This afternoon I looked outside and saw this really big gray cat out at the pool. It is one that I see in the neighborhood all the time and it is occasionally on the patio eating my cats food. I wouldn’t have even paid it much attention except it kept looking in the pool. I went to the window to get a closer look and I could see something moving around in the pool. I was afraid it was a snake but I could see it was too big for that. I was wondering in the back of my mind if one of the ducks that swim in the river in front of the house had landed in the pool. I ran to the back door and made Emersyn and the dogs stay in the house. As I made it outside onto the porch I saw whatever it slowly sInk to the bottom of the pool. I went running and jumped into the pool, clothes and all, to get a very large wild rabbit out of the pool. Unfortunately, it had already drowned, so I laid it on the concrete and then tried to pump the water out of it. I kept pushing on its sides and I could see the air coming out of its nose but it never came back. I really wasn’t too sure exactly how CPR on a rabbit worked anyway. If I had only been there 1 minute earlier I could have saved it. That is our first casualty in the pool other that an occasional frog. Emersyn was quite amused when I came back inside the house because I was dripping wet. She said, “NeeNee, don’t you know you are supposed to put on a bathing suit before you get in the pool?”
Today I have on a denim tank top from Cato’s Fashion. It was one that I bought back in January or February but it is just now getting warm enough to wear it. I like how this has the tulip style hem on the bottom. That is the unique detail that I liked on the top. I also liked that it had really wide straps and how the material was a little nicer than just regular denim.
This is a unique necklace. This is a #theladiesofthetravelingnecklace from Kay and Star. You have seen me wear several items from Kay and Star before. I love this mother daughter shop on Etsy because their items are affordable and very well made. This Coptic Cross necklace is so different and beautiful. It has adjustable leather straps so you can decide the length you want. It was a real shock when this necklace came in the mail and I opened a new purchase from Plunder to see that they matched perfectly. I have on the bracelet from Plunder which is part of a special called Julius. The beads are identical on both pieces except the ones from Plunder are a little larger.
The earrings I have on are just 8.00. These are called the Addison and Plunder calls this color mustard. I would have probably called it tan, it doesn’t really have yellow in it.
I have mentioned several times that you need a good neutral purse. This one is an off white, winter white, or a cream. I would be horrible at naming items to put in a catalog. Lol! My Isaac Mizrahi pumps just match the purse. These shoes are a wedge style which is one of the most comfortable style shoes with a heel.
I love linen pants in the summer. They are casual and easy to wear not to mention cool. This pair is 58% linen and 42% rayon and also they are machine washable. I bought this drawstring pair at Cato. The only thing I don’t like about drawstring pants is that they don’t usually lay flat in the stomach area. I noticed that these were bulky in that area so I will probably only wear them with a longer top in the future.
How many of you remember full-service gas stations? Those are something that you don’t see very much any longer. Have you noticed that even the cashiers in our grocery stores and Wal-marts are being replaced by the self-check out lanes? I also recently heard that banks are looking at replacing the tellers with machines where you could do all your banking on them. I know the coal miners and the auto workers are being phased out by automated machines. Then I just read about another round of clothing stores that are going to be closing stores. This is a trend of things coming, not in the future but right now. Businesses like Amazon are becoming the new normal, you can order all your toiletries, hair products, clothing, tools, etc from one place without leaving your home. The problem is that all those people who used to work at the gas stations, the grocery stores, the banks, the coal mines, and the automobile assembly lines are now out of a job. Can you imagine a television screen where one teacher can broadcast into 10 or 20 different classrooms at once? The sad fact is that none of us is very secure in our jobs anymore. That is one reason I wanted to start a blog so that I could work from anywhere and that is why I love the business of Rodan and Fields. It is ahead of the curve with the anti-aging skincare market. You don’t have to rely on the department stores to remain open in order to purchase your products and your business is only hampered by how much effort you want to invest. If you, or someone you know, are in jeopardy of your job being phased out I am willing to tell you what is possible. Just message me with any questions.
