50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYWOW! I mean, WOW! You guys are awesome and so sweet. I can’t believe all the wonderful comments that you made on National Leave A Comment On My Blog day. I may have to have one of these monthly. Haha! It is really special when someone takes a few minutes out of their busy lives to leave a comment. Some are funny, some sweet, some critical, some praising, and some heartbreaking. This is how we are, we are a little of all of those things. I am grateful that you follow me and I want to express that to each of you.50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYI am going to tell you about my outfit today and then I will answer the questions about Plunder and Rodan and Fields. If you couldn’t care less about learning more about either of the companies, then you can look at the outfit and be on your merry way. 50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYI want to start by telling you about this adorable top by Easel. I bought this back a while ago at the overstock outlet store in town and I haven’t worn it till today. Let me say, “I AM IN LOVE!” I love the color, love the fit, and love, love, love the flirty ruffled hem. I think I would call this color lavender, it is not a pastel but not vivid either. This is a soft jersey knit and if feels fantastic. I know with a lot of items made out of this material you have to watch and make sure it doesn’t show every bump and lump, but this fits great without being too clingy.

50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYI think the reason I like this outfit so much is partly due to the scarf. I have no idea where or when I bought this scarf but it is the perfect color for this top. The lavender colors blend seamlessly and the pop of fuschia really brightens the whole look.

50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYI carried my black GILI bag because it is my favorite bag right now. I carry it almost daily because it is big, it is black, and I LOVE the tassel. I will sit around and pull on the tassel without even noticing it. Gracious, I am a little weird.50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYOver the knee boots! Who has them? I like them but if you are short then these are not for you. I have long legs so I can wear them fairly well but to make your legs look longer I would wear something else. These are suedette material, flat, and they have a rounded toe.

50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYThe dark gray pants are pixie pants by Old Navy. I bet you are starting to think that I don’t have any other pants than pixie pants. Lol! I swear I do, but when I like something I will buy multiples of it. Does anyone else do that? I like a top so I go and buy it in three other colors. It is the same with pixie pants because I know how they fit, I can pick up a pair or two when I go shopping and never have to try them on. I love that!

50 IS NOT OLD | COMMENTS AND GIVEAWAYNow, for the answers to the questions and then the winner!! First I will start with the questions that would apply to both companies. Plunder and Rodan and Fields are both direct sales companies. You do not have to buy inventory, collect money from customers, or make deliveries. Customers can log in to your website and place their order, pay, and have it delivered to their home. Both companies are run by women. Plunder is the brainchild of Hillary Wall Adams and Rodan and Fields is the brainchild of Katie Rodan and Kathie Fields.

Minimum Requirements: In both companies, you DO NOT have to sell anything! You can sign up for the personal discounts and you never have to meet a monthly minimum. There are monthly website fees that are associated with both companies. Plunder charges a $10.00 monthly fee and Rodan and Fields charges a $24.99 monthly fee. This is for your website where you place orders, your customers place orders, and where you can keep track of everything in your business. Rodan and Fields offer the first month free when you sign up with them.

Shipping Outside the US: Plunder only ships in the US at this time. Rodan and Fields ships in the US and Canada and is expanding into Australia around March or April. Expansion for R & F is slated for Asia possibly next year.

Discounts and Commission: When you make a purchase from Plunder you pay the full price of the item, however once a month you will be paid commission on all purchases (including yours) monthly starting at a 20% rate. The commission rates go up once you meet certain requirements. Rodan and Fields do offer a discount when you make a purchase at approx. 25%. That commission rate also rises based on certain requirements.

Allergies: Plunder is hypoallergenic and nickel free. Rodan and Fields may contain ingredients that some people might have an allergic reaction to, however, they offer a 60-day money back guarantee so you will never have to pay for something you can not use.

