DO YOU BELIEVE MY DAD IS INTERESTED IN WOMEN’S FASHIONS

It is Father’s Day, and I couldn’t let this day go by without giving a loving shoutout to my dad. He starts every day with my blog, and that always brings a tear to my eye. Do you believe that my dad is interested in women’s fashion? I can tell you that women’s fashion is the LAST thing on his mind. So, why does he go to my blog the first thing every morning?

There are a couple of reasons that he checks out my daily blog posts.

One, he loves me. I am his firstborn child, so I know that holds a special place in his heart. (sorry sister and brother) We had five years to form that special bond before my little sister came along.

Two, we don’t live in the same area. There is a five-hour car ride between us, so he doesn’t get to be a part of my everyday life. The blog lets him see me, and hear a little about my daily life, and that makes him happy.

Three, he is proud of me. He is proud of all of his children, and he was proud of me before I ever started the blog. I don’t think that the way that I dress has anything to do with his pride level.

There are plenty more reasons that my dad visits my blog every morning, but three are enough for me.

When Father’s Day rolls around, I always think of my dad, my earthly father. But, I also honor my Heavenly Father on Father’s Day. He is the Father of all! And, He checks me out every day also. No, I don’t picture Him sitting in Heaven reading my blog, but I do think that He keeps a close eye out on me as I go about my day.

Like my earthly father, my Heavenly Father loves me, and I hold a special place in His heart. I wasn’t His firstborn child, but I still have a special bond with Him that started long before I was in my mother’s womb.

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

He has known me longer than anyone, He knows the hairs on my head and every thought that enters my mind. Yes, we have a special bond.

Like my earthly father, He and I do not live near each other. But, my Heavenly Father created a way for us to stay connected. It is called prayer, and He is available 24/7 so I never worry that I am bothering Him. He wants me to talk to Him and pray continuously.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

The Lord is with me at all times and He will never forsake me. All that I have to do is invite Him into my life and ask for Him to fill my heart.

Lastly, my Heavenly Father’s love endures forever. If you need proof of that, all you have to do is read this:

Psalms 136

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.

to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.

10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.

13 to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.

16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.

17 to him who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
His love endures forever.

23 He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.

Today is Father’s Day! I am grateful to have been blessed with a great earthly father. I know that some of you may not have had an earthly father that was in your life, but we all have a Heavenly Father that loves us, wants to be near us and is proud of us. Today, we celebrate THE Father!

To God Goes The Glory!

Have A Blessed Day!

    What a wonderful post, Tania! You did such a good job of showing how your earthly dad loves you, and then relating it to how our heavenly Father loves us. It warmed my heart. Thanks for your terrific blog.

    Loved this post! I had a great dad. He has been in heaven for 15 years now, and I still miss him terribly. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to honor my Heavenly Father on this day, as well as my earthly father.(Who I’ll see again one day!). Thanks for giving me this new perspective!

    Beautiful post Tania. On this Father’s Day I am missing my beloved father and husband, both wonderful father’s. My dad passed in 1996, my husband 1998. No words to express how much I miss them both. To all those feeling a bit wearing on this Father’s Day, let their memory be our blessing.
