HOW TO STYLE FAUX AND LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS
It just struck me today that I have a hectic couple of weeks coming up. On Friday, Joe will be celebrating his birthday! On Saturday, we are heading back to North Myrtle Beach for a week (or more) for a little relaxation. Then on Friday and Saturday, the 22nd and 23rd, I am traveling to Dunn, NC, to host an event for one of my blogger friends and business partners, Beverly from BandBblog. If you live close by, be sure to check out the flyer at the end of the post, and come out and say hello! The crazy part is, that is not all that I have in the works. Whew!
The next week I have to start packing because we are leaving on the 2nd of April and heading to Los Cabo, Mexico. I have to try and get some shopping done before I head off this weekend, I need a couple of things to take with me to Cabo. The first night there, they will do an event of some type, welcoming everyone. The theme is “tropical disco.” I don’t know if your mouth dropped open like mine did when I saw that theme, but, what the heck? I am at a loss as to where to even start looking for something. I keep seeing John Travolta in my mind, and I don’t know where to get the tropical part. If that isn’t hard enough, the last night’s theme is Desert Cocktail. ?
The weather is warming up nicely, so I thought that I better put this post up before it is too late. I styled a bomber jacket the other day, (here) and I thought you might like to see an ivory version today. I have had this jacket for a couple of years, but I hardly wear it for some reason. I like the bomber jacket style, but I think the neckline is what throws me off. This jacket is faux suede, and it is soft. My jacket is from Cato Fashions, and even though they don’t have this exact jacket, they do have THIS one that is faux leather and has the unique detail of a tiny ruffle along the hem. It is adorable; you have to check it out.
I have a thing for nice handbags. I might have mentioned that before, they are my Achilles heel. I recently bought this one when I went to North Myrtle Beach the other day. I blame it on my friend, Lilliana, because she encouraged me. Lol! Isn’t that what friends are for? She is a Burberry lover and has a lot of items from them. So, when I picked up the bag to look at it, she was like, “you have to get it.” It would have been rude of me to say no, right? Don’t worry, I bought this at a consignment store, so I wasn’t out a lot of money, and it is probably faux also. Lol! I don’t care; I liked the style and the pattern.

Yay, I live in North Myrtle! Weather looks like it is going to be nice for you . Enjoy! Funny thing is, I’m from Dunn area and have known Beverly all my life. Small world…
That is crazy, Gina! I didn’t know that you knew each other. Come out and say hello on the 22nd!
I won’t be in Dunn that date. Live and work in North Myrtle now for 2 years…girl’s gotta work, LOL, but who knows, may run in to you at the beach!
I have a fake black leather jacket like your. I’m not happy with the collar either.
Have fun in Dunn, NC! I’ll be thinking of you ladies! 🙂
I love the bag and all bags in general…I have way too many …and I live in Myrtle Beach…do you remember the name of the consignment store?
If you dont mind sharing, what color and make is your lipstick…I love it!
Tania I really loved that floral maxi dress you wore with a white belt! That’s what I would wear in Mexico! Have fun
Kim, you are going to make me have to go back through my archives. Lol!
I believe it was July 2018 lol
Tropical disco: Platform sandals and a sundress, preferably with a flowy skirt and maybe in a tropical floral print?
Desert cocktail: Sequins/sparkle or chiffon in neutral ‘desert’ colors with spiky heels? Think beige and white.
Hope you have a wonderful time with all your plans for the next few weeks!
Tania, I think a flowy jumpsuit would look great on you and be appropriate. I’ve also worn scarves like a wrap skirt, so you could do that with a tropical scarf.
Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip! All of them!

You totally rock it!!!! I had such a fun time going shopping with you… you are an amazing and genuine woman, I love your style too!!! ?
Whirlwind life comes to mind when I read your itinerary. The time will fly by and your holiday will be here. In fact we fly out on the same day as you. Only 3 weeks from today. Exciting ! I love the faux leather jacket, so cute.
I wish I could attend the event with you & Beverly. Since you’re the only 2 blogs I read it would be fun to meet you both and event sounds like a blast. Happy travels. By the way, was in Dryden VA last week. Is that close to you?
Dryden is about 2 hours from me, but that is normal for where I live. I have a good friend who lives in Dryden, she is in the woman’s club their in Pennington Gap, VA. I wish that you could come to meet us, we will have a blast!
How do you think the bomber jacket would look or fit someone who is busty?
Honestly, Diane, I don’t know. I would think so since I have seen a few busty friends of mine wear them, but I would order from somewhere where I could return it if you didn’t like the way it looked.
Try googling Versace’s Desert Cocktail Dress for some inspiration! 🙂
Thanks, Alison, I’ll do that.
I have been missing your posts with purses.
I have been carrying my Louis all the time and I figured you wouldn’t want to see it over and over again. Lol!
Bought the jacket, per your recommendation. I love your necklace!
I love the necklace, too, Janis. It must be sold out because I couldn’t find it on the website. I’ll look again because I could have overlooked it.