Time Commitment:  You can choose how much time you spend working on your business in both of these companies. YOU are the CEO! YOU are your own BOSS! You will also see results based on your commitment. Let me put it this way, after the first of the year, you join the gym to get in shape. You hardly ever go and you don’t exercise. At the end of the year are you going to be surprised that you are not in shape?

Do You Have To Use FaceBook: No. You do not have to use FaceBook or any other social media to advertise your products with either company. However, you do need to get the word out that you are a consultant or stylist with the company. Plunder stylist can have jewelry parties, set up as a vendor at events, or take up a catalog party. With either company you need to talk to your friends, no one is going to come and knock on your door and ask if you are selling something. You do need to advertise in some way. Texts, calls, cards, etc. are all good ways to get the word out. Wearing your jewelry is the best advertisement there is and when your face glows, people notice.

Sign Up Kits: Plunder normally offers 10 pieces of jewelry in a startup kit, thank you cards, invoices, and catalogs all for $99.00. In January, they are offering an additional 3 pieces of jewelry as a special offer. You never know when incentives will be offered so you have to take advantage of the deal in front of you. Rodan and Fields offer three different sign-up kits. 395.00, 695.00 and 995.00. All these kits come with a variety of products and business forms. The 395.00 kit includes two regimens plus other items, 695.00 includes four regimens plus other items, and the mack-daddy 995.00 kit includes all the regimens plus, plus, and plus. There is another way you can join that only cost 45.00. However, you do not get ANY product but you can purchase at the discounted rate.

Place an order: To place an order with Plunder you can go to my website www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens however, I normally have a party open and the name changes often. At this time my party is www.plunderdesign.com/party/havefaith I have to change the name every time I open a new party and you are not allowed to use a name that has been used before. I am going to try to use an inspirational phrase, that way every time I type the name, I will be reminded. To place an order with Rodan and Fields you go to www.tstephens5.myrandf.com

Incentives: I like giving incentives! I offer a 10% discount on every order over 50.00 with Plunder. I am also offering to reimburse up to 50.00 off of your start-up kit when you join my team. This is an incentive and not a refund. In order to redeem the 50.00, you must meet certain goals. Message me if you are interested in learning more. With Rodan and Fields, the discounts change periodically. If you are interested in purchasing something feel free to message me and ask for a discount and see what I can do. I am also offering an incentive with R & F when you join with one of the business kits, 395.00 and above. I will reimburse you half of your start-up kit if you meet certain goals. Message me if you are interested. If you are only interested in getting the discounts and not in building a business, then I will refund you $50.00.

Plunder questions: Plunder does have spiritual mottos. They have an entire line of necklaces and bracelets that can be found under the Inspiration tab. Lanyard: Plunder offers several different styles of lanyards to choose from. The basic pearl set, the Jane, the Noah, the Wilmetta, and the Gertrude. How heavy are the necklaces? Some of the necklaces are heavy. You can tell by looking at some of the items, but if you order something that you do not like you can return the items for a replacement, exchange, or refund within 30 days of purchase. After the 30 days, you can submit a return form. What is the Posse? Plunder does not offer a preferred customer program like R & F, instead, they have the Posse. This is a monthly subscription plan where you receive an item(s) each month for $25.00. This includes shipping, handling, and taxes. You may cancel at any time without any penalty.

Rodan and Fields questions: Is R & F good for Rosacea? R & F has the Soothe line which is what most people who have issues with redness or sensitive skin use. Payment Plan? There is no payment plan at this time. You can purchase on a credit card and make payments in that way. Compare to Mary Kay? As I mentioned earlier, R & F does not carry inventory, collect money, or make deliveries. Mary Kay is a company that I always considered a cosmetic company that has some skincare and R & F is a skincare company. What is a PC? PC stands for preferred customer. As a PC you will receive a 10% discount and free shipping and handling on every order that is over $80.00. There is a one-time charge of 19.95 and you will be enrolled in a 60-day auto-ship plan. You can change the products you wish to reorder, you can delay the shipment by 30 or 60 days, and you can cancel at any time with no penalty, you would just have to pay the 19,95 again should you choose to rejoin. Lash Boost? This nightly eyelash conditioning serum features a unique proprietary formula that improves the appearance of lash volume and length for lashes that are 100% real, 100% yours. I put this picture on my personal FB wall and a follower encouraged me to show it to everyone. This is me up close and personal. Haha! You can see every pore, every wrinkle, and even the blood vessel in my eye. You can also see how long my lashes are getting. I started in October using the Lash Boost and I am still on the first tube. Lol!

