I might have bought a few things from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Lol! There were actually more bags in the car, but this was all that I could hold in my hands. The crazy part is, half of the things that I wanted weren’t in the stores, so I have had to place an even bigger order online. I’ll share all of those items with you later. Be aware, the links to the items do not show the sale prices, so click to see the price. For now, let’s see what is in the bags!
Before I get into all of the clothing, I want to mention that I have included another YouTube video at the end of this post. This is of 5 ways to style a short haircut, so be sure to check that out. Also, don’t be discouraged if you can’t shop the Nordstrom Sale, I have another sale PDF coming for you, and that will be on tomorrow’s blog. I try to make everyone happy! Lol! Now, you can continue with the clothing.
I tried on a ton of items so that you could see how they fit me. For sizing reference, I am 5’6″ tall, and I usually wear a size 10 (or a 30) in jeans, a medium or large in tops, a large in coats and jackets, a 12 in dresses, and a size 9 in shoes and boots. The white silky tank that I have on in many of the photos is one of mine that is old.
I didn’t think that I would like this ruched sleeve black check blazer because it was very lightweight. But I loved how it looked on, so it ended up coming home with me. I am wearing a size large. The jeans are The Looker high waist skinny jeans by Mother, and that took me some getting used to when I tried them on. I’ve been wearing loose-fit jeans for so long that these felt tight and confining.
In this photo, I am wearing my usual size 30, but I ended up putting those back and sizing up. I just looked online and saw that they recommended doing that too. I have a photo later in the post with the size 31, but you might not be able to tell the difference. These ended up coming home with me, too, because I know that I’ll love them once I start wearing knee boots again.
If this Vince mock neck dress came in other colors, then I might purchase it. This color doesn’t look the best against my skin, and I feel washed out. But, I loved the lightweight material and the feel of the dress. I am wearing a large, and it fits great.
I thought the dress looked great with the Barefoot dreams long cardigan, and I could see wearing this with a pair of knee boots this fall. The cardigan is the Bisque color, and I already have this cardigan in Heather Cocoa – Taupe. This cardigan is on sale for $40.00 off, so I took advantage of that to buy another one.
I think the cardigans run a tiny bit big, so I bought a size medium.
The sales lady brought me these Keefa platform shoes for me to try. I didn’t think I would like the huge 1 1/2″ platform, but the shoes look great, and they would look fabulous with flared jeans. This pair is not on sale, but the Picca platform shoe looks almost identical, and it is on sale. They do run true to size, and I am wearing a size 9.
This large check button-up shirt is super soft and cute. My niece loved it, and she is trying to talk her mother into buying it for her.
I loved the shirt tucked into these raw-hem straight-leg jeans by Wit & Wisdom. Wit & Wisdom jeans are pretty affordable, and they have a lot of stretch to their jeans. The waistband doesn’t dig into you and is very comfortable. I know that a lot of you are Wit & Wisdom fans, and I am also. I am wearing my usual size 10 in these, and I think they fit great.
The check shirt is a little roomy, so I chose a medium, which fits great. This shirt also comes in a couple of other colors, but I was partial to the white and blue.
This little t-shirt is adorable! My sister called it a “Flintstone” shirt, but I am not sure why. I thought it was different and unusual, and the material is super soft. I told you, gurls, the color olive has been calling my name recently, and the additional flecks of pink, light blue, white, and charcoal give it a lot of interest.
I am wearing a medium in the top, and I probably should have sized up to a large; I think it shows some rolls that I would rather not show.
These jeans are by Madewell. They are the Perfect Vintage Jeans, and they have a high waist and tapered legs. These are great everyday jeans, and they will look great with flats, boots, or heels. They will be the “workhorse” of your jeans, and you will wear them a lot. I have on my usual size 30 here, but they are pretty tight through the waist, where I carry most of my weight.
Here is a close-up of the top so that you can see the subtle colors of the top. The only downside to the top is that it is a little pricey.
I don’t know if the mirror was dirty or if my phone had something on it, but this dress does NOT have white flecks. I wasn’t looking for a little black dress, but I sure found one that I LOVE! This funnel neck black sweater dress is by Eliza J, and I love her dresses. Because the dress is black, you can’t see the details, but the dress has raised pintucks at the waist.
The website says the dress runs true to size, but it looked small to me. So, I grabbed an XL, and I loved the way that it fits.
Here is a different look with me adding the black check jacket from earlier and a pair of black square toe strap sandals by Steve Madden. The sales lady brought me a size 8 1/2 in these, but I needed a 9 instead. These shoes aren’t on sale, but I’ll link to some that are similar below.
The scarf handkerchief shirt dress from Vince Camuto is super cute and colorful. I love the colors and the print, and the handkerchief hem makes the dress unique and different. I am not sure if I think this is a boho vibe or a gypsy vibe, but I like it no matter what the vibe.
I have the dress styled with platform heels, but I think it would also look great with a pair of knee boots. The store didn’t have my size in the dress, so I am wearing a size 10 to show you how it looks. But, it isn’t zipped all of the way up in the back because it is too small for me. Lol!!!
I see those same specks showing up on this sweater, so the mirror or my phone is causing the issue. This black cotton and cashmere sweater with white stars is a fun look. It is snuggly soft, but I found it a little short for me. The photo of the sweater on the website didn’t look short, so maybe it is just because I have a long torso.
The sweater also comes in a gray color that has Cheetahs on it instead of stars. I am wearing a size medium, but I am not 100% positive about that.
I am not a huge fan of these Frame skinny jeans. Maybe it is the fit, or maybe it is the color, but they stayed in the store either way. The jeans had a small amount of distressing at the hem, and that I liked. But, I don’t think that I would like them even if I sized up some. I have on a size 30, and the website said that they run true to size.
The square neck black and white striped knit tee is different from anything else in my closet. I love a v-neck and a scoop neck, but I don’t own anything with a square neck. I like the stripes, and I can see myself being able to wear this tee in many ways.
I am wearing a large tee, which is normally the size that I will order in a t-shirt. I paired it with The Looker Mother jeans in size 31 instead of 30 from the first outfit. I am not sure they look any different in the legs, but they are a tiny bit bigger in the waist, which I needed.
I am exhausted from this try-on session, and I am sure that you are also. I have a bunch more to show you, and the things that I’ve ordered haven’t even started to arrive. This sale might be the death of me. Lol!
Anyway, please let me knows which was your favorite outfit from today’s looks. Are you able to shop yet, or when will it be your time? I hope that things won’t sell out as fast this year, but you never know. The great thing is, there will be a ton of returns so that things will go back in stock. Put your favorite items in a Wish List so that the store will send you an email when they get restocked!
