FLORAL SLEEVES FOR SPRING
My mother told me the other day that you would never know I had a brother by reading my blog. He is the baby of the family and also the “pet.” He is the smart one, he is the witty one, and he is the one that visits them every day. I have no idea why I haven’t mentioned him before. Lol! So, today we are going to talk about my brother, Ellery. I bet some of you are saying to yourself that that is a strange name. My cousins from Michigan actually started calling him that while he was still in Mom’s belly. It was a character on Gomer Pyle and they thought it was a typical “hillbilly” name.
Ellery is twelve years younger than me so I thought I was his mother. I carried him everywhere and doted on him until he got old enough to torment me. He hasn’t stopped yet. Haha! He has come to live with Joe and me twice since we have been married. One time Joe and Ellery were flying back to Grundy. I am sure most of you think of an airport as having long strips of pavement and a nice hanger. That is not Grundy. Now envision an aircraft carrier, that is Grundy. We live in the mountains and the airport is on the top of one of them. That means there is a steep dropoff on both ends of the runway. You have to be a pretty good pilot to fly in and out of and no big planes could ever land there, the runway is just too short. This day was horrible flying weather. When they took off from the Livingston Airport, Ellery had not shut his door very good and it popped open. He had to hold the door closed with his hands while Joe circled back around and landed so he could shut the door. I am pretty sure that Joe had some foul words to say and Ellery probably needed to run to the bathroom. Lol! Anyway, they took back off and flew to Grundy. By the time they got to here the weather had turned bad. The wind was blowing so hard that I could hear it whistling through the windows. I looked out my windows and my weeping willow tree was bent over almost to the ground. I couldn’t believe they were trying to fly in that weather. Joe called me to meet them at the airport and I don’t know who was happier to see them on the ground, me, Joe, or Ellery. Whew!!!
You gurls must have hated my post yesterday. Hardly anyone left a comment. That makes me think that your mommas taught you that if you didn’t have anything nice to say to not say anything at all. Lol! Let’s try again today. I think this one is much better, I hope you agree. I bought this t-shirt the other day at a little boutique in town on the clearance rack. I loved the floral print on the sleeves, it reminded me of Plunder. It was the last one they had and it was my size, I took that as a sign that I needed to buy it. Lol! This is that slinky material and it is super soft and comfortable. Even though I am not a huge fan of black the floral sleeves made the top fun and vibrant. It takes your eye off of the solid color. The shirt is from a company called Twenty Second, that is a cute play on words.
You look beautiful in this outfit and the shirt is very flattering.
Tania I am a new follower. I love the whole outfit on you. The top is adorable. I like it either way, but the half tuck shows “sassy” personality.
Hi Tania, I follow on Pinterest. I’m 64 years young and love all the clothes you wear. I love to wear tunics but find them very hard to find. I can’t wear any polyester so it has to be cotton or linen which really limits availability. I wish I could put my outfits together like you do. Great look
Tania..This is the first time I’ve posted anything. I’ve been following you for awhile..You’re my style go to girl:) I love everything you wear and the way you style it. I’m 60 yrs. old and I’ve just starting tucking my shirt in on some things (in the front) . I love it. It def makes you look trimmer and just cuter…:) It’s a new and fresh way for me so I”m loving it. I love this black and floral top on you either way, though.
Thank you so much, Cindy! I love hearing from readers that have finally taken the plunge and left a comment 🙂
Love the top!!!!! Black looks great on you.
maybe we were all just too dang busy yesterday because I loved your outfit! but I totally get what you’re saying!! I’ve started wearing a lot of the lularoe leggings lately with boots and tunics etc and most people don’t comment which is odd since i’ve always been a jeans kinda girl….which is why I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!! it’s so me! I would
totally wear this and love the half tuck, but I can’t tuck and not have a belt on, it doesn’t feel finished off to me to see the button on my jeans? old
school? probably!! But the half tuck is modern and I do it too! Love the shirt!! You always look great
Hi Nancy! I am a brand new follower and love many of your clothes. A couple of questions if you are willing to share.
Where do you get your clothes?
How tall are you and what size?
Trying to craft a style for myself!!!
Love this look on you.makes you look 10 yrs younger I sew.so I’m going to make something like it,also ordered the blue lace dress you showed, was a great look on you,I’m 65 short, and a size 10,and love your style
I like the shirt half tucked. It’s edgier and more youthful. Love your blog!
