Inside My Beauty Bag: My Latest Finds from Nordstrom
Ladies, let’s talk beauty! Over the years, my makeup bag has seen its fair share of “gotta-try-it” products and “what was I thinking” moments. But these latest additions? They’re totally going in my daily routine. I found skincare that feels like a spa day and makeup that creates a polished look in seconds. Whenever I find new items like these, I can’t wait to share them with you. So, grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s peek into my beauty bag together.
I’ve always loved trying new makeup products. The last thing I want to do is continue to wear the same makeup I used in the 80s, especially if I’m still applying it the same way. Just like clothing, makeup has trends; remember the tiny pencil eyebrows? I’m here to help you stay modern-looking by bringing you new products and the way to apply them.
I’m including a video of me using some of the products at the end of the post. I know some of you love watching videos, while others prefer only to see a photo and the links.
DERMAFLASH LUXE+ Advanced Sonic Dermaplaning & Peach Fuzz Removal Set
Say goodbye to peach fuzz and hello to smooth, glowing skin. This little device takes dermaplaning to the next level, and it’s surprisingly gentle. I love how my makeup goes on smoother afterward—it’s like giving your face a fresh start!
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
This cleansing balm is like a mini facial in a jar. It melts away makeup, dirt, and stress from the day, leaving my skin clean and super soft. Bonus points for how luxurious it feels—like you’re treating yourself to a spa moment at home.
What is NAD and Why I’m Giving It a Try
So, NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a fancy name for a molecule that’s in every cell of our body, helping with energy and cellular repair. Basically, it’s the behind-the-scenes MVP that keeps things running smoothly. As we get older, NAD levels naturally decline, which can lead to duller skin, fine lines, and less elasticity.
My daughter has been raving about NAD skincare, so I figured, why not? The Codeage Serum and Cream caught my eye, and they’re supposed to help with hydration, support collagen, and even tackle wrinkles. It’s like giving your skin a little extra TLC, and who doesn’t love that? If she swears by it, I’ll give it a shot!
Codeage NAD Face Serum + Resveratrol Niacinamide & Collagen
This serum feels like a science experiment in the best way possible. It’s packed with ingredients that boost hydration, brighten skin, and support collagen. I’ve only just started using it, but my skin already feels smoother and more radiant.
Codeage NAD Face Cream + Resveratrol Niacinamide & Collagen
Pairing this NAD face cream with the serum is like giving your skin a one-two punch of nourishment. It’s rich but not greasy, and my skin drinks it up. The added collagen is a bonus for keeping things looking plump and youthful.
OSEA Vagus Nerve Oil
This little bottle of magic is like stress relief in oil form. I massage it onto my neck or wrists when I’m feeling overwhelmed, and it helps me feel centered and calm. The subtle scent is so soothing, and it’s quickly becoming part of my evening unwind routine.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Dewy SPF 30
This tinted moisturizer is a multitasking dream. It gives just enough coverage for an even complexion, while the SPF 30 and hyaluronic acid keep my skin protected and hydrated. It’s my go-to for days when I want to look put together without too much effort. I’m wearing 3N Sand in the photos.
Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder
I love how versatile this foundation powder is! You can wear it alone for light coverage or layer it over foundation for a flawless finish. It’s lightweight, smooth, and blends like a dream. Perfect for touch-ups on the go, too! I have 4N1 12 on in the photos.
I like applying the foundation powder over my moisturizer with a brush instead of the included sponge. When I use the foundation powder alone, I like using the sponge since it gives more color.
MAC Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara
If you’re like me and love defined lashes without clumps, this mascara is your best friend. It’s smudge-proof, lasts all day, and somehow makes my lashes look longer than they actually are. Plus, it’s easy to remove at night—no tugging necessary! I ordered four tubes and gave my daughter and DIL one for Christmas.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Intense K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick
This lipstick is everything. The color is rich and universally flattering, and it has just the right amount of moisture without feeling heavy. It’s one of those shades that instantly makes you feel pulled together.
I added a tiny bit of gloss to add some shine.
Products I Repurchased And Use On Repeat
Kiehl’s Since 1851 Grooming Solutions Bar Soap
Yes, it’s a bar soap, but it’s not just a bar soap. It smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean without drying it out. Joe uses this, too, and he balked at first because of the price. But after he used it a few times, he told me to order more bars. Lol!
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush
I ran out of this and immediately hit reorder because no other blush compares. The color payoff is perfect—just enough to give you that “I just took a brisk walk” flush. It is available in several shades; I use Pillow Talk Original.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder
This powder is fantastic! It sets my makeup beautifully, blurs imperfections, and somehow manages never to look cakey. It’s a must-have for a polished finish. I use 2N Medium.
