HIT OR MISS – BRIGHTLY COLORED LEOPARDS
I have to admit, I love the new Hit or Miss feature every Wednesday. Any outfit I wear can be a hit-or-miss outfit since one outfit won’t work for everybody. I picked today’s outfit for a couple of reasons. This outfit is colorful, has a busy print, and is a leopard print.
When I took photos of this outfit, I intended this look to be a part of my Very Peri post. But, when I was working on the Very Peri post, I decided not to include this sweater since the purple/blue color didn’t show up that much. I loved this colorful sweater, though, so I thought it would be great for my hit-or-miss segment.
We all know that leopards have spots, but have you ever seen a striped leopard? Me neither, but this brightly colored leopard sweater sure grabbed my attention. This sweater is lightweight but not thin. You can’t see the button-up shirt I am wearing underneath it or the outline of my jeans. This sweater is a great weight for spring, and the colors of the leopards are so pretty; plus, I love the multi-colored striped cuffs.
You can see the length of the sweater in the back here. The sweater is longer in the front and back than on the sides. In some of my photos, I’m wearing the sweater tucked, and in some, it isn’t so that you can get a better idea of the length. I’m wearing a medium in the sweater, and I think it fits great, even with the button-up shirt under it.
I’m wearing a pair of veined Lapis earrings with this sweater, and the deep blue stone looks great with the outfit. The only other jewelry I’m wearing is my Cable Loop David Yurman bracelet because I didn’t want to detract from the print of the sweater.
I thought this would be a great outfit for shopping or running errands, so I added a leather crossbody wallet to the outfit. This is a great neutral color that can be worn with almost anything. The wallet is large enough to hold everything you need for shopping, and you can either wear it as a crossbody or through it in your handbag as a wallet. It is on sale for under $40, so I don’t expect it to stick around very long.
Because I intended this look to be part of my Very Peri post, I wore the same button-up chambray shirt, mid-rise tapered jeans, and Tory Burch ballet flats. You can read all about how those items fit by clicking on the post. I’m wearing a medium shirt, size 8 jeans, and a 9 in ballet flats.
I’m sorry if this post was short and sweet; I’ve had to work at the lumber company for the past few days. The good news is that I got the payroll reports done, and the W-2s have been finished. Woohoo! That is always something to celebrate. I can’t believe I used to work there full time and still manage to work the blog.
Okay, let’s hear it…is this outfit a hit or a miss? Would you wear it? What would you change? I love reading your comments, and I am so impressed by your ideas.

I love the “column” of denim under the sweater. And the sweater itself is adorable. It’s definitely a hit!
So my style. Live the look and colors!
This is a hit for you! It’s flattering and fun and unexpected. I love the colors.
Love it! You look great.
Well, aren’t you the cutest thing! I love this outfit and especially this sweater. It’s a HIT! I would wear it all.
Hit! But I don’t wear sweaters of that kind. I always feel squished by the hem. I’d cimpliment someone else who had talent to wear the perfect color of jeans and shirt with that sweater.
I, too, think the outfit looks great on you, but I would not purchase it.
HIT!!!! A day late, but I just ordered that fun sweater and the earrings! Love! Looks great on you. You pushed me over the edge to order. Had been looking at this sweater. Such an advantage to see it on a woman over 50! Thanks Tania!
I like the sweater. It is a fun print, nicely layered with the denim. When it gets warmer, I would layer it over a tank, too.
I love it! But that sweater is pricey or I’d be ordering it. Darn !
the outfit looks great on you, I love the colors, but the sweater is a little to flashy for me
Sorry for me it’s a miss. You wear it very well but it’s not anything I would buy for myself.
I really like the sweater and the outfit you created with it. To change it up when it’s on the warm side, I would wear a collared shirt sleeve top in one of the other colors, underneath it. You could also wear flats in the same color.
Another Hit!
A hit fir you. Love the stripes on the sleeves.
I think it’s a HIT! Pricey sweater but so cute! Love the jeans and shirt!
Hi. I love the multi colored sweater that you wear. As I am from South Africa I do not know where to purchase something like that. I really like the way you dress.
This is definitely a HIT! This (almost) 71 year old lady would wear it in a heartbeat!
Hit! Everything is a hit for you. Love your style!
I think it it is hit! The sweater is adorable. It is a bit pricey for a novelty sweater.
Very pretty!
Love the look on you, but I think it would read like horizontal stripes on my larger apple shape. I do wish there were more tops with interesting details on the sleeve. very cute!