I love the half tuck look I just don’t think it looks good on me. Others such as yourself it looks great!
I’ve tried to get away from wearing black, but I’d buy this shirt in a heartbeat if I could. And I like the half-tuck!
I love this tee shirt and you look fantastic!!!
I LOVE this shirt! You really are rockin’ it today, Tania! You look so skinny & young & the jewelry is perfect for this outfit! The only reason I didn’t write yesterday is cause I’m retiring & trying to use up all my 60 days of sick leave that I won’t get paid for! And when I’m home I’m NEVER on the computer! Too much to do! So I’ll go back & find it! Have a beautiful day!
I loved the top, it looks good tucked in or out.!!
This is your best outfit!!!!
Cute! The blouse looks better untucked.
Love your top!!!
Tania, as always you look wonderful both ways! I’ve got a bit more work to do regarding slimming my waist. Perhaps this will encourage me to work harder. lol Thank you, I enjoy your blog so very much! ?
Love the outfit and jewelry both today. I personally prefer the top half tucked. Have a beautiful day.
Dear Tania ….. I love love love this top! What a great way to add some color into a black shirt! I love my black!
Hello, Tania. I’m brand new to your blog. I’m 57 and live in Rhode Island. I love the outfit both ways (you’re lucky you get to wear a shirt even half untucked!). I really like the outfit from yesterday also. I’ve never heard of Plunder nor R & F. I look forward to learning more about the products.
I love your top and prefer the tucked version on you. You look great!
Very cute and looks very flattering on you. You just go ahead and wear the half-tuck, I love it and I wear my tops like that all the time!
Tania – I’m having some problems with some of the Plunder jewelry I’ve ordered in the past. I love most of what I’ve ordered but now 3 pieces have broken the very 1st time I’ve worn them. Could you contact me about this?
Thanks so much!
Robbie
Robbie, no worries! They will take care of everything. It is possible that they changed suppliers so this is information they need to get. I will send you the return form and phone number where you can contact them. As I said, the customer service is fantastic! You will be impressed at how they will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy.
Thanks, Tania! I really appreciate that and look forward to receiving the information. There are 3 pieces (2 bracelets and 1 necklace) that broke. Thanks again!
Robbie
Love this look.
Love your outfit and the blouse tucked in! Super modern and playful. Enjoyed hearing about your brother and your mom! I sure miss mine❤
I love all of your outfits and enthusiasm!! I have lost 66 pounds and started caring about my outfits since I’ve been following you!! ? That says A LOT cuz I DONT do social media. I love ❤️ love your black shirt with floral sleeves! I can tell u have lost weight since I’ve been following you. Keep on inspiring us!
❤️ Kathleen Hrabik , Blackfoot, Idaho
Kathleen, I wish I had “your” enthusiasm. I can’t seem to get my rear in gear to exercise or lose weight. I have just gotten better at “posing” for pictures. I now know how to stand to look thinner. lol!
Tania, bet you got tons of compliments today! Looks like you lost weight and you look 15 years younger! One word… fabulous!?
WOW! I think I love you, Lori! ?
Tania you always look wonderful! My granddaughters keep me soooo busy, but I do read your blog (almost) every day. AND I love it!
You look great in this outfit. Love this top. I prefer it out?
Love your outfit today and yesterday! Wasn’t that the cocoa colored cape? You always rock what you wear! Have a great day!
A little bit late to comment but I have had a loooong day at school here in Lima, Peru. I am loving your necklaces so much!! Great outfit!
I love the shirt and I like the half tuck!
Love the floral sleeves on this top! I’ve been thinking about getting a tee shirt with the contrasting sleeves too. I like to wear my tee-shirts with the front tuck, but I think they look fine either way. I do like the way tucking in the front cinches in a shirt that may be a little too roomy.
I read your post yesterday and liked your outfit, just was too busy at work to comment! 🙂
Have a great Wednesday!!
Tania, I love reading your blog everyday, and you should be ashamed not talking about Ellery, having such a big place in your upbringing. LOL!!
But, I dislike seeing your blog, because I have loved every piece of Jewelry you wear, to include today. I just placed a order again this week, by the
time I am done, I might just have to be part of the Plunder team. LOL The little boxes are stacking up. 😉
That is a great outfit, I like the shirt both tucked in and out. Hope you have a great weather day.
