The fashion folk have finally hit it out of the park! If you haven’t tried drawstring jeans yet, you’re missing out on the comfiest denim trend around. These beauties have the polished look of jeans but the ease of lounge pants. Think relaxed fit, elastic waistband, and denim. I mean, could it be any better? Here are some great drawstring jeans you’ll want to wear on repeat!
Searching For Drawstring Jeans

Drawstring jeans aren’t exactly new this year, but they have really exploded and become very popular. Last year, I was searching for a pair of drawstring jeans that I liked, and I found several, but they all fell short in one way or the other.
This pair from Loft (no longer available) was too heavy, and I didn’t like the rope drawstring, so they stayed in the store. But the Ooh La La Tee did come home with me. Lol!
I decided to start my search again for the perfect pair of drawstring jeans, and here are the ones I narrowed it down to. Be sure to let me know in the comments which pair(s) you think I should try.
Joe’s Tie-Front Wide-Leg Ankle Crop Trousers
If nothing else, I like the name. Lol! These Cropped Trousers in denim look soft, like your favorite joggers, just more polished. I love that a drawstring tie waist lets you adjust the fit, and the ankle-length hem hits at a flattering spot on most of us.
- Drawstring waistband for a custom fit
- Cropped wide-leg silhouette
- Easy machine-wash denim
Joe’s Tie-Waist Ankle Denim Pants
These Tie-Waist Ankle Pants are a sibling to the trousers above, but in a lighter color, which looks more casual. It still has that cozy drawstring waist, and I have to admit, they look very comfortable. These would be great if you want a pair you can do errands in, but still feel pulled together.
- High-rise fit stays put
- Soft denim with lived-in wash
- Ankle-length for a relaxed feel
Vigoss Baggy Porkchop Pocket Ankle Crop Jeans
Seriously, don’t these look more put together than leggings? These baggy Crop Jeans, pocketed beauties, scream cool without trying too hard. The drawstring waist keeps it casual, and the pockets keep it functional for daily life.
- Baggy fit with practical pockets
- Cropped hem for breezy summer days
- Drawstring waist gives casual flair
Morgan Stitch‑Detail Cropped Wide‑Leg Jeans
How do you feel about these large hemmed cuffs? I’m a fan, but my niece is a “no.” I think it keeps these Cropped Jeans from looking too frumpy. Wide-leg style is breezy, relaxed, and so on-trend.
- Wide-leg cut that skims your shape
- Stitch details for a modern artisan vibe
- A cropped hem is easy to pair with any shoe
Superwide Leg Drawstring Jeans

LOVE. These high-rise jeans give you that iconic denim vibe with a drawstring twist. The wide legs and lightweight wash keep them feeling breezy and summer-ready
- High-rise waistband cinches just right
- Wide-leg silhouette for easy movement
- Lightweight denim feels lived-in and cool
Tilt High-Waist Wide-Leg Drawstring Jeans
With a drawstring waist and flowing wide legs, these Drawstring Jeans are very versatile. Dress them up with a nice blouse, or keep it low-key with a tee. Casual but polished.
- Adjustable drawstring at waist
- Full-length, wide legs for coverage
- High-rise for support and shape
Mighty Drawstring High-Waist Wide-Leg Jeans
I bought my first pair of Hint of Blu jeans last year and loved them! These drawstring jeans are well-made and soft, with that roomy, wide-leg style that lets you feel free. The drawstring waist feels like you’re slipping into something cozy (without looking sloppy).
- Soft yet structured denim
- Wide-leg for movement and coverage
- Drawstring gives you comfy control

These Drawstring Pants bring the slouch-chic of wide-leg trousers into an easy denim style. Great for traveling or casual days when you want comfort and ease.

Madewell is always a solid choice! These jeans have a laid-back, low-slung look with a drawstring waist and baggy legs. Think easy breezy, not too dressy, but perfect for summer looks.
- Light, airy denim for warm weather
- Baggy fit is relaxed and casual
- Drawstring waist keeps them comfy all day

😃 cute jeans. Personally, I’m not a drawstring fan, don’t like the extra bulk especially around the area I’m most likely to try and hide😇
🙂 I like the ones with the seam down the front of each leg.
🙂 I really am not a fan of these type jeans. But thank you for showcasing them for all those who do!!
🙂 The drawstring jeans look cute on the models but not sure they would look good on me. I don’t want to bring any attention to my middle area. Love the ooh la la tee.
:)Found it. Love the look!
I think the tie just adds bulk where none is needed. At 69yo and some thickening in the waistline the last thing I need is more pouch under a top.
Hi Tania,
As a shorter lady I have tried the drawstring jeans (and joggers) and I look like a sack tied in the middle, I think because it doesn’t define my waist but rather settles in around my hips. That said, there are some really cute options here I’d like to try. Thanks!
Found It 😀 I have not been commenting lately but since you asked I will today. The drawstring jeans or any pant. capri, shorts, etc is a NO for me. I dont tuck in my shirt ever. The string hanging down is not flattering. They add visual volume around my waist. Lounge pants are a No for me, for the same reasons. The Pork chop pocket? If you tuck in your shirt you are adding volume to your thighs. The large leg pants, baggy fits are killing your silhouette. Morgan Stitch? These type of pants are a trend which will be here today and gone tomorrow which unfortunately is a waste of money. Im sorry to say as for me, I’m not a fan of any of these. I am looking for Fall clothes at this time because my closet is full of Spring and Summer clothes. I will be buying pants in Fall dark classic colors that will stand the test of time. But that’s just me.
🙂 I Like the concept of the drawstring jeans, especially for comfort! Need to check out the fit of some of these. I feel some are just a bit too baggy though.
I like the full length style, but I’m not a fan of the cropped style. 🙂
