FALL FASHION WITH SUEDE

50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEIf we are friends on Facebook you have probably already seen me talk about this issue. The issue is insurance or really the rising cost of insurance. I got a letter telling me that our Insurance coverage was changing. Big surprise. The plan we were on was not great but it was sufficient. It had a 2300 deductible and was 80/20 all that for the low, low price of 1490.00/month. The letter states that this coverage is no longer available and the next plan would be to have a 5500 deductible and a 75/25 coverage. For less coverage and almost double deductible, the price was going to raise around 600.00 per month. ?50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEThis is crazy!!! How in the world can people afford healthcare at this rate? My sister joined Samaritan Ministries a couple of years ago as an alternative to traditional insurance. She likes this ministry and has no complaints. However, she also has not had to place a claim yet. A blog reader/friend mentioned that she has recently signed up with Lincoln Heathshare and that she had friends who really liked this ministry as well. I am looking into both of these alternatives and would really appreciate it if any of you have any insight into either of these companies that you would like to share. I do like the idea of people helping people but it is also scary since it is not what we are used to. Dang, that whole out of my comfort zone thing.50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEI know that wasn’t my normal light-hearted story on my blog post, so….. what’s the difference between a Hippo and a Zippo? One is heavier and the other is a little lighter. Lol!!!! I can’t help it, I crack myself up. Onward to the post, today I have a cashmere open cardigan on. This is a basic tan color and will go with a huge amount of outfits. It is getting cooler outside but it is not COLD yet. I love a cardigan to take the chill off and also to hide the fact that I have on a sleeveless top but we will talk about that later. This cardigan is made by Isaac Mizrahi and I like the open front design. The lapels are very oversized and they tend to flap back and forth. Lol! I couldn’t get a picture of them looking the same at once. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEGive me some cute leather jewelry anytime! I have never been a “diamonds” kind of girl. I like diamonds but I love my costume jewelry. I think the issue is that I like to change my look from day to day. I always wear the same two rings but I like to change EVERYTHING else on a daily basis. The Addison earrings are extremely lightweight even though they are made of metal. The Rhiannon necklace has been a fall staple for me. I just can’t get enough of it this fall. I think I am in a styling rut, maybe it is like comfort food. I am falling back on items that make me comfortable. The Ashlyn bracelet is hardly visible on my right arm. It is gold and cream beads with gold dangles. It is on an elastic band for easy on and off. The Celine bracelet on my right arm has a monogram dangle which you can see better in the picture below. I love monogram jewelry. I normally get my last name as the initial because then my daughter and dil can wear them. Maybe that is why you would want to get your first initial instead. LOL!!!50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEThe suede Dooney & Bourke purse is perfect for fall. It is suede which is a material that I associate with fall. It is a great neutral and will go with anything so those of you who hate to change purses, this would perfect for you. There are spans of time when I want to carry the same purse but I try to change it up for you ladies. The sacrifices I make for you. Lol!!

50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEI almost forgot to talk about my sleeveless top. This is one that I bought at a boutique and it is by Umgee. I never put my summer clothing away when the seasons change. If they can be worn with a cardigan, a pull on sweater, or a jacket then I will still wear them. I don’t like to limit my wardrobe if I don’t have to. My jeans are from Kut from the Kloth and they are the Diana style. I am a fan of dark navy denim and also skinny jeans. That makes this pair practically perfect in every way. Lol! I know that all of you are not fans of skinny jeans so I will link to a couple of other styles that might catch your fancy.

50 IS NOT OLD | FALL FASHION WITH SUEDEToday’s thankful alphabet letter is “H.” I am finding that I am paying more and more attention to things that I am thankful for throughout the day. I like this newly found trait. So, today I am thankful for my House. It is not the biggest or the fanciest but it is warm and toasty. I am also thankful for my hair. Lol! In the winter time, I know several men who wish they had some because their heads are cold.

  1. After your recent posts, am definitely going to be looking for a tan/neutral cardigan. I have enjoyed seeing how you style it. I am in education and apparently the insurance for those who are retired are better than for those of us who are still working?? Am hoping to hang on for a couple more years to see..but things will probably change again before then. It has really become a racket..can’t live with it but can’t afford to take the chance to live without it. Will be interested to see what you discover.
As for “h”, I am thankful for my home, holidays, and my hair dresser. ?

    1. I am not sure who is profiting but someone is taking us all to the bank. I don’t mind paying for what I get but I don’t like being taken advantage of either.

  2. I am too distracted by your enormously long eyelashes to even focus on the rest of the pictures. Wow! Lash Boost has done wonders!

    1. That made me spit my coffee out. You owe me a new laptop. Lol!

We are dealing with insurance issues at my place of employment also. We have been told that our premiums are going up 29% next year, so our 1% raises won’t even touch it. We will be making less pay next year than we are now. I am trying to support 4 on a $24,000 dollar salary, and it is very hard! If you find out any information on the two companies that you mentioned please let us know. I have been thinking seriously about looking for insurance on my own and not going through the agency where I work. My “H” word is, Home. I am Thankful that I have a roof over my head, it isn’t the biggest or the fanciest home but it is mine. Thank you for your wonderful blog and for making me Smile on a daily basis. Much Love to you and your family!! Hope you have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!