Wow – this is a stunning and slimming outfit. I need one like it! LOL! You look radiant. And I like it tucked and un-tucked. Both are flattering on you. Have a great day!
I love the shirt. Also, like it better with the tuck.
Love this top ! I think it suits you either way…tucked or untucked. Love the necklace too.
really like this casual look. love the top (either way) it really does slim you. where is the best place to get the vigoss jeans and can you comment on fit – TTS? etc. I also ordered some plunder last month when you had the discount – how will i get the 15% off? Sorry for the barrage of questions, love your blog and your style.
I like this look too, Lesli. It is very casual and comfortable. I buy my Vigoss jeans at Maurice’s. They have sales often on Vigoss and I will buy 2 or 3 when they go one sale. I see that you purchased some Plunder on the 31st. I send out the refund checks normally on Fridays. I stay a week behind so that I can make sure I don’t skip anyone. Thanks for purchasing. I hope you like your items!!!
I liked yesterday’s outfit! And commented! But, I like this one so much better. So fun and young looking. Funny about your mom mentioning that you should talk about your brother. Something about mothers and sons…

First, wow! I love this! You look so skinny. I may have to order this shirt. I was on the fence about this particular style of shirt, but you have influenced my once again!
Second, I didn’t comment yesterday and I’m sorry. It’s cute. I think it’s just similar to Monday’s and truthfully, I prefer the pink. That being said, the pink can’t be worn with everything and the neutral works well.
I’m 13 years younger than my sister and 10 years younger than my brother. Yep, she thinks she’s my “other mother.” She most certainly is not. LOL And we are night and day different.
Love this top. I prefer it out.
Love the top. Reminds me of a similar one I had years ago. Now I want another one. Really liked the poncho yesterday too. You look terrific…all skinny & glowing!
Lol! I didn’t hate yesterday’s outfit… but I LOVE ❤️ today’s so much!! Just great, head to toe. A winner! And how fun to read about baby bro ? ?
Have a great Wednesday Tania!
Hi Tania….love your look today! Especially love the shirt (untucked lol) been looking all morning for that company…can’t seem to find it. If you do please post it, I know others have asked also.
Thanks
Teri
Tania I really like this shirt. Funny thing is I doubt I would give it a second look in the store but its really cute with the jeans. I like it tucked in. I always avoid long tops because I’m short but I see from a few posts that’s the reason these women tuck the front in. Once again I have learned a good tip from your blog….thanks to Tania and her follower’s 🙂
Love the top/outfit! Like the untucked version but, that’s because I have a “tummy” that I don’t like to show- lol! Love the jewelry – am trying to better about adding a few pieces each day.
Tania-love this shirt; wish it was available to buy. It is striking on you! Tucked is ok, and trendy, but loose looks better to me. Thanks for your fun blog-I check it almost every day, and love your style.
I love this top!!! It is stunning on you! I would buy it in a heart beat if I ever see it. The black is so slimming yet the sleeves so vibrant and springy-perfect! Loved the Ellery stories!!! Have a beautiful day Tania.
Good Morning from Canada, love your posts!! Your fashion sense is awesome!!
Hi Tania, I love this top. The sleeves really punch it up so it’s not too much black but wow does wearing it untucked give you a much longer leaner look. I’m not really getting how the half tuck look is supposed to be slimming but whatever, you look great.
I don’t comment often, but I do enjoy reading your blog while having coffee in the morning. I have one brother, too. He’s the middle child with 4 sisters….definitely the preferred child! ? He was pampered by all his sisters and our parents growing up.
I did like your post yesterday with the poncho. I thought it was really cute.
The half tuck looks slimming on you cause your tummy is flat. For me I usually prefer not to accentuate that area!
I LOVE this top!! It looks great on you!!! I knew a guy named Ellery when I was in school. This is only the 2nd time I have ever heard that name. 🙂
This is a very cute look. Easy to put together. The necklace is perfect with the top. Just made for each other.
I actually tried to comment a few times over the past 4-5 days but couldn’t.
And this morning everything is in a new format.
Maybe others were having the same problem? That’s why you didnt have comments.
I have noticed that they are doing some site maintenance (wordpress) maybe that is the problem. Thanks so much for trying. 🙂
Very pretty and very Spring. Looks great untucked and since it is black and a bit longer, makes you look long and lean. Beautiful!
Hi Tania, I LOVE this top. The sleeves really make it. I also prefer the half tuck. very slimming.
