How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf

Have you ever tried golfing? Joe convinced me a few years ago to try it, and believe it or not, I was pretty good. I think I might have been REALLY good if I’d kept at it. (Side note: have you ever read Pride and Prejudice? I love the line where Lady Catherine de Bourgh is talking about music on the piano, and she says, “If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.”) So, if I’d ever learned golf, I would have been great, lol. As much as I enjoyed it, I don’t have much time to play 18 holes. But, if you play golf or if you’re like me and watch someone you love to play the game, this is for you! Today, I’m sharing how to look your best while playing golf. Or just watching golf, whatever.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Tops

Depending on your golf club, you might be required to wear a collared shirt. This lilac sleeveless top is the only top in this post that fits me correctly. The large size is perfect, and the light purple looks great with the blue-patterned skort.
This sleeveless top isn’t just any shirt; it’s designed to keep you cool and comfortable while on the golf course. With a length of 24 1/2 inches and a stylish v-neck, it’s made from a stretch fabric that moves with you, wicks away moisture to keep you dry, and even has UPF 50+ sun protection! Made from 86% nylon and 14% Lycra® spandex, it’s super easy to care for—just toss it in the wash and tumble dry.
I know that’s a tennis racquet, not a golf club, but the fashion police won’t care. This is 87% polyester and 13% elastane, making it super lightweight, stretchy, and breathable. It’s designed to wick sweat away, plus the collarless design provides a bit of sun protection for your neck. The curved hem and short sleeves offer great coverage and freedom of movement. Like the one above, it also offers UPF50+ protection. Available in a variety of colors like Sky Blue, it’s not just for sports but also great for casual outings.
This looks like a neat design detail, but it’s actually breathable mesh around the arms. It not only looks stylish but also keeps you cool throughout the day. I love the V-neck cut for that touch of style, and the cap sleeves are perfect for a sporty chic vibe. This shirt comes in the prettiest shades, like the pink shown, but there’s a whole rainbow of colors to choose from.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Skorts and Shorts

This is my favorite skort! I love versatile clothing, and this skort outfit could be worn for golf, tennis, or a date night. I love this print, and this length is my favorite for a skort. The longer skorts look dressy, but this length helps to make my legs look long and lean, and that’s what I want. This skort is also available in more colors and prints.
Here’s a skort that hits all the right notes for me! I love the asymmetric tiers, plus it’s made from stretchy, UPF-protective fabric. It’s a nice 18 1/2″ length, a comfy 4″ inseam, and a pull-on style for ease. Not to mention, the antimicrobial fabric keeps things fresh by inhibiting those pesky odor-causing germs. The bright white will look amazing against the green of a golf course.

Bermuda shorts are a wardrobe staple that offers both comfort and style, which is why they’re such a great choice for women over 50. Their length, typically hitting just above the knee, strikes a balance between showing some leg while still providing ample coverage. This makes them ideal for various activities besides golf, such as running errands, meeting friends for lunch, or enjoying a casual day out.
The PGA TOUR Women’s Stretch360 Golf Shorts are practical and inexpensive, with prices around $31. They’re designed with a stretch waistband that’s all about moving with you without feeling tight or uncomfortable. The best part? They’ve got a chic, straight fit that hits just above the knee, offering both style and coverage with a 9.5″ inseam. Whether you’re aiming for a hole-in-one or running errands, these shorts will have you looking great.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Pants
These pants are for anyone who loves to stay active without compromising on style. Like the other items, these are also made of lightweight, UPF-protective fabric. I love that they are stretchy, and the crop at the ankle gives a sleek, modern look. They come with a smoothing wide waistband that sits just right whether you’re teeing off or heading out for a casual meet-up. Made from 65% recycled nylon and 35% Lycra® spandex, they’re eco-friendly too. Easy to care for, you can choose to dry clean them or simply toss them in the wash.
These look very similar, with the cropped ankle and the wide waistband, but there are differences. These are made by Adidas, and they know a few things about athletic wear. The leg opening is a tiny bit bigger, giving you a slight flare, and they have a small slit on the side for a bit of detailing. These also have back pockets, which the navy pair does not have. You can’t go wrong with either pair. Or both, lol.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Shoes
Golfing is an excellent opportunity to buy new shoes, lol! You can’t walk around on the course in just anything! These have a nice grippy sole to ensure you’re not slipping and sliding around the green. They are designed to be super lightweight and sporty, and I’m a fan of the soft mint color.
Recognize the iconic three stripe design? Yes, these are also from Adidas! I like the subtle, soft coloring. They manage to look sporty but not masculine. These are technically “spikeless” which means you should be able to wear them inside the clubhouse, too. Perfect for having a cocktail after a long day of golfing or watching someone else swing the clubs!
Okay, ladies. Comment and let me know if you golf, like watching golf, or would be happy to never hear about golf, lol.

