50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYI can’t believe this week is already going by so fast. I know it is only Tuesday but I am a trying to get everything done so that I can head out of town again on Thursday. I am not a big traveler but it seems like I have been gone so much in the last few months. For some reason, I tend to travel more in the fall. I will be going back to Tennesse for the grandbabies birthday party, I am traveling to Charleston, SC for a Rodan + Fields mini convention, my sister has a vintage fashion show in Georgia, and then there is Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whew! That wears me out even thinking about it.50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYJoe and I are leaving on Thursday going to Panama City for the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam. If you remember from last year, we were on our way there when it got called off because of a hurricane. The weather is not looking very good for the event again this year but at least there is no hurricane this time. Unfortunately, Houston and Texas are getting the horrible weather this year. I love the coastal areas but it must be so hard to have to worry about the threat of a Hurricane all the time. Every place has its problems though. Some areas have avalanches, earthquakes, poverty, drought, tornados, etc. 50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYNow is a fantastic time to shop for next year. All the Labor Day sales will be happening this coming weekend and it is the perfect time to buy summer items. I love clothing but I don’t like paying a lot of money for my clothing so I always check out the sales racks first when I go into a store. I buy a lot of things that I may not wear until the following year but that is alright by me. I just hang it up in my closet and it is like Christmas next year when I start pulling out new items. This top is one of those items that I bought on the sales rack. This is super cute and was only 15.00. WooHoo!!! It has embroidery on the top which is a trend for this year and I predict that it will still be popular next year.

50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYI love the Ashton earrings and you see me wearing them often. I love the open weave design and the way they move as you go through the day. These have a longer drop which is 3 inches but they do not look overwhelming. At 14.00 they are a real steal! I have on the Jefra necklace which is a dainty gold necklace that has an “S” stamped on one end. I also have on my Leslie bracelet that says BLESS. This seems to be my go-to bracelet here lately. I love the red beads that dangle and the attached cross.
I always have the hardest time getting my monograms to show up in my pictures. I don’t think it is the jewelry’s fault, I think I am putting it on the wrong way. I have had the Celine bracelet for a long time and I wear it all the time. I love monogrammed jewelry and this goes with everything. I opened a new Plunder party under the name tania15 so be sure to pick that one if you go shopping for this really, really cute jewelry.50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYWhen I went to Alaska to visit my daughter in July my navy leggings didn’t make the trip back home with me. I have been on the lookout for another pair that I liked. When I bought the top I have on, and a few others, I also bought this pair of leggings. I have a tip for you, leggings come in one size fits all or plus size. I usually buy the plus size and here is why. There is so much spandex in the leggings that they still hug to your leg but you don’t create the muffin top at the waist line if you size up. That is my PSA for the day. Lol!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYYou might have noticed that I am not a “dolled” up today and that is because this is what I wore on Saturday to get my manicure and pedicure. I have no idea what this color is because they have quit putting the name on the bottle. All I know is that it is color number 225. I think it is a dark cranberry color.50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYI don’t have very many red shoes. I have actually been looking for a cute pair for the fall. I would love a pair of pumps but finding just the right color of red is so hard. This is a pair of Marc Fisher t-strap sandals that I bought at the overstock store in town.

50 IS NOT OLD | YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET ALL DOLLED UP EVERYDAYI am a busy lady. I know that a lot of you feel the same way that I do. I can’t imagine taking on one more thing but then I do and I somehow find the time. Yes, I work full time. Yes, I have a blog. Yes, I have a life and I can still have time to work my “side” business of Rodan + Fields. I have had a few ask how does that work so here is an example:

How much time does it take to run a Rodan + Fields business?

  • To make a Facebook post? – 3 minutes
  • To respond to a message? – 3 minutes
  • To send a message? – 3 minutes
  • To have a conversation? – 15 minutes
  • To train a team? – 10 – 30 minutes
  • To have coffee with a friend? – 60 minutes
  • To listen to a training call? – 25 minutes

? To make deliveries? No time. We don’t make deliveries.
? To sell your inventory? No time. We don’t carry inventory.
? To throw parties? No time. No parties required unless we want to.
? To place an order? No time. Our customers order from our websites.

Bottom line . . . on an average day, I run my business successfully in 20 to 30 minutes. The real question should be, “what else would I be doing in that 20 to 30 minutes that would be making me money?” Look at your day and think about how much time you spend doing nothing. Nothing that brings you any income at all. Email me and can set up a call, that is in my conversation or coffee time. Lol!!!

You know when you put a post on FaceBook you wait to see if you will get any “likes” or “hearts?” That is how I feel about my blog. Leaving a comment and pinning a picture to Pinterest is my equivalent to a “like.” If you share my post on FaceBook that is a “heart.” Show me some love, gurls!!!

  1. I just have to ask this question, how do you actually run the Rodan & Fields business?? My friend is also a rep, don’t know if you’ve ever met Karen Thigpen from Jacksonville, Fl., but anyway, she has asked me many times to become a rep. My real questions are, once you’ve sold products to your friends, family, & co-workers, where/how do you get new business? How could someone really start this? By the way, I have saved your pinterest pics for a while now, and just finally subscribed to your newsletter. Love it!!

I’ve been checking out your blog for about a week now…I googled fashion for over 50’s for some ideas on what looks good for the over 50’s and your blog came up so I subscribed to receive it to my email. I’m really enjoying seeing the many different clothes/outfits you are wearing and getting ideas for myself. I’ve never been a big jewellery wearer and so that’s a challenge for me as it feels way too dressed up. I do like colour though.I also enjoy reading your blogs on Christianity as I too am a Christian. I live in Australia so we are heading into Spring. Thanks

Just started following you and love your blog! I have a daughter named Emersyn spelled the same way as your granddaughter. How crazy is that! ?

  5. Great outfit. I hope you have good weather this weekend. Just got back from a month on Mobile Bay and Gulf Shores – not too far from Panama City. Wear the coolest clothes you have because the heat is brutal. Only reason we were there in August was due to a family wedding. Safe travels to you and Joe.