Got a big laugh from your story about Ellery and Joe flying together! Haha! And I did NOT know you had a brother! Glad he garnered some space in your blog! I LOVE this top!! And I LOVE it NOT tucked. I think it makes you look thinner without the tuck. Straighter lines. Tucking cuts you in half. Love your blog!!
I love, love this look! I just bought a couple of shirts like this off of Amazon and I love them. You are right, they scream Plunder! I like the shirt tucked half in, cute look. Have a great day!
Love this top! And I like the half-tuck too!! Beautiful necklace, think I will check that out.
Love your top. Like it out not half tucked.
Cute story about your brother. He is probably just as happy not to be mentioned. Lol
Congrats on news.
Love your outfit today. You look super skinny! What size jeans do you buy? I’m so tired of the midsize. Any suggestions for a high waisted jean?
I love the comment, super skinny. Lol!!! I buy a size 10 in jeans and I bought a pair of high waisted Rockstar jeans from Old Navy. I like them a lot.
hey debbie,
high waisted jeans/jeggings… try your local marshall’s or ross if you have one…d.jeans are the bomb – usually around $16.99 and various colors and ankle and regular length. You can also usually go a size smaller than normal because of the stretch. good luck.
lesli
I think I found the top online if anyone is interested https://www.groopdealz.com/deal/86477/floral-sleeve-baseball-tee-3-colors- Tania: I hope you don’t mind me posting the link.
Thanks, Sharon!!! I am glad someone found it. I have never heard of that company before.
Cute top – I like the half tuck for a more casual look. I look forward to your posts every day but this is my first comment.
Love the top and wow, it is such a flattering outfit no matter how you style the shirt.
Love your outfits but the last two tops I’ve fallen in love with that you have worn you have bought at a little boutique. Sad face!! Is there anyway you can give us the name brands of the one you are wearing today and the pink and floral one you had on the other day? (Blog with you sister in it.) Maybe they have a way to order online. Thanks!!
Untucked. When I see this silhouette I think long and lean. So pretty on you. Brothers are great! I have one. He is the oldest child in our family. Only boy and definitely a favorite! I have been tortured many times when he was in charge while Mom and dad were out. LOL Jewelry is the right pop for you. Can’t wait to look at new Plunder spring catalog!
Tania,
Love this look, I have been wanting a shirt like that and can’t find the right one. Shirt either way looks good to me. Have a great day, bad weather expected here in South Cackalacky,as we call it, lol . Off to work I go. ?
Hi Tania, you must have the largest closest ever ? LOVE this top wish it was available for purchase. Received my first Plunder order…love it and am getting ready to place another!
Love this shirt. I was hoping it was available to buy – oh well! Looks great on you both ways – tucked in has a little sporty look. Have a blessed day.
I love this top and the whole outfit! It is youthful and slimming. Tucked maybe best put either way works. Jewelry coordinates well. Wish I could find this kind of top on a clearance rack! I used to fly with with my ex. It was a wonderful experience but sometimes you need nerves of steel!
I want that shirt!!!
Glad you are listening to your mother.
I have to, she won’t shut up!!! ?
Love the top, you look great! I am spending the week with my grandchildren and this the perfect outfit for playing on the floor with them and still looking put together for ballet pick-up! The floral sleeves are a great alternative to my usual scarf and t-shirt look. What I like about it is you can still put on a necklace and it doesn’t look to fussy.
I love the half tuck look but the untucked version today makes you look thinner.
Absolutely love the top. Is it possible to provide the website or link?
Tania….you always make me smile and laugh reading your stories. I did not realize you have a brother. You need to include him in your family pics. Congrats on R & F being #1. Now, on with the outfit….I like today’s much better?. It has a Victorian feel to it and the colors and pattern of the sleeves are gorgeous. I prefer the front tuck. I am 5’1″ and when I wear my shirts out or long tunics, it makes my legs look shorter. I also feel the front tuck makes me look thinner and camouflages my middle age “middle”…LOL!!! ~Lisa~
Sorry I commented twice….I thought I lost my first comment….oh well…I made up for yesterday…?!!!
I love your shirt! It looks great on you, either out or half tucked. Great outfit. I enjoy your posts each day – thank you!