Great choices for golf, tennis or just looking cute during the summer months! Used to play golf, too but now hurts my back and it is too hot here! lol
Sorry about your sweet family dog and her sleeping habits. I did read the posts and I agree with CBD or Melatonin for dogs. I believe your vet could help you with this. Good Luck!! and happy sleeping!!
Blessings, Paula K.
Love golf. It was fabulous to see this post of golf apparel. I enjoyed the change up!
I love packing “golf” skorts when I’m vacationing somewhere warm. The same wicking/quick dry features are perfect when it’s hot out. I’d love to see some travel/packing ideas!
I’ve played golf virtually all my life and love wearing what I have always called a “golf skirt” when the weather permits. Have to check these out. I will say though I disagree with your recommendations for golf shoes.
Love the skorts – and I don’t even play golf!
I had a little dog that was older (we weren’t sure what his true age was) who started to get up at night, and wander. We ended trying medication that our vet recommended and it worked somewhat. They told us it was part of the aging process, almost like an elderly person with sundowners. I hope you can figure things out.
I’m afraid that might be part of what is going on with her.
I don’t play but I actually enjoy watching it with my husband.
Tania, can you close your bedroom door and maybe bring Lucy’s water bowl in the bedroom?
Agree with the comments about showing pickleball outfits and gear. Please do a post for pickleball.
I did a pickleball post last year, but it was mostly on gear. https://50isnotold.com/pickleball-basics-for-women/
My late husband took me golfing with him one time and quickly decided that it wasn’t the game for me!!
Lol!
Good Morning Tania! I love ALL the skorts and tops! Fabulous! The V neck tops looks great as well. Cool and comfy.
I’m looking into the Wrap style skort as well. Beautiful! 😻
After one “lesson” with my newlywed husband, 40+ years ago, we made an agreement….whatever hubs spends on GOLF, I can spend on SHOP…..both are 4 letter words. Lol.
Love the Bermuda shorts.
I love that trade off!
Few things are more frustrating than not sleeping well! I am curious about what device you used to track your sleep. 😴
It is the Oura ring that you’ll see in my photos.
I do golf and play pickleball! These outfits will work great with both! Or just to wear around and look sporty!
Hi Tania! Love the golf outfits!
Our dog also gets up in the night and has trouble seeing (he is 17 now)! We now have a small nightlight close to floor level so he can see to get back to his bed after one of his several trips in the night. We also have a nightlight in the hallway. It works well for him and he doesn’t wake us up as much.
Good luck! 🙂
Have you thought of closing the bedroom door so that Lucy can’t roam about during the night? While neither my husband or I play golf, we have in the past. I think that most of the pieces you shared can be worn for other activities. I have tried on many skirts, but neither my husband or I have liked how any of them look on me. At least there are other options out there.
🙏🏼 Thinking of you and the pup. The doggy melatonin people are suggesting is a good idea.
Thank you for your work and the scripture!
Thank you sharing the golf attire! I do golf and pretty much wear Lilly Pulitzer exclusively mainly because they wash and wear like iron BUT… it’s so great to be introduced to new things! Thank you
Hi Tanya love these golf shirts and skorts they will be great for playing pickleball.
About your dog I can help you here I have been a dog groomer for over 40 years this is a common problem in older dogs especially if they are losing a bit of sight and sleeping a lot during the day. She is getting her night and days mixed up so sleeping during the day and awake and restless at night. Easy fix keep her awake during the day – if she goes to the groomer ask them to keep her a little extra time and no long naps during the day. You may have to keep waking her up during the day but in 2 days problem is usually fixed. All the best. Good bless you!
Thanks, Pat. I think she is losing some of her sight, that’s why I shine the light for her to see.
Not a golfer, but the Bermuda shorts reminded me of my aunt who always dressed like that in the summer. She learned to golf with my uncle. I always thought she looked sharp.
Bermuda shorts are dressier than most types of shorts.
I don’t golf but you showed some cute outfits that can be worn anywhere. Especially like the beige Bermuda outfit.
