50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40I don’t know how I get myself into some of the situations that I do. Most of you have heard me say that I am shy and a lot of you find that hard to believe. But, those who know me know that when I am out of my “comfort zone” and surrounded by people that I know that I will just be very quiet. In fact, I won’t talk at all until I finally feel comfortable. Also, the thoughts of public speaking is something that can send me into a full-blown panic and I will start to tremble. So, what would you think would happen if I had to talk on a page that had around 80,000 people subscribed to it and I had never met any of them??? ?50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40Let me back up for a minute. Last month I wanted to sign-up for this training class for entrepreneurs by Bob Heilig who I absolutely love. His training classes are incredible and he is very motivational also. The class was already sold out but they put me on a waitlist for the next opening. I was finally able to join the class last Thursday and I was added to his private group where the training is held. From there we were instructed to upload a picture and introduce ourselves. No biggie. Then on Monday afternoon, I got a private message from one of his assistants asking me if I would be available for a call with Bob and 2 other women that he picked at random. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to speak to him and ask questions, etc. I jumped at the chance and asked her if this was by phone or what. She responded by saying that it was a ZOOM call. Now, for those who don’t know what ZOOM is, it is a free APP that you can download to any device and then you are given a meeting number that you type in and join the call. Everyone can see and hear each other. We use this all the time with my R+F weekly team meetings. I thought that EVERYONE who would be listening to the call would be visible so I didn’t think you would really be able to see me. NOPE! That was not the case. Instead, it was only Bob and us 3 ladies on the call and then he made the call go live on his personal page which has over 80,000 members. I thought I would pass out when I found out what was going on. But, here is the thing…….I lived through it! I did it!!! I can’t really remember a thing that I said but I still did it. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40Today is Friday so I am going with a relaxed casual look. I am wearing stripes again today. I wore them yesterday and I was kind of surprised at how well you gurls liked the look. Stripes are huge this year and you will see in all the stores. I bought this short-sleeved tee-shirt last year and it is by Ralph Lauren. I love the deep V neckline and I like that it is thick and durable. Some clothing lines are worth paying a little more for if the garment is something that you will be able to wear for years. Navy and white are a classic combination and stripes are a classic pattern so this should last me a long time.

50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40The earrings that I have on were a Valentine’s Day Special purchase from Plunder. The focus of jewelry this year is on earrings. They are BIG and BOLD and they will be making a statement. I love this!!! I like that it draws the attention to your pretty face and will light up your look. This pair is not available but there is a similar pair called Ruby that is brand new. I am going to be placing an order for the new jewelry as soon as I get finished writing this post. I can already tell you that almost everything that I am going to order is going to be earrings. I am really loving the look. The website has changed and has been updated. You will still login, hit the shop button, and then choose the party with my name in it. Then you can look at the different tabs. Each tab contains different jewelry so be sure to check out all the tabs. 50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40I love the raw hem jeans that you will be seeing everywhere this year. They are casual and fun and youthful. I like all of those words and love being described as that. Do not overlook this style because you think you are too old. The mind controls so much of our body function and I believe aging is right there too. To keep your body young why don’t you first start with the mind. Buy the jeans, wear the statement earrings, BE BOLD!

50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40The red cardigan is several years old. I bought this at Old Navy and they normally have a good assortment of cardigans everytime I get to stop by the store. I love cardigans because they hide a multitude of flaws in the tummy region. You can’t see my muffin top or side pooches when I wear a cardigan. Lol! They draw your eye inward and help to make you “appear” thinner. You might not really be any thinner but at least you will look it.50 IS NOT OLD | MAKE A STATEMENT | FASHION OVER 40I am gearing up and finally starting to get into vacation mode. I will probably start putting things into the suitcase tonight since we will be leaving Saturday and going to Charlotte, NC. We don’t fly out until Sunday but we didn’t want to have to drive to Charlotte really early in the morning. I can’t believe that I am getting to take an extremely nice vacation at the Ritz Carlton in Cancun, Mexico all courtesy of Rodan + Fields. This will be the second time that I have been to a Ritz Carlton and both times was because of R+F. I had never stepped foot in one before, I couldn’t really afford one. I am going to sit down and just comprise a list of all of the really cool things that I have been gifted by this amazing company and that has nothing to do with the paycheck I receive monthly. You really should quit watching me and my adventures and instead join me. What exactly do you have to lose?????

I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

Looking stylish as usual. Love the combination and I can see now that I should have picked up that red sweater when I was at Old Navy today. I actually had it in my hands but did not purchase. I see another trip to the mall, very soon. I also have a difficult time speaking in public places in front of a large group. I start to shake. So whatever I can do to get out of it I will. I took a writing class and the instructor wanted us to get up and give a presentation. I advised that I signed up for a writing class, not a speech class and explained why. She was very accommodating and Me and two other girls have a small presentation to her before class. Dodged a bullet there. The 16″ of snow we got last week, is melting. Love your outfits and look forward to seeing them everyday.

  2. Love this outfit on you! Have a wonderful, well-deserved vacation.

You did great – you look professional and calm. That shade of blue you wore is your color.
It was fun to hear your voice too.

You look darling today. I love the zingy red AND the blue and white stripes AND frayed jeans. You look ready for anything but I choose picnic under a shade tree.

I love your outfit. I’m afraid to wear horizontal stripes. I’m very boring. All solids and tend to stick to black, navy and brown.

Have a wonderful vacation! Let go of the stress and enjoy the sun and fun!

  7. Love your outfit today! especially the jeans. Where are they from?

    1. They are from Old Navy. I linked to them in the pictures below.

  8. Why have I not thought of putting an outfit like this together!! So cute and casual and casual is what I wear most of the time. Where did you get the jeans that you have on? I may try a pair on and see what I think…..I’ve been seeing a lot of this type of earring. Have fun packing!

  9. Most important, have a fun and safe vacation! I love this outfit and is definitely something I would wear. I try to wear V-necks because of the slimming affect.
Stay safe and can’t wait to hear your stories.?☀️

  10. Love the outfit! The navy and white t-shirt is definitely a classic and paired with a red cardigan and jeans, totally classic! Have a great time in Mexico!

  11. wishing you safe travels and a vacation filled with relaxation and adventure. (enjoy!) you look great as always and i love those earrings.

  12. The Ritz Carleton is a wonderful hotel chain so I’m sure you will have a great time! I never would have tried some of the items you have shown until you wore them. Now I will. I’m all for being bold!

  13. Love your casual outfit…I am always drawn to red! Have fun on your trip to Cancun!!

  14. Have fun in Cancun! I’m sure the water is safe to drink at the Ritz Carlton, but don’t drink it anywhere else. Lol. Be safe!

  15. This whole outfit is pretty much what I like to wear for a casual weekend. I’m always drawn to stripes and I agree about the cardigans! I hope you have a wonderful time in Cancun!

  16. Great casual outfit for Friday into weekend. Has a positive feel to it – it gives me positive thoughts – prepared to complete all those tasks int the weekend lol

  17. I LOVE the top half of your outfit! Personally, not a fan of the raw hem or whatever they call it. I guess I’m a bit of a dichotomy. I do wear and like distressed jeans, but just a small amount, not holes and rips all over. But the released /raw hem I don’t care for. Both my adult daughters wear them, though. So, I’ll take the top half, the top and sweater …and the shoes, too.
