HOW ARE YOU USING YOUR TALENTS
Do you know what time it is? Apparently, if you ask me this question, you won’t get a direct answer such as, “It’s 6:15.” My husband tells me all the time that if you ask me what time it is, I’ll let you know how to build a watch. Lol! He is trying to say that I tend to tell the back story of everything, and he wants me to get to the point.
If you’ve followed me for very long, you know my love for telling a good story. Many of you probably follow me because I talk about my family, especially that crazy husband of mine. The point of this is (this is what Joe want’s me to get to quickly) what Joe finds bothersome, the Lord has given to me as one of my “talents.”
Talents don’t have to come in the package that we think they should. For me, my talents are talking and telling everything I know and my love for clothing. If you had asked me if the Lord could use my blabbing and shopping for His purpose, I would have told you, “no way.”
I’m sure the “no way” kind of mindset is what ran through Moses’s mind, Gideon’s mind, and even through David’s mind. Don’t get me wrong, I am not putting myself in the same category as those great men, but I’m saying that we can all be used for God’s purpose.
Matthew 25:14-30
14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ 21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ 23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ 26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ A fashion blog does not come to mind when you are thinking about the Lord’s work. It certainly wasn’t on my mind when I started the blog; I just wanted a free handbag or a pair of shoes. I am extremely unqualified to be talking about Jesus and His ministry, so I’m not sure why Sundays have become a day where I do exactly that.
I continue to write these posts; even though they are the least read, they don’t make me any money, and I get a lot of unfollows and snide comments. If I can bring ONE person to the Lord, I am humbled. A lady follows me on FaceBook, and she might even be reading this post right now. According to her, she is an atheist, but she has commented on my posts several times. She recently commented that she enjoyed my Sunday posts, that they made her think and inspired her. I think of her as I write my Sunday posts, and I hope and pray that one day she will comment that she has decided to give her life to Jesus. My mind is blown just thinking about that possibility.
So, no matter how big or small your talent is, the Lord CAN and WILL use it for His good. Think about it, what is your talent? Are you already using it to glorify God? If not, how can you use your talent for the Lord’s work?
To God Goes The Glory
Have A Blessed Day
I love your Sunday posts. They bless me each and every Sunday.
I think being “unqualifies” is exactly what makes us qualified to talk about God. We don’t have to be “qualified” to witness for him. We just have to believe in him. I struggle with witnessing and finding my purpose. Your post gives me encouragement!
I look forward to your Sunday posts. Anyone who knows Jesus is qualified to talk about Him. Thank you for giving glory to Him.
Please know how much these Sunday posts bless me every week! I look forward to them every bit as much as I do your fashion posts! God has gifted you with a generous spirit that is a positive voice in so many ways. Thank you for being a strong woman of faith.
i love this post-keep talking Tania🙏❤️
Tania, I really look forward to your Sunday posts and I pray that you will keep writing them. You see, due to the type of cancer my husband has and how immunocompromised he is, we are no longer able to attend church. Both of us miss it so very much, but the risk is too great. So your Sunday posts help feel the void, so THANK YOU! Have a blessed day!
I love all your posts, even the Sunday posts! I also love your video tutorials!
I thank God for your faithfulness Tania.
Oh, as I have written to you before, I love your Sunday posts! I read it, then my devotional and then church service. Your words are a talent and help me see bible messages more clearly. Thank you! …and I love your fashion too!
Thank you for your faithfulness, I always look forward to your Sunday posts!