Good morning, have you thought about moving Lucy‘s bed closer to your bedroom door or even keeping the door closed at night? We used to have a small poodle who got a little grumpy as he got older if my husband would move his legs at night. We had an ottoman at the end of the bed so he could jump on/off of the bed. At bedtime, I moved the ottoman to my side of the bed and placed his dog bed on top, hence corralling him for the night as it was too tall for him to jump down and he was still close enough to me to feel comfortable. Worked like a charm! These little critters certainly have us trained❤️
Have a good day and maybe a nap!
We have thought about shutting the door to keep her inside or outside. But, I think she will sit at the door and whine either way.
Great choices!!! I have a friend who uses CBD on her dog…Happy Thursday❤❤❤
I’ve heard of doing that, but I haven’t looked into it yet.
Does Lucy have a “heated” bed? My older baby was going through the same issue and I got a self heated bed, she loved it….at first….then started the same scenario over again. I talked with my vet and he suggested a bed with a heating pad made just for animals. My baby has arthritis, and this soothes her at night. I purchased a second one for the living room during the day. During the cold winter months I put a hot water bottle under her pad before we went to bed and she would snuggle in for the night.
I’m thinking it might be because it is too hot in the bedroom. I’ve noticed her moving to the couch and the bathroom, and both of those rooms are cooler.
Cute golf outfits.
Your Oura ring results looks like mine every night!! I feel you!!! What keeps me up and wakes me up is sciatic nerve pain in my lower back and legs.
Maybe closing the bedroom door so your fur baby cannot get out of your bedroom is all I can think of!🤷🏼♀️
I’m not a golf but a lot in my family are. I like golf clothes and a couple of these I’d wear anyways!
I don’t play golf but I play tennis and I just ordered the top with the mesh, in a dark pink. It will be perfect for the tennis court. Thanks for the many options.
My dog sleeps fairly well at night but likes to get up early. I set an alarm and he’s learned that he can’t wake Momma before it goes off!
If she contiues being restless at night, you may want to take her to the vet for a physical. Unfortunately, our pets can’t tell us when they’re in pain so it’s worth getting her checked out..
I don’t play golf but I may have to learn. In a few months I will be moving to community that has golf and tennis. Thanks for the ideas.
I’m not a golfer but I do like the golf clothes that you have shown.
I dont do golf. But our book club is reading Pride and Prejudice next month so I will remember that line!
Tania how old is Lucy? She may be experiencing some anxiety due to loss of sight (needing the flashlight to find her bed) and/or hearing. If she is an older dog I highly recommend a visit to the vet for a senior check up. There are some medications that might help.
Really liked the golf clothes you showed. How about doing a post on pickle ball clothing since it’s so popular? I would love to see that!
Lovely choices!
I’m a big fan of golf, playing and watching! I was glad to see this post but wondered about the shirts. You said the first one is the only one that fit you correctly. Can you tell us about the fit of the other tops, especially the one with the perforated sleeves. Thank you…heading out to golf!
Hi, Tania! I have a golden doodle who is very restless all night long. I researched dog melatonin on Amazon and found a liquid with a dropper that I give to her at bedtime. She is still a VERY early riser, but she is sleeping much better at night, and I don’t notice her getting on and off the bed all night long. I hope you can find something that works. I was getting very frustrated when my sleep was getting interrupted.
Erinn, I asked Joe if he thought there was melatonin for dogs. I’m glad to hear there is, I might have to look into it if she keeps this up.
I don’t golf but cute things! & no dog here!
I like to pick items that can be worn for many reasons, golf being one of them.
Bring on summer temps…
Love the Bermuda shorts!
Oh my goodness Tania, I have the same dog /cat sleeping issue …..gotta love em and obviously they have US trained ! Just a thought, but has Lucy started doing this since Tom moved in ? she just might be a little uneasy or just this change has messed with her sense of normalcy. Our cat is indoor/outdoor , some times my husband will get up in the middle of the night and let the cat in—- somehow the dog knows she is somewhere in the house and the rest of the night is up and down , while she stays in bed she never really goes back to a deep sleep ,and neither do I !!!
We thought about that too, Marilyn. But, I’m pretty sure she started it before Tom came. She did better last night, but you never know what she is going to do.
