I WOULD RATHER BE A MERMAID
I had the absolute best week with all of the grandbabies. We didn’t go a lot and instead just stayed at the house for the most part but it was so much fun. They swam, they painted, they had their pictures taken, they watched fireworks a couple of times, and they made smores. They also thought the outdoor shower was a cool treat so we didn’t have any trouble getting them to get cleaned up at night. Lol!
However, with all that swimming daily and all of those baths we had a mountain of towels piled up. We did a couple of loads of towels while they were here but yesterday I did 4 loads of nothing but towels. Lol! How can such little people go through so many towels? Hahaha! Emersyn sure hated to see them leave and poor little Matti always cries when it comes time to leave. She is such a sweet and sensitive little girl. Matthan promised them that he would take them to the pet store on the way home and they loved that idea. They weren’t getting anything but they just wanted to see everything and to get to pet the animals and that made them happy.
Today’s shift dress reminds me of a mermaid. I see tee-shirts that say, “I’d rather be a mermaid” in the stores but I think that I would rather wear this dress than a tee-shirt. Lol! The variations of white, teal, aqua, and royal blue all combine to look like fish scales. Maybe you would rather think that they look like polka dots if you are not into mermaids. Lol! The dress is fully lined and is 100% polyester but it is still dry clean only. I am wearing a size 12 which is what I wear in most dresses and it fits me fine but I noticed that the website said if you were between sizes that you would want to size down. This was in my Trunk Club shipment, yes I think my stylist loves me, and it is by Elie Tahari.
I chose turquoise and gold for my jewelry. I wanted to stay in the monochromatic tone with all of the blues that were in the dress. I think this is the first time that I have worn my Venus earrings. They are super cute with marbled turquoise and crystals that look like topaz. They are a 2″ drop which is a good length. The turquoise necklace is the Deidre and it is three strands with gold at each end. The gold Mary Ellen bracelet is the one with the tassel and the Morgan bracelet is the one that looks like links. If you are interested in ordering any of the Plunder jewelry then you can go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and when you click the shop button just pick a party with my name in it.
I almost added white pumps but I wanted to stay with the blue so I added these royal blue pumps that I bought from Old Navy years ago. These are probably at least 4 or 5 years old but they still look brand new because I don’t wear them often. I do like having some colorful shoes that aren’t so expensive for a pop of color.
I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

Love, Love, Love! This dress looks better on you than on the model when I looked it up!
Beautiful dress and so flattering on you. Best wishes for your future and embrace the time that is now your own.
Tania, I am SO proud of you!! You give me such inspiration! You are an amazing take-charge person who has had a successful career managing your husband’s business all these years, while selling Plunder & Rodan & Fields! WHO could do all that while being a perfect Neenee too!? AND NOW YOU ARE RETIRING to spend all your time & talents on those two businesses in which you have already accomplished leaps & bounds over most of us & proved you can do anything! You WILL succeed at this too & you’ve already made alot of money doing so. Isaiah 41:10 SO do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
And I LOVE that cute, cute dress! CONGRATULATIONS!!
Tahari is one of my favorite brands and THIS dress is gorgeous on you! Congratulations on your career move! I’m so proud for you!
Love your mermaid dress, that was my first thought when I saw the dress!
Tania, You will be amazing. Love hearing about your grandkids and family time. Super cool dress.

Love this dress on you
You are starting a new adventure, scary, but you will do fine, go for it, nothing ventured nothing gained.
I retired from teaching in June and I’m still scared about the future. I had a friend that gave me some great advice. She said,”Make the decision and then don’t look back.” This is hard for me to do when I start thinking over the students and friends and income that I had only a few months ago. But, I try to remember her words and look to the future. I’m not old, I’m in good health and I have a great husband and family. How can it go wrong??? Hahaha Best Wishes to you and your future. (Great dress today!)
Terrific dress! Scary but exciting to move on to new adventures when financial security is involved but look what you have achieved so far! The sky is the limit for you!! Go for it!
That dress fits you so nicely. I think sometimes it is hard to let go of something that you have been in charge of for years but I’m sure you did a good job of training the person that will be taking over your job or Joe wouldn’t be ready to let you go if he didn’t feel comfortable with the new gal yet. So embrace this last full week of work and look forward to what is ahead. It will get easier to accept the change.
Blue is your color!! Very pretty dress and it looks great on you.
I too am leaving my (lucrative) ) job for something closer to home with fewer hours after 17 years. Time is something we will never get back! But then again, so is money….. lol
Your stylist did a great job and thanks for sharing!! You inspired me to try Trunk Club, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a perfect way to shop, especially when the closest mall is an hour or so way. That dress looks fabulous on you.
Dear Tania,
Anything new and different seems scary at first. I have a good feeling that everything is going to work out great in your new adventure. I seem to take forever to think things out over and over and then seem to talk myself out of it! I am working on this. You are inspiring and keep inspiring us out here in computer land! I feel the inspiration, and hope it makes me move towards an unfamiliar adventure too!
Love the dress too! Mermaid it is!
That looks really good on you =)
Beautiful dress Tania and enjoy your new adventure onwards and upwards and have fun swimming with the mermaids ??♀️ ?
Wow you look lovely. The dress is so flattering and suits your figure. I now believe in mermaids, ?