    1. I hate that everyone is dealing with these issues. When you look at food, gas, and insurance there isn’t a lot left over for anything else. I am thankful for all I have been blessed with and I think there is a better way out there. I will do a blog post later on what we decided and why.

  4. We use Liberty Healthshare . However we haven’t had a claim yet either. I have no reason to think that it wouldn’t go smoothly however, especially since we have no pre existing issues

    1. Debbie, have you had to use their card? I just wondered how well it would be received.

      1. Debbie Smith says:

I have been to couple of dermatologists this year. I had to pay both of them but they gave a cash discount (which is fine with me). One of them has a sign on his reception desk that says ‘If you have Obamacare insurance, you are responsible to file. We don’t take it”…lol

      2. Debbie Smith says:

Another thing …our deductible is $1000 for both of us. We have come in under that this year so far (THANK YOU JESUS), but that is such a low deductible which is so unusual anymore. Everything month they show us the first names of the the people who receive our share and we have the opportunity to communicate with them. I always pray for whoever it is.

    2. I just signed with Liberty Healthshare. Had a friend that just gave glowing reports. Good Bye BCBS!

  5. Love your outfits and look forward to reading your blog every morning. On the insurance, mine runs the same as yours. Once you turn 50 the price will climb very fast. I have to keep mine due to the fact my husband has heart issues, they sent me to Obama care and I definitely couldn’t afford that. It was more.i turn 65 in May and I’m so excited because I will get Medicare for around 500 a month but my husband is only 62 so we have to wait. I’m excited turning 65 so I can get less expensive insurance, now that’s funny.

    1. Deb, I agree with you that turning 65 is not a bad thing. Lol! It is almost like when we looked forward to turning 21. There is a blog title for someone. 65 is the new 21! Lol!

  6. I have a good friend in Kentucky who uses Medi-Share for her family of 6. She highly recommends it. She is self-employed as a therapist and her husband is a preacher.

    1. My cousin messaged me yesterday that he uses Medi-Share also. They are on my list. Thanks for letting me know.

  7. I am only 5’2 and what I consider heavy, what are your suggestions for cardigans or sweaters. I feel the long ones may not be becoming. I have been a follower since the beginning and I think you look younger now than when you started. I am an email subscriber and never miss a post. Your style is full of new ideas, you are entertaining, interesting and inspiring and your Sunday blogs are wonderful. I have shared them on my church Facebook page. Thank you for all the effort you put into your “creations” and I wish continued success for you and the happiest of Holidays! HUGS

    1. Rhonda, I have all kinds of cardigan from the crop version to the long, long version. You will need to go to a store and try on several to see which length suits you best. I think the medium length will probably work best. That is the one that hits around the thigh area. Thanks so much for being a faithful follower. I do try to do my best with what I think you gurls would like to see and make it as affordable as I can.

      1. You do a great job and keep it interesting and affordable! Thanks so much
I will go and try some on! I bought a blanket scarf, that should be interesting for me! LOL

  8. Health Insurance.?. We have been fighting this evil for a few years now, really since it was all changed from free market and open competition. We are a family of 3, good health, non smokers, and we pay $1,900 per month for a $5,000 deductible and 70/30.?. We make under $100,000 a year. Health insurance is over 25% of our income. Maybe you could do a blog post if you find something great.?

As for “H”, I am thankful for my health, my daughter’s health, our home (very small 1300 sq. Ft.), and all of the hero’s of our great country. ❤️

    1. I know Gina, we had a deductible of around 250 when all this mess started and I think our premium was around 600-700. I remember thinking that was high. Lol! I really hope that someone reads this and can shed some light.

  9. Kim Stephenson says:

Home. We downsized about 3 years ago. Our realtor thought this house would be too small but we looked through the window, saw all the light coming in and fell in love. It’s airy and bright, lots of white and light wood floors. We are a happy family… Lots of singing and dancing.
Beautiful energy . I’m thankful always for our home.

    1. Kim, Joe and I live in 3 rooms in our house. We sleep in the bedroom, eat in the kitchen, and play in the computer room. All the rest is fluff.

  10. Gorgeous Top and the colors accent your blue eyes. The company I work for is changing our health insurance in January 2018 with a higher premium (and higher deductible too). I am curious to know what you find out about the two you mentioned. Please email me and let me know. My “H” words are “Health, House, Hair and Heart” and of course I have a few more. ~Lisa~

    1. As I laid in bed last night waking up with a new H word all night long, I thought about Husband. I am lucky and blessed with my husband of 31 years and I can’t believe that it took me hours to even think of that as an “H” word. Lol!

      1. Excellent one !!! I cannot believe I did not think of that one either….I will not tell my amazing husband that I forgot. LOL!!! ~Lisa~

    2. Hello. Try researching MEDISHARE. It is a Christian based sharing program that has been in service at least 20 years. Just another option. God bless:)
