HOW YOU GET HEALTHY AND STILL LOOK STYLISH
No excuses! It is time that we put all of our good intentions to work. How many of you have getting healthy or getting in shape as one of your new year’s resolutions? ? I bet that I am not the only one with their hand up in the air. But, how do we take our good intentions and actually put them into practice?
The answer is pretty obvious. We start by putting on foot in front of the other. We don’t have to start with a 25-mile marathon in our future; we just need to be consistent and have progress daily.
I am thankful that Walmart sponsored this activewear post so that we can all see how easy it is to look good while we start on our health journey.
I think that layering is key when you exercise, especially if you are going to be outside when you walk/run/exercise. I like a thin long-sleeve that fits snug when I walk. This is the one time that I don’t mind if my bumps and bulges show, I want the top to be tight so that air won’t flow under it. I bought a medium in the top for that reason. Here is the link to the top.
Then I can add a quilted vest for extra warmth in my core area. This doesn’t feel confining when I am walking, and that is key. Plus, if I start to get hot, then I can remove the vest easily and only use the long-sleeve shirt. My vest is a size large, and it has plenty of room for me to wear it over a thicker shirt. Here is the link to the vest.
A cute pair of leggings are essential. I am aware that you don’t perform better because the leggings are cute. But, when you feel cute, you are much more likely to want to get up and go to the gym or get outside and exercise. When it comes to leggings, I don’t want anything too tight. I ended up ordering the XL pair, and even though I could have worn a large, I like that the larger pair doesn’t make me feel like I am being squeezed into a sausage casing. Here is the link to the leggings.
To exercise, you will need a pair of no-show socks and a nice pair of running shoes. It doesn’t matter if you use a treadmill, running track, or simply stroll around the neighborhood. The goal should be to simply be active. This pair of shoes by Avia is cute and functional. They fit me great, and they have good arch support with a padded insole. The shoes run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. I went ahead and bought a pair of running shoes with the hopes that I might graduate from simply walking, to fast walking, to slow jogging. Here is the link to the shoes, and here is the link to the socks.
The wind started kicking up, and the temperatures dropped while I was walking. I was glad that I had ordered this relaxed fit hoodie for another layer of warmth. I didn’t know that the hoodie was going to so soft when I placed my order, but I love this sweatshirt type top. The hoodie is a large and is very oversized on me, but it feels so amazing. This top comes in several colors, and I am seriously thinking about ordering it in fuschia and violet also. I think that the hoodie would be perfect for the cool nights of spring. Here is the link to the hoodie.
You can click on any of the photos of the outfit below to be taken to the store items. I have also included a couple of items that I have on order that hasn’t arrived yet.
This post is sponsored by Walmart, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.
I run in the mornings and it is currently dark but still love to wear cute workout clothes. I think it just makes you feel so much better! I look like a sweaty tomato when done so secretly hope the cute clothes distract from that. Lol
Ordered them this morning after reading your article!! (And I already have the same shoes & a black vest, haha!!) Avia’s work great for me – Plantar’s Facisitis – ugh! Can’t wait to get started! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Okay, I’ll do it but I’m not enthusiastic about it. I don’t need to lose weight but I sure wouldn’t mind shifting a few things around a bit. I have new running shoes that have never been worn. Imagine that! A friend told me that once she puts on lace up shoes she feels more motivated to walk. Lace up shoes. : ) I want to be fit, not fluffy!