I love this outfit especially the sweater. It is definitely a “hit” for me!
Love the outfit; definately a hit. And it looks so good on you.
This is not my style
Love it and it looks good on you
I loved everything about it and would definitely wear it! Also, perfect for my casual work wear. I might be mistaken but I didn’t see a link for the sweater. Who sells this?
Connie, I left it out last night. Here you go: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Love this outfit on you! Not sure I could pull it off. I’m bigger on the top so to much pattern usually makes me look bigger😏
I love the sweater and the way you styled it with the denim shirt. I would wear this..though since I live in a hot climate, that will only be in my dreams. I did not like the jeans..too baggy and shapeless.
This is really cute! Love all the colors!
The sweater isn’t for me. Looks cute on you, though. I also own a denim shirt which I love. I style it with black jeans, black belt, black superga sneakers and a black crossbody bag.
Not my style
Love the sweater, love the colors. It looks pretty on you.
You look darling, capital D! I would definitely wear this, love all of it! Way to go, Tania!
Love it, such a chearful sweater and the blue of your shirt and jeans matches so well. Worn with the shoes, hit hit hit.
I love it. It’s one of those shirts that fall into the fun to wear
Miss for me. I do like Jacquelyn’s comment as this fits some peoples personality.
Love this outfit! It is on the pricey side when you include all the pieces. But I love it.
You look great in the outfit! If I were shopping, I probably would pass the sweater by, BUT, seeing it on you and how it looks, I would give it a try!
Total hit for me!
It’s a hit! The sweater length hits just right with the jeans.
I really liked the sweater!! The outfit was nice. I was wondering how a rust pair of jeans would look in contrast to the sweater and demin shirt. Great look!
I don’t think I could wear this colorful sweater, although I do like the coral and blue combination. I’d probably choose those colors in a scarf and add them to the chambray shirt and jeans look. I appreciate your fun outlook and enjoy your daily posts.
I would probably try it on and see how it looks. The colors are great. I would prefer the leopards to be randomly placed rather than in horizontal lines. You’re rocking it!!
This outfit is a hit for me. Colors look great on you!
I agree with Jaquelyn
Love this! The leopard print is a colorful, quirky twist. Very cheery for spring.
This is one of those tops that if I saw it on somebody else like you, I’d think it was cute because it seems to match your playful and funny personality. Personally, I don’t think I could pull it off. It takes a certain type of person to look good in this and I mean that in a positive way. People would just wonder why I was wearing a colored leopard shirt! I do like the denim shirt underneath…it tames the leopards!! And the neutral shoes are a good choice because they don’t distract from the shirt. Colored shoes would just be an eyeful!!
I LOVE the sweater with the denim shirt! It’s different and colorful. Something I would definitely wear.
I’m afraid it’s a miss for me. Not something that I would pick out to wear. If it was in my closet it would be in the donation pile.
I love the colors but the leopards are just a little weird for me. The shirt under seems a little bulky. Maybe a T-shirt that shows just a bit in the V would look smoother.
I really like that leopard sweater on you. It is very clever with all the colors and stripes. It is hard for me to wear a shirt under a sweater because the shirt gets all crumpled and doesn’t lay flat. I would wear a complimenting t shirt. I like your flats too! Have a good day.
Love it!
Love it – its fun
Looks good but not something I would pick to wear for myself.
That sweater is adorable! I love the wink or whimsy of an animal print that actually has the animal, rather than its print! (Especially in those gorgeous non-animal colors.) If I were wearing it, I’d make the whole outfit more casual. So in addition to that (perfect!) denim shirt, maybe I’d add jeans with holes (yep, I do love them!) and Converse tennies. Just to make the outfit less “outfitty,” if you will. I think that would make the fun of the sweater look cool, rather than cute/cutesy. Just my two cents! 😉
I love everything about this fun look! Sure lightens the mood and we need that these days.
I am leaning toward miss but there is something very unique about this sweater… I love the striped sleeve detail. It looks great on you, but not sure I could pull it off.
I finally got up the nerve to comment…….
Whatever you are doing, exercising more, diet, YOU look FABULOUS! I see a difference. Ladies don’t you agree???
The outfit is great, and it’s something I would wear.
I would wear everything in this outfit!
I’ve been noticing your silver beaded bracelet with the little turquoise heart. Can you tell the brand or where you bought it?
Stacy, those are from Tiffany’s, and they were a gift also.
