50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40When I was in 5th grade I was sitting beside one of my good friends and we were talking about what was on the blackboard. She mentioned something on the board and as hard as I tried, I just couldn’t see what she was talking about. Finally, I asked her where she was seeing it. She very nicely pointed it out to me but I still couldn’t see it. Then she took off her glasses and handed them to me and said, “now see if you can see it.” Oh, My Goodness!!! There was a whole other world out there that I never knew existed. I couldn’t wait to tell my mother about my discovery. When I went to the eye doctor it was discovered that I was far-sighted and that I also had astigmatism.
50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40I was prescribed glasses and then, later on, I converted to contacts. Everything was fine until I hit that “certain” age and then things started to change. All at once, I couldn’t see something that I was reading. My contacts were correcting my far-sightedness but I was now forced to wear readers in order to see anything that was up close. I tried buying the cutest readers that I could but they still looked like glasses. I was known to go around with the readers perched on the top of my head or I would just have them on the end of my nose and look over them, and honestly, that wasn’t exactly the look that I was going for. I even noticed that my granddaughter would find glasses laying around and put them on top of her little head.50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40While I didn’t mind that look most of the time, there were times when I really wanted to ditch the readers. Take my son’s wedding, for instance, the last thing that I wanted in all of the wedding photos was a picture of me with glasses on the top of my head or sitting on my nose. My solution was not to wear any which was not a great solution. Every time someone would show me something I would have to squint and try to make out what it said. I would have LOVED to have had this product back then. What am I talking about?50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40 Yes, ma’am, my necklace is, in fact, a pair of reading glasses. I honestly can’t tell you when I have been so excited about a product. I have had these for a while and I have been showing them and using them and getting people’s opinions about them. My mother loved them! A friend tried to take them off of me in a restaurant and wanted them right then and there. This is by a company called My Neckglasses. This gorgeous piece of jewelry can be worn with anything but it also doubles as readers. This is brilliant!!! The Karen is the one that I have on in this photo but there are several styles to choose from. And, just like with other readers, you can choose the strength that you need. 50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40 Here is another style that I liked. This is the Dianna and it can be a magnifying glass when it is closed.  50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40 This has a very small magnet to hold the glassed closed until you want to use them. You can use it as a magnifying glasses or open it up to use as a pair of glasses. 50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40 I used this a lot while I was in Myrtle Beach, especially when we went to a restaurant. A waitress noticed me using them and asked me where I got them. She wanted to try them on for herself. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT | FASHION OVER 40 Most of the styles come in either silver or gold and there are also a few styles that a man wouldn’t feel uncomfortable wearing. I didn’t have any of those with me so Joe just had to use mine. Lol! He didn’t care, he thought it was a cute idea. I know you are thinking, “Okay, how much are they?” These glasses are ALL under $30.00. Can you believe that? Your readers are now “hidden” in plain sight. Lol!

Thank you so much for telling us about this product! I have been trying to decide what to get Mama for her birthday and this is perfect. I ordered the Diana for her. This is going to be the “it” gift for any woman who needs readers.

Love all your blogs and outfits ! Tell me about your closet! ☺️

  4. I wear contacts too and was having trouble reading things close up as well, I went the reading glass route for a while, but at my last eye exam my eye doctor suggested having one contact prescribed for distance (in dominant eye) and one for near vision. It works for me and is cheaper than trying bifocal contacts.

  5. Awesome! Can’t believe someone hasn’t thought of this before!
