IT’S THE DAY BEFORE THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS – 2021

Happy Christmas Eve!!! I know a lot of you might be in hyper mode right now trying to get everything together for Christmas. So, if you are tuning into my blog, I appreciate your loyalty. I am actually in a “chill” mode, and I intend to enjoy the day, relax, drink some hot chocolate, and listen to Christmas music.

It is a tradition to listen to a children’s Christmas album that I had as a child. My sister listened to this album so much that we knew the words to every song on the album. Once we were grown, she found the album on YouTube, and now we can enjoy it year after year. We had a LOT of favorites on that album, but the one that we sing over and over again each year is, “the day before the night before Christmas.” We could never decide what day the song talked about, but I say that it is Christmas Eve day. Do you remember this Christmas album?

I’ve been wearing this Nordic Stripe Pajama Set for almost the entire month of December. I love the whimsical pattern and bright colors of this set. Plus, I like that it is 100% cotton, so I don’t get too hot during the night. The waistline is a drawstring and the legs are straight-cut, so they don’t confine me in any way. The best thing of all…they have POCKETS!!! I’m not sure what it is about pockets, but I am so much happier when my clothing includes them. I am wearing a large because I don’t want to be confined and they fit great. I’ve washed them several times, and they didn’t shrink.

Since I am in a CHILL mood, my outfit will be soft, cozy, and comfortable! I doubt that I will venture outside the house today, so I don’t have a reason to get all dressed up. I have a few more gifts to put the finishing touches on, and I think that I’ll make some friendship tea later in the day. It will probably be just Joe and me for Christmas, and he doesn’t want a big meal fixed. So, I think we will have a Christmas brunch instead and maybe a baked ham later for supper.

I love this Plum Pansies Fleece Pullover! You might recognize this pullover since I have it in the Ribbons Plaid pattern also. I love the extremely soft fleece material that is just as soft after several washings. I thought that this Plum Pansies print will look great all the way through spring, plus it looks really cute now. I am wearing a large and it fits great, a little on the loose side, so take that into consideration when ordering.

I paired the fleece pullover with a pair of fleece-lined yoga pants that I just discovered. I’m not usually a yoga-pant lover since I don’t like to be compressed. But, these fleece-lined yoga pants are fabulous (thanks Ashleigh for the recommendation) and I just ordered another black pair along with a navy, gray, and burgundy one. Because I don’t like to be compressed, I ordered an XL in these, and I love the way that they fit. However, since I’ve lost a little weight, they are starting to get loose.

I am wearing my Brooks GTS 21 sneakers that I use for walking. Since I had a small flare-up with Plantar Fascitis, I wear them all day long. I took my friend’s advice and sized up a half size to a 9 1/2, and they fit me great.

Lucy and I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. I thought that I would share the homemade hot chocolate recipe with you. I haven’t brought my recipe books with me to Abingdon yet, but this is one that I can remember. All I have to remember is 5 ingredients and 1 1/2 and 2, that’s why I can remember it. Lol!

Homemade Hot Chocolate

Easy, 5 ingredients and delicious!

  • 1 can Condensed Milk (Usually 14 oz. )
  • 1 1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 1/2 Qt Milk (equals 6 cups)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Flavoring
  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips
  1. Mix all ingredients together and let simmer stirring constantly. Or, if you prefer, you can add it to a slow cooker on low. It will take 1 1/2 – 2 hours to blend all of the items together.

How much does the hot chocolate mix make? How long does it take to simmer the mixture? Thanks for sharing. Sure looks good.

  5. Merry Christmas Eve & Christmas Tania!
Lovely post and thanks for the recipe!
Those pjs are so cute! You look chill! Good for you!
I always feel like I’m not ready for this grand holiday! Right now…at 12:45, I’m waiting for my family to get up and get going out for our traditional Christmas lunch! It used to be dinner, but now we’ve decided on lunch and they don’t want to get up!…Think they’re regretting their decision. Oh well! Merry Merry!

  6. Merry Christmas Tania and all the blog readers. I really like this blog. I love all the pictures you share (even the back views so I can see how long a shirt is). I loved your descriptions of items. I too like color and it’s inspiring to see how you put outfits together! I have learned to try new and different things thanks to you! I really like how versatile one piece can be. I use to buy an outfit and only wear it one way! My husband probably thanks you too, but I don’t tell him it was your idea, because I want the credit! And the only bad thing is we use to be the exact same measurements. So I knew just what size to order. I am so rooting for you! And you have inspired me to try movement and eating healthy, maybe I too can shed a few pounds! But that won’t be starting this weekend!

  7. Super cute pj’s and I love the print on the fleece top. I just might have to get me that one. Thanks for the hot chocolate recipe! Sounds yummy. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

  8. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a blessed Christmas.
