HOW TO EXTEND YOUR WARDROBE SERIES
The GRANDS are here, the GRANDS are here!!! I am channeling Paul Revere today, but I do feel like shouting from the rooftop. I live five hours away from my three grandchildren who live in Tennessee, so I don’t get to see them near as often as I would like. I am envious of anyone who has all of their children and grandchildren living in the same vicinity, or even an hour or two away. I have two who live next door to me, so I know how much fun it can be to have them close.
I need to run to the store and stock up on EVERYTHING! Lol! Poor Joe and I tend to scrounge, so we never have a stocked pantry or refrigerator. With three children in the house, you have to have plenty of food available, so I usually send my son to do the grocery shopping. I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I send someone to the store to buy me a product, and they come back with the wrong brand. So, I send my son to do the shopping since he knows what they all like and will eat. Plus, my daughter-in-law is a great cook, so she does a lot of the cooking while she is here. I love it when they come to visit; it is like a mini vacation. A vacation that ALL my grandchildren are with me!!! Color me a happy camper!
I am going to do a series this week. You gurls all seem to like it when I take an item, and then show you how to style it in multiple ways. I am starting it off today with this plain tank top from the Chicos Off The Rack. The lighting doesn’t show the color well on this top; it is an oatmeal color. Doesn’t that sound appetizing? The reason that I picked this tank to style for you in several ways is that it is a neutral that can be worn with a lot of combinations. The oatmeal color does not look great against my skin tone, so you will see how I wear the top so that it works for me. This is a scoop-neck top, so it is flattering by making my neck appear longer, which makes my face look thinner. These tanks are on sale, so I stocked up in several colors. I ordered these in size 2, which is larger than I usually order. I wanted to make sure that these didn’t fit me tight since I knew that I would wear them as a stand-alone piece, instead of always wearing them under a cardigan or jacket.
Because oatmeal doesn’t look great with my skin tone, I added this beautiful summer scarf as an accessory. Blue is a color that I love wearing, and this scarf has a print on it that contains the oatmeal color. Ding, ding, ding! All of the attention is on the scarf, and no one even pays attention to what top I have on. This is a great way that you can wear the same top over and over again, and no one even noticing. My scarf is old, and I am not sure where I purchased it. I do get a lot of my scarves from Cato Fashions and Old Navy, so it is possible that it came from there. Here are several similar scarves, and they are all on sale.

Love your posts, Im over 60 and do everything I can to look and feel younger , my kids and grandkids are close and I’m blessed for that!
I agree, Debbi. Staying busy will keep you younger!
I am jealous of you!! My grands are a 7 hour FLIGHT away from me (or about a 6 day drive). I do have four close by that are older, but the littles are so far away!! Love the jeans!
Ester, that makes it so hard when your loved ones are so far away. Thank goodness for the internet, Facetime, and ZOOM. You can keep close by some of those options.