That’s everything in my beauty bag right now! It’s always fun to experiment with new products, especially when they come highly recommended by friends, family, or personal favorites from trusted brands. If you’ve tried any of these or have a must-have I should know about, let me know in the comments. And don’t forget to check out Nordstrom’s beauty section—they make it easy to find exactly what you need for a bit of self-pampering. Here’s to finding what works for you and feeling fabulous while doing it!

Verse Of The Day
1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV)
12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Have been looking for a new serum and moisturizer. Will have to give NAD a try. I do use OSea products and love them. I am also a big fan of tinted moisturizers with a SPF for everyday use.
I’m really loving all these products. Sometimes, I only end up using 1 or 2 of the items after a few tries, but these look like they are all going to be part of my routine going forward.
The mascara looks amazing!
That foundation powder and mascara look amazing on you!
The first device is intriguing. I’m going to try Laura Geller’s foundation and blush. It’s not clean but maybe I won’t react since jojoba oil is keeping my skin healthy. That’s another reason I don’t like cold weather because it can bring on eczema.
I love trying new products which is why I have a cabinet full of various skin products and glamour stuff. How long are these things good? They all have chemicals in them so I assume they change over time.
I love your videos and you do your makeup so effortlessly!
Do you still represent Rodan and Fields?
Yes, I still use Rodan and Fields. I love their products, but I also try lots of other products as part of my job. Some get to stay in my routine, and others don’t.
Ouch… In a good way! I need an overhaul in my routine.
Do you ever review dupes?
Dupes of what?
Sorry, dupes of beauty products? I live the idea if the ones you mentioned, but they are too expensive for my budget!
I don’t do dupes, but I do show a lot of drug store and Amazon beauty products.
So do you not use foundation?
I have found as I get older, that powder someone gets into my wrinkles and shows ever one! Have you had that problem?
Thanks for the post!
Sue, I like a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer. I don’t like a heavy coverage foundation because it looks fake and kind of ages you.
Love this post today, Tania! I have a product I’ve been using for the past 2 years , especially in the winter that I can’t live without! It’s the Naked Bee Restoration foot balm. It is wonderfully effective and is a clean beauty product. It comes in a twist up tube, so easy to use and travel friendly, too. And I see it’s made in your home state of Tennessee. I really think it is very worthwhile to try. It’s not expensive either. I pay about $13 per tube.
Great suggestions! Thank you.
Thank you
Barb
Your skin absolutely GLOWS!!
you take excellent care of yourself!
Thanks!
I’m impressed with a lot of your products you have shown. My almost 14 year old granddaughter has shamed me into taking better care of my skin!
Good for her!!!
Your patio snow is postcard perfect!!
How do you like a powder foundation compared to a cream?
The powder is great for a quick out the door with a little cover look. But, if I were going out to dinner, etc., I would want more coverage.
Very beautiful! Your lipstick is amazing!
Love your blog and trying new makeup! Your lashes are beautiful but with hooded eyes, my lashes are hidden. I have individual lashes put on but it gets expensive! I would love to see you do a blog on the best false eyelashes…glue on vs. magnetic.
UGH! I can’t do false lashes to save my soul. I’ve tried both kind, and failed. Lol! I’m sure there is a learning curve, but I’ve not mastered it.
Sign me up for that Vagus Nerve Oil!. I’ve saw videos on how to easily reset the vagus nerve, but this could compliment it.
Thanks for sharing the video – very helpful
Thanks. It is hard to film yourself looking in a camera. Lol!
They make a vagus nerve oil?? Thank you for the heads up on that. I’ll take it!
I didn’t even know there was a Vagus nerve. Lol!
I like to keep up on all the new potions and lotions, so thank you know for these recommendations! I use a lot of No. 7 products, Cerave serums and creams, and Olay eyes. I’m saving this email for my next shopping spree! Also, I’m interested in that foundation powder. I like that smooth, natural look. And I’m big into essential oils, so that Osea is going on my list!
That was fun watching you do your makeup and those lashes!!! Have fun in the snow!
Love all the products, some of my favs too!
Nice high class products, I can see how they work great! & beautiful snow😀
My beauty bag is a mess. I have all kinds of products that I buy and then don’t follow through with trying. For my youth, I ignored my skin and it is still just not part of my routine. Now, at 64, my skin is showing the signs. I have to do better.
I ignored my skin until I was 55…it is never too late.
The two powder links go to the same product, is that right?
Yes, I was just showing that there is a sponge under the powder.
These products look great! I am always trying new things for my aging face and body. I was wondering if you could show us how to apply eyeshadow correctly? My eyes have changed so much now that I am over 65 that the eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, and eyeliner just don’t look right anymore. I also would love to see how you get volume in your hair? I love your blog and read it everyday thank you so very much
I have a HAIR post that will be coming up soon.
Oh Thank you, thank you!! I can’t wait!!!
Thanks for the recommendations!
Thank you for the tip on the dermaplaning. I ordered it last night.
