MAKING PREPARATIONS
I have mentioned on the blog about making lists and trying to get everything together. There is a 5 P Principle that goes something like Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. That can apply to so much in our lives from work to packing. I am terrible about getting everything together and organized when it comes to going on a trip. I will usually wait until the day we are leaving before I even start packing and then I wonder why my outfits don’t look like I want them too. I don’t have the jewelry I want, the shoes don’t match, and half the time the clothes are too tight. For some reason, they are never too big. Lol!
All of this trying to plan and pack got me to thinking about how much planning do I put into doing the Lords bidding. Do I make lists of devotions I want to read? Do I put forth the effort to make my journey into Heaven something that would go smoothly?
The real truth is that we put forth lots of time and effort into all kinds of earthly goals. Making a grocery list, weekly dinner menus, scheduling appointments for the kids, or maybe it is a honey-do list for your husband. However, our Heavenly list might be lacking.
Simple lists might be memorizing Bible verses, inviting someone to attend church ever Sunday on month, go on a mission trip, work on our prayer life, making an effort to control our tongue, forgiving someone who has wronged you, adopt a widow into your family, or a host of other deeds.
I am lacking in so many areas that it almost seems overwhelming. I know that you just put on foot in front of the other and pretty soon you are at your destination. So for today, I am going to work on a few things, just one or two, and then I will add on just a couple more. Who knows, maybe I will reach my destination one day.
Please say a quick prayer for Joe and me as we travel today. I truly appreciate every one of them.
Have A Blessed Sunday.
Praying and I know you will enjoy this precious time. Looking forward to your vacation pics. ~Lisa~
Said a prayer for traveling mercies. Hope you have a wonderful spirit filled journey.
Safe travels! Tania you are obviously a hard working, loving wife, mother and grandmother. You go thru life with a sense of humor and joy on every day things. Don’t you think a loving God sees all this and appreciates you for who you are? I think we apply human expectations of what God expects from us. Yes, we all need to strive to be and do better but also be loving and forgiving of ourselves. Have a wonderful time in Alaska!
Have a delightful trip.
Praying you have a safe trip and a fun trip!
Prayers for a safe trip for you and Joe. Have a wonderful vacation? God Bless
Prayers for you from Ct
Prayers for a safe and memorable trip!
Prayers going to both of you as you travel to Alaska. Our newphew & family are stationed at Ft. Wainwright & live in the North Pole!! I know what a grueling trip it is to Alaska, as my sister-in-law/husband travel there every year to see their little grandkids. And its equally grueling for the parents to bring 2 little ones here to Northeast PA!! What an excellent message today, simply stated & good food for thought!
Prayers from Arizona for a safe trip!
