HOW TO MAKE YOUR LEGS LOOK LONGER
I did something today that I haven’t done in probably fifteen years. I went to the nail salon, and I had all of the SNS polish soaked off of my nails, and then I cut them down almost to the quick. I love long nails, but I am terrible at making time and going to the nail salon. I needed my nails done before I went to Myrtle Beach, but I couldn’t find the time. Joe told me to go to a salon while I was at the beach, but I hate going to someone new, so I decided to wait.
If you notice in this picture, you see me trying to hide my pointer fingers. That would be because I broke one of them before I came home from the beach, and then I ripped off the other one this morning. I had already decided to quit putting SNS, acrylic, or gel on my nails, but I hadn’t planned on getting them cut so short. My nails were long, but since I broke the two off so short, I cut the rest of them off to match. Here is the funny part…I can’t type now. Ashleigh thinks it is hilarious that I could type with long nails, and now that my nails are short, I am taking forever to get my typing done. So, how about you, ladies? Have any of you ever decided to go cold turkey on having long nails?
I told you they were super short.
The Fairisle pattern is gorgeous, and I especially love the colors of this sweater. I am not as big a fan of the brightly colored Fairisle sweaters as I am the toned-down versions like this one. The medium gray backdrop is perfect for the deep teal and bright white pattern. Neutrals have been my jam this fall and winter, and I can’t get enough of gray especially. But, this pattern adds some spice to the sweater to keep it from looking too blah. The ribbing at the cuffs, neck, and hemline is a nice touch, and it helps the sweater to fit better. The ribbing at the hemline allows you to position the sweater to create to draped effect, or you can pull it down for a sleeker look. I am wearing a medium, which is what I usually wear if I order from The Loft or the Loft Outlet. This sweater is part of the huge sale that is ongoing, and here is the link.
You might remember this deep teal corduroy pair of pants from this post back in early November. It is funny that I wore them with a Fairisle sweater back then also. I sent back the pair from the older post because they were too small, and I reordered them a size bigger. I have learned that when I purchase from the Time and Tru brand that I need to size up one size unless it is a stretchy pant. Here is the link to the pants.
Today I wanted to elongate my legs, so I decided to wear a pair of nude pumps that I have had for years. This is a pair of Michael Kors nude pumps that I bought in Tennessee. I don’t wear them often because they are about a half size too big. I wanted to see if I could add something to the back of the heel to make them fit tighter because I love these shoes. Nude shoes can be worn with anything, so you get lots of wear from a pair.

How is your memory???
Have you done any of the following? Walked into a room and forgot why you went into the room? Drove by the place that you were supposed to turn off? Or, maybe you have been telling a story and forgot what you were saying???

There are only a few days left in this year. I am trying to reach my goal of 50,000 Instagram followers before the by January 1st. It is almost impossible, especially with the new changes that Instagram has made. But, it is only impossible until it’s done. SO, if you are following me, then tag a friend. If you are not following me, then go here to follow me and then tag a friend.
Thanks so much for following me on my blog. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

I also got off the running to the salon every 2 weeks wagon!! Who has that kind of time!! I keep them short and use London butter clear coat…
I would never have my natural nails filed thin and wear fake nails. Not healthy. I tried gels about three times and liked that they last long but I started having an allergic reaction probably to the remover. Also I think shorter nails look classier. Recently i have tried the press on nail color sold through parties and they last at last two weeks and look really festive.
Removed mine a few months ago after almost 30 years.I wasn’t going for a fill as often as I should have and wound up at many events with grown out, trashy looking nails- why bother? Now I polish my own, keep them short and buy a Hanson Insta-dry color close to the Essie or Opi color I’m wearing and repair the end chip offs in between full polish change. I like it so much more. I think wearing nails too long looks dated, especially after a certain age. Savings of $100+ a month is a bonus.
Hi, Tania, I broke my right foot a couple of years ago & now it’s a little big shorter than my left, so I put Foot Petals Heavenly Heels in the back of my shoes all the time and, voila, no problem! (You can even double them up to make them thicker if necessary.)

I’ve also been wanting to try these since I recently discovered them & the description even says that they’re for shoes that are a bit too big.

I look forward to reading your blog every morning – it’s the first thing I do! And I love all of your wonderful stories about you and Joe & your lovely family.
As a former bank manager, i had acrylic nails for over 20 years! I developed an infection, removed them, and after weak nails for about 6 months, i now have to trim my strong nails every other week! What a freeing feeling to not have to go top the nail salon every 2-3 weeks! Best decision i ever made! Good for you Tania!
Congrats on removing your hard chem nails. I was on the no-chip mani run for about 2 years and decided to stop. So glad I did. I think healthy, regular length nails are a classier look. Not to mention what’s under those long nail tips. My nails are much stronger and I enjoy changing colors when in the mood. I still go for bi-weekly mani/pedi appts. Much cheaper. Schedule your appts in batches if 3. Chances are, you’ll make the time to be there. For me, it works to plan ahead. Love this gray sweater with teal pants. Gorgeous!
I wore acrylic’s for over 40 yrs and took all of mine off too a few months ago, but…..yours look MUCH nicer than mine. I’m reminded now that I look at mine of WHY I wore acrylic nails for as long as I did!! Yours look terrific not are not nearly as short as mine. Mine are weak and just not pretty like your nails. I wouldn’t think twice about going without acrylic nails if mine looked half as good as yours! Great outfit today….just ordered that sweater!
Love your short natural nails. All those chemicals are terrible for you. Weekly manicures and aquafor will keep them healthy. Think of all the germs under them and how much money you’ll save!!! I think artificial nails make you look older because it draws attention to your hands. You go girl!!!
I went cold turkey on my long nails recently, mine weren’t quite as long as yours but it sure makes a difference! Love your outfit!
Tanya, if you want to elongate your legs you should wear pants, hose and shoes in the same shade. What you are doing here cuts your legs off at the ankle.
