HOW TO GET A LUXURIOUS FEELING FOR UNDER FIFTY DOLLARS

Out of the mouths of babes. My granddaughter, Emersyn, spent the night with me on New Year’s Eve, and she saw the New Year arrive while I slept. Lol! She did wake me up to tell me that it was after 12 and wished me a Happy New Year, so I didn’t miss seeing it by much. I didn’t start out the New Year in exactly the way that I had wanted though, and it was my fault. No, I didn’t overindulge in the spirits; I simply tried some new hair products that were sent to me.

The products had a scent that bothered me, and I eventually had to wash my hair again to remove the smell. However, the damage had already been done and I woke up with a sinus headache. I started feeling better as the day went on and mentioned that I was glad that my headache was leaving since I couldn’t have my usual headache remedy of a Coke and french fries. Emersyn wanted to know why I couldn’t have that, and I told her that it was because I made a resolution to only drink black coffee and water in January. I also made a resolution to not eat sugary snacks like cakes, pies, candy, or ice cream, so January is not going to be a fun month in the Stephens household.

She cocked her head at me, and I asked her if she knew what a resolution was. She said, “is it like a war or something?” No, that would be a revolution, this is a resolution which is kind of like making a promise that you try to keep. She immediately replied, “oooooh, could I make a resolution?” I told her she could, but we had to figure out what she was going to promise. I named several different things that she could do, and she kept shaking her head no to each suggestion. Finally, I said, “how about you make a resolution to not tell any lies in January?” She looked at me and said, “you know what?” “I’m just a kid, I think I am going to keep having fun, and let you adults do the resolutions!” Dang, to be a kid again. Lol!

Y’all, at least I can still have fun wearing this incredibly soft cashmere-blend sweater. I love the feel of the material against my skin; it makes me feel special. I am getting hooked on all of the cashmere sweaters that are on sale right now and I am starting to get spoiled.

This luxurious feeling sweater is extra cute because of the embroidered cheetahs that adorn the front. I prefer anything that is embroidered over screenprinted, it just looks so much nicer. The sweater has a relaxed fit and the wide ribbing at the hemline, the cuffs, and the neckline are very comfortable and non-binding. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10), and I love the fit since it doesn’t show any of my extra baggage. The sweater is on sale for 50% off, so now is a great time to get this one of a kind sweater.

You might have noticed that I tried two different shoe styles with this outfit. I like adding the same color shoe as my pants so that it elongates my legs. So, I put on these pointy-toe ankle boots from Vince Camuto to see if I liked the look. These boots have a chunky stacked heel that is super stable and easy to walk in. These boots have a unique look with the brown sole and the black upper. The boots run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

After I tried the ankle boots with the look, I decided to try a dressy pair of shoes. These leopard print pumps have a 2 1/2 inch heel which is a medium-size heel, and fairly easy to walk in. This pair is by Sam Edleman, but they have been sold out for a while. However, there are several that are very similar and they are on sale.

These coated black jeans are stunning! They have a look of leather, the feel of a worn pair of jeans, and style galore. These jeans have a lot of stretchiness, so they don’t feel binding at all. The jeans look great dressed up or down, and I can’t wait until spring rolls around so I can wear these with a white t-shirt. I LOVE the look of black jeans and a white tee! These jeans run true to size and I am wearing my normal size 10 in these.