I’m loving Very Peri and this sweater is cute but I probably wouldn’t purchase. It’s a bit busy and the price is a bit high for a top that would be a one or two season wear. A print like that is more memorable so it wouldn’t be something I’d wear often (to rationalize the ‘cost per wear’)
The sweater isn’t for me. At $128 it would need to be a classic I could wear for years. It looks like thin material and I don’t like to layer clothing often. The colors are nice but it’s a miss for me.
And I love today’s verse!
It looks great on you, but I don’t think I would like it on me. I do love the strips on the sleeves. You are looking fabulous!
That sweater is adorable! I am a big animal lover, especially cats, and I think your fashion should express parts of your personality. Very cute!
IT’S CUTE AND LOOKS GREAT ON YOU. HOWEVER, I WOULD NOT WEAR IT. ITS JUST TOO LIMITING LIKE SOMETHING YOU’D WEAR TO A SCHOOL FUNCTION THAT HAD THE LEOPARD AS THE MASCOT.
Love the chambray shirt (of course). I like the sleeves, but feel like the print is too old for me (looks lovely on you!)
I definitely like it better front tucked as it gives you shape with your slightly baggy jeans.
LOVE the wallet! So cute and functiona.
I love the outfit! It’s a hit! Lone the sweater!!!
I love this outfit and it looks super on you. You have been looking very svelte lately. Good for you.
I cannot follow you anymore , I know you all make money on products we buy but a $700.00 bracelet is not something I would buy
Peggy, I’m sorry that you feel that way. The bracelet was a gift to me, not something that I bought with all of the money I make off of products.
Definitely a hit! I would love to order it but it’s out of my budget. Thanks for sharing!
I’m 60 and want to be fabulous and age gracefully. I myself am not a big print person nor do I gravitate towards stripes (we’re built similar, just my choice on prints and what my eyes can handle). However I love this sweater and print….has a richness and love the uniqueness. You look great with the blue chambray shirt color near your face…..I’ve noticed that you look better with deep rich color near the face and this is a great choice. I’m a blond but different skin tone and cannot wear camel color where you can. I just mention this because it’s great to be on trend and stylish but at the same time compliment ourselves with what colors look good on us. You’re a brave person to do the blog and accept feedback.
As a newbie to your blog….love the verses at the bottom of the page, nice way to start the day.
For me, it’s a Hit with it tucked, a Miss untucked but you look great either way.
It’s a hit! The sweater looks great on you! ❤️
I love it! The colorful sleeves add so much. Very cute.
It’s a hit! You’ve got it pulled together greatly. Cute sweater, I’d give it a try.
I would definitely wear the sweater with the chambray shirt! It looks really cute on you as is, but because I am only 5’4”, I would wear it with dark straight leg jeans and booties in a neutral color similar to your shoes.
I was leaning toward “miss” but the more I scrolled through the pictures I’ve changed my mind to a “hit”. It looks good on you.
That sweater looks great on you, but I would feel self conscious in it.
This is a Hit for me ! The sweater print is fun and I love the colors. I think layering with a denim/chambray shirt gives the outfit a polished casual twist.
I’m not sure how I feel about the chambray shirt underneath the sweater. It looks cute on you but not sure it would look as good on me. The jury is still out for me on chambray or denim shirts in general and $128 for a sweater that isn’t a classic I could wear with everything is a non-starter. But I do like your styling!
I think this outfit is a hit! It’s a fun print and looks good on you!
LOVE IT! But, sadly at that price I cannot see purchasing it. Maybe when it goes on sale?? keep up the good work-we love ya Tanya!!!
I would have never given this sweater a second thought seeing it on the hangar but I do love how you have styled it. Still not right for me but you can pull it off.
I love the Hit or Miss series.I would totally wear the sweater and I love how you styled it! It is a whimsical piece but sometimes I need that so my wardrobe isn’t boring and stale.
LOVE IT! But, sadly at that price I cannot see purchasing it. Maybe when it goes on sale?? keep up the good work-we love ya Tanya!!!
Loving the “Hit or Miss” feature every week. I love the colors in the sweater and the style, but don’t care for the leopards on it. If someone gave it to me as a gift, I would keep and wear it. The blue earrings look really good with it.
I am also a fan of this series. It reminds me a little of the “Glamour Don’ts” on the back page of Glamour magazine eons ago. It was the first thing I looked at when my magazine arrived.
The colors are perfect on you. I love all the items but just not together. The sweater looks too big on you ~too wide and too long. I’m also think the shirt collar is too heavy for the sweater. You have worn so many cute /classy outfits and this one is not in their category.
