Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By
Today, we’re diving into foot-friendly shoe brands for women over 50. Whether you’re chasing grandkids, strolling the golf course with Joe, or heading out for errands, these shoes are all about comfort, style, and keeping your feet happy. From sneakers to boots to loafers, I’ve found some fabulous options that combine support with good looks.
Let’s talk about how these beauties can make your feet feel pampered and pain-free. If you’ve ever struggled with things like arch support, heel pain, or just need something lightweight and stylish, keep reading. I think you’re going to love these finds!
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Skechers
These Skechers mules are a lifesaver for casual days when you need something easy to slip on. I keep mine by the door so I can slip them on and head out. They’re great for walking Lucy or running out to grab the mail. The rubber sole gives excellent traction, so no slipping here! And if you have foot issues like bunions or need a little extra room, the wide-toe box is a dream. Pair them with your favorite jeans or comfy leggings. There are other colors at the link if you’re worried about keeping them clean.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Brooks
If you’re looking for something sturdy with plenty of stability, Brooks tennis shoes are an excellent choice. These are especially great if you’ve dealt with plantar fasciitis or heel pain, thanks to their ample cushioning and shock absorption. They also offer fantastic arch support, so your feet stay happy even after hours of shopping, cleaning the house, or doing sports, if that’s your thing. Lol.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – New Balance
New Balance has always been a favorite for its durability and classic style. These tennis shoes are no exception, featuring a mesh upper for breathability and a snug but comfy fit. They’re great for folks with wide widths or flat feet, offering plenty of options to customize the size. I think the pale blue is gorgeous, but there are a ton of others at the link.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Dr. Scholl’s
Dr. Scholl’s has been around forever, and they know how to combine fashion with footwear that works. These low-profile sneakers have a sleek look, but I love how modern they are with the platform sole. These would look super cute with a pair of cropped pants and a cozy sweater—perfect for a casual day out shopping. Every color under the sun is available at the link if you’re not a fan of white.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Propet
Have you heard of Propet? My research (yes, I actually do research these fashion topics, lol) says that they’re “renowned for offering a wide range of footwear with a comfortable fit for various foot shapes and conditions.” All I know is that these Mary Janes are super cute. The adjustable straps are great for getting a secure fit, and the cushioned insole makes them ideal for ladies dealing with arthritis or bunions.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – ECCO
I’ve shared about ECCO before! For a polished look, the Ecco slip-on loafers are a winner. The lightweight soles keep them comfy for long wear, and the deep heel cup adds an extra layer of stability. They’re also easy to dress up or down, so you could rock these with everything from jeans to a nice pair of slacks. You can’t go wrong with a black, slip-on loafer. This is the kind of shoe you can wear forever.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Orthofeet
If you need boots that prioritize comfort and stability, Orthofeet has you covered. These feature a roomy toe box, which is a blessing if you have bunions or like a little extra space for thicker socks. The soft cushioning and excellent arch support make them a smart pick for chilly outdoor adventures. If you have a lot of snow and ice where you live, these are a great option. Also available in beige.
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Clarks
Clarks is another one of those brands that’s been around forever. It is known for making good quality shoes that are stylish and practical. These boots are just that! The classic design works well with everything from skinny jeans to flowy dresses. Plus, their durability means they’ll stay in your wardrobe for a long time. I love a good quality shoe that’s not going to be worn out after one season!
Foot-Friendly Shoe Brands Women Over 50 Swear By – Vionic
Finally, Vionic shoes are a go-to for their podiatrist-approved designs and shock absorption. I blog about them all of the time, like here. These boots are especially great if you struggle with heel pain or high arches. The sleek styles look anything but orthopedic, so you can feel fashionable without sacrificing comfort. Absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Tania,
Thank you for always inspiring us over 50 gurls to look our best! Can you share your Bob BQ Bread recipe with us? It looked pretty darn good in the picture and would love to try that at home with my New Years day dinner. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
It will be in tomorrow’s email.
and for those of us who have narrow (hard to fit) sizes, even though they are usually pricey (but I look for the bargains – even on Ebay) I go to VanEli.
Nancy
I am a shoe girl! I have so many pairs that I have stopped wearing because they aren’t comfortable. I’m always on the lookout for replacements – hubby’s rule is “buy a pair, get rid of a pair.” He doesn’t realize that is not a deterrent for me at this point! Thanks for rounding these up!
Clark’s, Sketchers and Vionic are brands I can trust for comfort. I will keep in mind the other brands. I’m glad we can find cute comfortable shoes not like many years ago.
Love my Hokas, ON sneakers and swear by my OOFOS recovery slides and flip flops! I suffer with neuropathy and these brands have made it possible to be on my feet all day. Pricy but worth every penny!
I love the Sketchers mules. Had a pair when I was a a working nurse and loved them. So happy they’re available again.
I have recently discovered Empress flats. They are literally the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. And bonus! They’re cute, too! I was skeptical at first because they seemed a little flimsy, but the soft leather conforms to your foot and the foam
Insert is a game changer.
I always enjoy your blog. Thanks.
I would add Abeo to this list. I wear my Abeo booties all winter, they are so comfortable! Agree with your other suggestions too!
Skechers are my go-to for everyday shoes and I like Lifestride for a dressier shoe.
Joe’s dinner looks so yummy.
How about sharing your recipe for the bbq bread?
I’ll put my recipe in tomorrow’s email.
yay, I was going to ask also for the recipe.
Aetrex has some of the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. They have cute styles that don’t look orthopedic.
I love Aetrex also. They have some stylish choices.
I love your posts and clothing but today the photo of the meal your hubby prepared for pre Christmas dinner ‘wins the award’! Looks delicious! Merry Christmas!
I have problem feet. One I had surgery on 18 months ago and has improved somewhat. The other foot needs surgery. I have bought quite a few pairs of shoes and slippers from Orthofeet. My husband loves their sneakers too. Another brand that has orthotic or supportive shoes Is Aetrex. Their sandals are good.
I really like the Aetrex brand too. I have several of their sandals.
Good morning and what a good article as we look forward to our New Years resolutions:) I have severe foot problems like a lot of us! The brands I love: RYKA. Woman owned and only make shoes for women. For dressier looks: SAS (San Antonio Shoe) they have dress shoes, sandals & boots, American Made, pricey but last for years if not decades, Cushionaire, Dansko, Isla Jacobsen (walking shoes), Softt (boots and dressier). Stay beautiful ladies and Merry Christmas to you all!
Cute shoe selection was at Sheels in Rochester MN & bought Merrell cute clearance shoes.
I have a pair of New Balance running shoes. They are the most comfortable for walking
I’m ordering those Sketchers today!
just got some cute and very warm ankle boots at Famous Footwear, they had so many to choose from! I like those brown ones you posted. New Balance are my favorite sneakers. They’re the only brand I’ve found that have a high enough toe room for my orthotic insert.
Thanks for a very helpful post! The dr scholls time off sneaker looks fantastic and I’ve never tried brooks.
I like Brooks Ghost line and the HOKA’s Clifton style.
We also do a prime rib Christmas dinner – it’s a family tradition that’s been passed down.
Great post. I love Brooks, On Cloud, and Keen.
I wear boots or booties this time of year. I also love Brooks tennis shoes the rest of the year
Have you tried HOKAs? They are so lightweight and supportive and recommended by my podiatrist. And they’re cute! Also I find Dr. Scholl’s boots comfy and stylish.
Yes! I have a couple pairs, and so does Joe and my daughter.
