IS BLACK A SOMBER COLOR WHEN YOU’RE A MATURE WOMAN
Did someone say that black is a somber color? I think that I read that somewhere, but this outfit is anything other than somber. Some clothing makes me happy, but it is usually colorful and vibrant, not black. But, when I tried on this top, I couldn’t stop smiling and twirling; it made me feel cutesy.
We all get stuck in a rut when it comes to clothing. We know what we like, and we like what we wear. Most of us don’t venture too far away for items that we are comfortable with wearing, and that even includes me. I love wearing colorful clothing, and I probably wear that style of clothing 75%-85% of the time. Occasionally, I will get on a neutral or a black kick, but for the most part, I wear colors because they make me happy.
I usually stick with a certain style also, and I prefer wearing items that are a v-neck. They elongate my neck and don’t draw attention to my chin(s). So, in theory, this top should have never made it to my cart. The only reason that I decided to try the top was that I like polka dots. Polka dots are a happy print, so I hit the Add To Cart button to give it a try.
The top is polyester, so it is flowy, and I had the best time sashaying all over the room. The babydoll style is something that I wouldn’t normally wear, but it is so cute that I was actually shocked. I don’t think it made me look too “young” or like I am trying too hard. Instead, I think that it looks like I am just fun-loving.
Here is the funny thing, when I ordered the Swiss Dot top, I thought I was getting a beige top with black dots. And, when I look at the website, that is what the photo shows. But, when the top arrived, it was black and white, which I like just as well. So, I am not sure which top you will get once you order. Lol! Be prepared to get either, but I wish I could get the beige one because it is super cute!
The top has a one-button closure in the back, so it is easy to fasten. I ordered a size large, and I do like the way that the top fits. I also love the length of the top, and it covers the front and back enough that you could wear leggings or bike shorts with the top.
I thought that I was wearing a pair of Vince Camuto white jeans, but the description for those say they are skinny jeans. But, I am not sure that these are skinny jeans, so I am confused. Here is what I am going to do…I am going to link to several white jeans that I’ve been wearing lately because it is one of them. Lol!
I just got these beaded black sandals by Katy Perry. The simplicity of the design was what I loved about them. They are great for wearing with almost anything, and they won’t take away from the outfit. These will look great with a dress as well as jeans. I wore them Monday night to a cookout with a skort. I am wearing my usual size 9, but I wish that they were a 1/2 size bigger.
It looks like this exact pair is already sold out, but I found several that are similar, so I’ll link those for you below.
