HOW I’M STYLING OLIVE GREEN FOR FALL
Wearing olive green for fall is almost like saying wearing florals for spring. It is a given, but it hasn’t always been that way for me. I never wore olive green for fall or any other season. It was a color that I detested, and I probably said those three little words that I’m having to eat; “I will never.” I know we should be careful about saying never, and this is one time it came back to bite me in the butt.
Before we continue, let me tell you a quick story. When Joe plays golf, he always takes off his wedding band because it cuts into his hand when he swings the club. He usually will stick it in his golf bag, but there have been occasions where he will put it in the car, the golf cart, his shorts, etc. On more than one occasion, he has lost the ring for a day or two, but he has always managed to find it. HOWEVER, this time, he lost it for over a week, and he was starting to panic. He searched the car several times, emptied out his golf bag twice, called the golf course to see if anyone turned it in, and went through his clothing. He had already given up and asked me to order him another one.
Last Thursday, a lady who helps me clean came walking through the kitchen and said, did you lose something? She was holding Joe’s ring, and I laughed while asking her where she found it. It was in his shorts pocket, you know, the ones he had looked through. I took a photo and sent it to him, and he called me within seconds. He couldn’t believe the ring had been found, and he came home to grab it. I had to tease him just a tad, but he had felt so bad for losing it that I gave him a break. He now has a plan on where he is putting his ring when he plays golf, but I wouldn’t take bets that he won’t lose it again.
Everything in this outfit seems to be pretty true to size. The jeans are the only thing that seems to be big on me, but that is probably the style more that the size. I love the entire outfit, and I think that wearing olive green for fall is now my go-to color. I have to also include chocolate brown and black on that list, and all three are colors that I’ve shied away from in the past. Gurls, try new things constantly; your taste changes, and so does your coloring.

I loved the sweater tank so much that I ordered it in several colors. Besides the Iguana Green, I ordered Dune Red, Natural Stone, and Preppy Navy. I also ordered the matching cardigan in Dune Red and Navy. I almost ordered the Iguana Green, but since I already have the Twill Utility Jacket, I decided I didn’t need both.

This bag is gorgeous and perfect for my olive green for fall post. I love the size and style; however, it is on the expensive side, so I’ll post some below that will give you a similar look, but at a better price point. I styled this bag with chocolate brown, and they really looked great together.

Dainty, layered necklaces are what’s trending for fall. I love wearing a couple of dainty necklaces in the opening of a top, but I LOVE long necklaces with sweaters. I might have to balk when it comes to my longer necklaces. Remember, choose what you like and what works for you, let the rest slide. Here are some affordable options:

I’m surprised that I like the Barrel Jeans. I had decided I didn’t like them, but after looking at these photos, I changed my mind. Now I’m on the fence…what do you think? Are these a keeper, or will I not get enough wear from them to justify the purchase?

These boots I LOVE! I could wear these every day; I love them that much. The color is gorgeous, deep and rich looking, and I like the higher shaft and chunky heel.
The rain has stopped, at least for a little while, and I am loving the sunshine. I am quickly taking as many photos as possible since it might start raining again at any moment. I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to leave me a comment about my blog and YouTube. From the responses, it seems like almost none of my followers are part of the 85 million people on YouTube. So, I need to process that information and decide how to proceed while looking for an entirely different audience. I do love a challenge, so I’m going to DREAM BIG and start small!

I love olive green and this outfit. The tank and jacket are sold out except small. Dang!
They must be selling quickly. I knew the tank was limited, but the jacket was available in most sizes last night. BRF doesn’t seem to keep a lot of inventory on hand, I wish they had more because it is becoming one of my favorite stores.
I think that you have jeans in other fits that flatter your more than the barrel jeans. Since olive green is not a great color for me to wear close to my face, I pair it with one of my signature colors. And I will wear it on the bottom half. Poor Joe! I’m glad his wedding band was found.
I like finding other ways to incorporate color into my wardrobe, and on the bottom half or with accessories is a great option.
I love everything about this outfit. Olive green looks beautiful on you. I’m like you – not sure about the jeans. I think they look great on you, but if they stretch at all, maybe not.
They don’t seem to have too much stretch content, but I don’t think I LOVE them either.
My coloring is ‘summer’ so I look terrible in khaki green and most tans. Which is a shame because I think they are so versatile.
I’ve tried and tried, but finally had to admit that things like classic khaki trench coats in the usual shades just do nothing at all for me.
Leslie, when things like that happens, I’ll add a shirt with a collar or a scarf to keep the color away from my face that doesn’t look the best.
LOVE the jeans on you!! SO modern and current–what the “kids” are wearing. I immediately noticed that they weren’t your usual style, but I love how much they update and make the outfit current rather than just classic.
I love the olive green! You featured a faux green blazer in yesterday’s Capsule post (I’m thinking of it as a catalog) that is sorely tempting me. I like the barrel jeans more than wide leg ones, I think, because of the way they are ‘pegged’ at the bottom. The key to that is the fit–so it is good that those are offered in Regular, Tall and Petite. It would be hard to alter them much. You are tall enough to carry either look off, whereas I am not sure I am, at 5’3″.
I love those jeans. I think they look current and comfy. Would be great with a button up shirt tucked in.
Love this look…you look fabulous❤️
Love olive green. I wear it often in the fall and winter months. The outfit was really cute. Still don’t know if I can pull of short sweaters. I’m short already, so not sure. Glad you found Joe’s ring. Good story!
Your YouTube comment was a little ominous to me so I just want to say… I AM ONE OF YOUR FOLLOWER GURLS!!!
