A column of white has been my go-to this summer. White is elegant, and it is cooling in the summer months. I don’t know about you, but my goal is always to look stylish, but also long and lean and as thin as possible. When you look longer or taller, then you look slimmer or thinner. Even though this might be an optical illusion, I’ll take it!!!
Dressing in a column of color will help you to achieve the long vertical line that you are looking for. So, with my outfit today, I went with a white top and pants, and then added some gorgeous color to make the outfit POP! You can dress in any color that you want, but in the summer, I tend to go with white.
I started with an essential year-round layering piece. This Microfiber Tank is fantastic, and it comes in tons of colors. I own several of these because they go great under blazer and cardigans, and you can wear them dressy or casual. You can also choose to wear them alone since the straps are thick enough not to show your bra strap. I ordered a large in this tank because I wanted it to be loose and not show any lumps and bumps. It is a perfect length, it doesn’t ride up, and it is machine washable. So, I think that covers just about everything!
Look at all the detail in this Indigo Long Tassel necklace. This is a gorgeous long necklace that will also help to create that long, lean look that we are wanting. The length and the tassel will draw your eyes downward, creating the visual illusion of height. I also added my wide Cobalt stretch cuff bracelet. This bracelet reminds me of Lapis, a semi-precious stone that I love, because of the deep blue color and the gold streaks. I forgot to snip the tag off the bracelet before I let the house. So, I had to “tuck” it under the bracelet, but you can still see a tiny bit peeking out. Lol!
The star of the show is this Silk Whimsical Scroll Ruana Wrap with the fringed edges. I have been eyeing this wrap for a while. The colors grabbed my attention every time that I went to Chico’s website. It is pure drama, but I love that it can be worn dressy or casually. The fringe gives the outfit movement, and I love how it swishes and swirls when you walk. Even though this is silk, the website says that it is machine washable, but I would probably hand wash or dry clean. It is too pretty to ruin by accident. This Ruana is sewn on the sides to create armholes, which I like much better than the ones that just hang loose.
The Brigitte line is one of my favorites from Chico’s. I have a lot of different pants from this line in all lengths and styles. But, the Brigitte Textured Slim Crops stood out to me because of the unique detail of the pattern and texture. Yes, I have a lot of white pants, but I don’t have any that are like this pair. I am always looking for clothing that is unique and special, and that is why I love Chico’s so much, they always seem to deliver.
This pair fits me perfectly, but some of you who are new to Chico’s might be thrown by the sizing. I know that I was when I first started purchasing clothing from there. I found out immediately that I needed to size down. So, in a top that I would typically wear a large in other brands, with Chico’s I will order the medium. In pants, I usually wear a size 10, but in Chico’s sizing, I have found that I need a .5. Once you get the hang of it, you will find it so easy to order online and get your perfect size.
I hope that you have enjoyed this look today. So, have you shopped with Chico’s before? If so, then what was the purchase that you just love and find yourself wearing over and over again? Here is a head’s up, today is the last day for the Semi-Annual Sale, so make sure to take advantage of all of the savings!!! Click HERE to see my favorite picks.
I appreciate Chico’s for sponsoring this post and allowing me to tell all of my friends about their beautiful and unique clothing line.
