I DON’T WANT TO GO TODAY
How many times have you said, “I don’t want to go today”, when talking about church? I’m tired, I’m sleepy, it’s too cold, it’s raining, or it’s snowing. All good excuses, but that is just what they are, excuses. When you think of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, it makes most of our excuses seem paltry.
I think attending church is needed for your own well being, however according to Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” So, with that in mind, Sandy, Bertha, and I will be having a worship study as we travel back to Virginia tomorrow.
One Sunday morning this lady went to her son’s bedroom door, knocked, and told him to get up it was time for church. She went back in a few minutes and yelled again. Still no response. She banged on the door and said, “Don’t make me come in this door and drag you out of bed.” This time there was a mumbled reply of “I don’t want to go.” “You have to go” she told him, people will be looking for you, you need to get ready.” Again her son said no. “Why do I have to go?” The lady replied, “Because your the Preacher!” Haha There are times when EVERYBODY needs a little extra encouragement.
The church I attend will be having “A Week Of Triumph” this coming week, leading up to Easter Sunday. It will kick off this Sunday with Friend Day. The day when everyone is supposed to invite someone to church. So, I am inviting all of you, not to my church, but to “A” church. If you have not attended church for a while, let this Sunday be the day you start back.
Here is a really cute invitation to church.

Have a Blessed Day!
Thank you so much for the reminder, I always look at what your wearing, but hardly to what you say! to busy, it’s raining, it’s cold 🙂 just excuses. But you are right sister, our mission is to reach the lost! so thank you so much for the reminder to invite people to church. God bless you 🙂
Cute video!
That video is too cute!!
I agree with you that attending church is a great way to worship, but I also believe we can worship God anywhere and everywhere. We shouldn’t go to church just because we feel guilty if we don’t have a good excuse to stay home. It shouldn’t feel like a chore or an obligation, but an honor and a privilege. I also believe that every once in awhile, when I just don’t feel up to going, God doesn’t love me any less. Nor does He love me any more when I do go. His love and grace are not dependent on anything that I do or do not do. It’s all about what His son did for me on the cross. Nothing I could ever do could make me good enough to deserve the propitiation for my sins. Thank God I don’t have to be good enough…I just have to be forgiven. And praise God I am!! I appreciate your openess about and your willingness to share your faith. Have a great Easter week!
Love that video! For me, it’s not so much not wanting to go too church. It’s the getting ready part, showering, dressing, etc. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to go in our PJs, robes and slippers?! I’d never be late again, LOL!
