I keep the clothes that I have had for 5 or so years that no longer fit? I am aiming to lose weight but I am realistic, my shape has changed, I am now mid 50’s.

    Many thanks,
    Tracey

    1. Tracey, I have exploded into the bedrooms that the kids no longer use. I used to store all my off season clothing in those huge zip lock bags, and then store then under the beds, but I hated getting them back out because they would be all wrinkled. Now I just take the off season, and hang them in the other rooms. I have a video that will be upcoming in a few weeks, when I am out of town.As far as the weight loss, what I do is pick out only my very favorite pieces, if they don’t fit. Then I put them up, and say that in a year I am going to reopen the tote, and if they still don’t fit, then I will donate them. I am always “going” to lose weight, but somehow I never do. Buy a few clothes for the body and the weight you are now. You want to look the best you can, it makes you feel better.

      1. Hi Tania,

Thank you so much for your organisational tips. I will put these ideas to practise and look forward to your video. You always look great! I really like the green, white and blue combination, you inspire all of us.
        Kind regards,
        Tracey

  9. Fantastic skirt and the sweater is 24 years old? Wow! I think its old when I own a garment for five years! I love both necklaces, perhaps the green one a bit more. Very pretty!

    1. When I started thinking back to when I bought this sweater, I was astonished! I usually wear the sweater at least 3 or 4 times a year, if not more.

    1. I hope you have a good day to Yvonne.

  10. Polka dot skirt looks so flawless! I think white is for every season.
    Emerysn is so cute! <3

    1. I’m with you Patricia. I think white can be worn year round.