Tania, You absolutely make me smile and laugh every morning!!! I did not realize you have a brother and we need to see pics of him too. Conrgrats to R & F for being the #1 company. On with today’s outfit….I like this one much better?. The colors of the sleeves are gorgeous and I like the vintage or Victorian feel this gives. It is casual but feminine. I “LIKE” the front tuck. I am short (5’1″) and when I wear my tops all the way out or very long tunics, my legs look shorter. So this look not only elongates my torso, it makes me look thinner too…..and I think it has a way of hiding my middle age “middle”…LOL!!! ~Lisa~
Cute top! You look great!
Love the top in the untucked version. Have a great day!
Hi Tania, I like the pretty floral sleeved top out! You are lucky to have a brother too, I have 2 and they are great, they taught me many sporting skills, at 55 I can still kick and dribble a soccer ball, kick a footy, play handball, brothers are great! And so are sisters! Love your blog.
Cheers, from Australia.
Love the top!!!! Like both ways but untucked is favorite!!!!
I love this top!! Where can I buy it??? thank you
I like the white stitching on the jeans and having the top half tucked shows it off really well.
Yu look really slender in the jeans, a lovely outfit.
??
Hi! Renee here from Australia. I turned 50 in November and feeling rather frumpy. Probably because it is always so hot here and the heat makes you feel tired. Anyway, I am enjoying your posts and reading your blogs. All your outfits look fabulous. Giving me great ides. Any suggestions for a five foot person?! Thanks so much?
I hear that it has been brutally hot this year in Australia. The heat zaps you of your strength, that is a fact! Thanks for following, I hope you enjoy the blog and tell all of your friends. I am 5’6″, so I don’t have any personal experience with the petite lines. My best advice is to try all styles, you might be surprised what you can wear.
I love that jeans on you! And the floral sleeves are adorable!
I like the tucked in top look better. Cute outfit.
Hi Tania, I’m going to be daring and pass opinion here – I LOVE the outfit with the top tucked in – so super cute esp with those ballerinas!!!
Have a superb day!
xoxo Yvonne
http://www.funkyforty.com
I am a tucked kind of gal too, Yvonne.
I love the top! It looks great with the jeans. You look so slender. Please share your diet secrets. Do you exercise?
Linda, I do not exercise. I “think” about exercising and that is about as far as it goes. ?
HAHA Tania, good answer! I always “think” about it too but never get around to it. But you do look fabulous!
You look sooo slim in the outfit today!! Love the black top w/floral sleeves and the necklace is so chic.
Personally I like the top un-tucked (want it and will look for it online). Great post!
I love the floral shirt. It’s very slimming. I think i perfer this one untucked. Also I liked your outfit yesterday…sorry I didn’t post.
April 5 2017
Re Rodman & Fields, you really do look good ? From Australia
Lyn, honey, we need to get you signed up! R + F just launched in Canada last year and it is already the #1 Skincare brand! Guess what is going to happen in Australia??? Pre-enrollment is free and the big launch is next month. It will launch into Australia on May 14th here which is May 15th there.
Would have to have more info. It’s initial cost that would be my problem., but I would be good at it lol. ?
I’ll send you an email, Lyn!
I really like this outfit, I’m surprised as I don’t usually like flower pattern, Perhaps you make it look so good.lol It must be good as I see all your post,s but have not commented before. Xx
Thanks, Lyn, for taking the time to comment. I know live is hectic so anytime someone leaves a comment I am grateful. Here is the funny thing about this shirt, I am not a floral person either. Hahaha!
I really like this black top and the jeans your wearing… very slimming… I prefer the top out verses the half tuck. I’m not sure how to explain it but in the photo the half tuck seems un-proportionate somehow. 🙂
It is funny how everyone has a different take on style. That is what is so wonderful, you need to make it your own.
Dear Tania, very early good morning from your fan, living in Hamburg/Germany! Still freezing here and so love your floral print shirt with “spring feeling“! Great blog – great style! Have a good day – Angela
Angela, it is so nice to hear from someone in Germany. Isn’t the internet just wonderful? I could never have imagined being able to communicate with someone in another country when I was younger. Thanks so much for following my blog!
Well, after viewing your many beautiful pieces of jewelry, I finally decided to order some of my own. Sadly, they don’t appear to deliver to Canada. was sooooo disappointed. anyway, I will have to be satisfied with continuing to look at them on the computer screen instead.
Love your daily posts!!!
Nancy, you are right. They only deliver in the US at this time. I hope they will eventually be like R + F and expand to our northern borders. If you ever see anything that you can’t live without just let me know and I will ship it to you.