I love the “Hit or Miss” days! The sweater is colorful, & I love the
multi-colored cuffs!! But, the entire leopard thing is far too “busy” for me!!
Blue earrings rings are beautiful!! Might need to purchase those. I enjoy your blog greatly!!
I think this is a Hit. I love the colors and the funness of the pattern. I turned 60 last Wednesday and my husband made me promise I would not wear leopard print, lol, but I think he would say yes to this.
Love it on you! It wouldn’t be a good choice for me because I’m short in the torso and I don’t think it would do anything for my shape.
Love the bright colors!
The sweater is totally not what I expected but I love it; it’s fun, funky and kitschy and who doesn’t need a little more fun in their lives?
I love the leopard sweater and I would (will) wear it!
Definite hit! I love it over the denim shirt for winter but, it looks light enough to wear alone in the spring. I hit the link since I like it that much. The price tag tho…Yikes! Way overpriced!
I love the sweater. It’s fun and I would wear it. I like the length. It’s a hit!
I love the new “Hit or Miss” series. This sweater is so fun. The colors of Coral and Blue together adds the little “umph” that is needed to draw your eye to the design.
I think the sweater looks cute on you! I absolutely adore the striped cuffs. They grabbed my attention immediately. I, however, couldn’t pull this off. I’m top-heavy and the bright leopards would be seriously distorted.🤣
Very cute but not for me.
Love your hit or miss posts. This is a hit….cute and a little crazy.
Love the sweater, did not see a link for it though
Connie, I left it out last night. Here you go: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
It’s a hit for you! You look great in it and I love how you styled it. It’s a miss for me. I tend to wear more solid colors with unique details or accessories because I’m short.
I don’t see a link to the sweater?
Here you go: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
The sweater is definitely hit. I love the colors and the leopards. Where is the link for the sweater? Did I miss it in the post?
Sorry, Laura. Here you go: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Love the sweater!! Would wear same as you with Chambray Shirt. Just ordered it…..
It’s a HIT! love the leopard print sweater & the whole outfits looks great.
Love the colors. It’s a fun look. Yep I would wear it.
Not for me.
I would wear the leopard sweater, I love the colors! I would prefer a different animal like a cat or dog though!
I feel like the sweater is too busy with the leopards and stripes. It is wearing you and detracts from your beauty.
I’m missing the link to the sweater. This outfit is beyond cute! Love the fun factor.
Oh, no! Here you go: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
While you look great, this would be a miss for my personal style. I do like the colors, but not a fan of the actual animal print.
I can’t find the link to the sweater. I love this outfit. It’s a hit with me.
I’ve ow fixed the issue. Here is the link: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Is there a link for the sweater?
Whoops! Here it is: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
It looks great on you. But, I tend to go toward solids.
I love the colors and style of the sweater itself! And i love leopard print…but I don’t think I would actually buy a sweater with leopards on it. But it looks great on you.
It’s cute as can be on you Tania! But for me it’s a miss, the top reminds me of a garanimal matching top we wore as children! 😊
Stay warm, thank you Tania, I absolutely love your blog and all you do for us! You look great! 💕
Hit! Luv the leopards
This outfit looks great on you! I missed the link for the sweater….thank you’
Sorry, I left it out. Here is the link: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
I love the leopard sweater you are wearing today, but could not see a link to the website. Would you kindly provide one? Greetings from Maxville, Ontario, Canada! Warmest regards, Jani
Greetings, Jani. Here is the link: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Love the sweater/outfit!
The outfit looks great and love the colors of the sweater but don’t think I would wear it with the leopard print, wish it just had the multi-colored striped cuffs then I would wear it for sure.
It’s a miss for me, only because of the sweater with animals on it. Animals on clothes are not my thing. Love everything else about the outfit though.
This is a hit. I would totally wear the sweater. Perfect for errand day. I can’t find the link for the sweater
Judy, I love the sweater too. Here is the link: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Sorry it’s a miss for me. But if you love the sweater that’s all that matters.
I love it…but where did you get it? I didn’t find a link
Here you go, Constance: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDmOP
Love it! Cute and colorful outfit!
Nope! It does looks nice on you, as does everything.I don’t care for the leopards wandering about – in any color. Not sure if it’s too “cat lady” for me or maybe leans more matronly than this 62 yo is willing to go. Any leopard print I own is the standard tan/black or a gray/black – but no actual animals. Others will love this and wear it well. It’s not me.