I may have rambled, this was a lot of questions. I hope I answered everyone’s question and didn’t bore you too much. If you have any additional questions, or if I forgot one, just let me know.

Now that I have subjected you to THAT, I guess I had better give away some Plunder. According to SIRI, the winner or the $75.00 Plunder shopping spree is Karen Gifford! You will soon be receiving an email from me.

I finally got to an Old Navy and bought some Pixie pants. I love them!! And I found a couple of cute tops as well. I live in the country and the closest one is a couple of hours away, but I’ll add it to my list of places to shop when I “go to town.”.

  4. I’m on your mailing list, and enjoy your posts, but I never thought about following you. I now follow you on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and Bloglovin’. Shared on FB, and Twitter. Everybody should find and enjoy your posts. 🙂

  5. Purple is one of my favorite colors. I really like how you put this outfit together. It reminds me of spring – my favorite season.

  6. In regards to ´over-the-knee boots´..I´m short(5´1¨)and I have two pairs of over-the-knee boots and I get compliments all the time. They look good on anyone at any height 🙂

    1. Good to know, Tammy. I have just had so many ladies tell me they were too short to wear them. I guess it is their comfort zone not letting them try.

  7. Maxine Bower says:

LOVE LOVE the outfit! And where and how soon can I get Lash Boost?

    1. When you place an order it is delivered by FedEx in 5-7 days. Be sure to sign up first as a PC and get an additional 10% off plus free shipping and handling. If you have any questions email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

  8. Jan Brown says:

I am so glad my sister told me about this blog-I love it and you make me smile with your comments love to shop also -most closets and jewelry-scarfs look like all my stuff-ha !!

  9. You look amazing in this color! I’m seriously over the top with the results I’ve had with lash bash!

    1. I know Shelly. I was a little skeptical at first but I am so glad that I went ahead and ordered mine. I have another tube waiting on me already so I don’t run out. Lol!

  10. Susan Stancliff says:

Love the cute outfit. Also, which RF product did you start with? I can’t decide if I should do the redefine or the reverse system. I do have dark sun spots and large pores but also fine wrinkles. Any advice?

    1. Susan, when I started out I started with Reverse because I wanted rid of the sun spots. When it came time to re-order, I decided to join so I could get two regimens. I had been wanting to try the Redefine regimen so this was the smartest move and I was going to be able to buy my products at cost. I never meant to sell anything. In fact, I didn’t even know what people on the blog were meaning for a while, they kept asking me what I was doing and saying I was glowing. It took me a month before it dawned on me that it was the R & F. I hadn’t changed anything else. DUH!!! Save yourself all that trouble and just go ahead and signup and get both regimens. You have a 60-day money back guarantee and that goes for consultants too. Email me if you have any questions. fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

  11. What a lovely punch of color! It looks great on you. And you’re right the scarf really pulls the outfit together.

  12. Your explanations for both companies was really helpful. I’m considering Plunder, but I am the world’s worst salesperson so I wouldn’t want to have to meet any goals.
Yes, I’ve been buying something I like in multiple colors, tights or pants in particular and especially when the price is so reasonable that I. Just. Can’t. Help. Myself. Lol.
I was reading one of your previous posts on your makeup routine and purchased a trial sized Still Huge mascara and am following a Makeup Geek eyeshadow palette, both on eBay. For me, I find better prices on eBay than Amazon plus I sell my no-longer-loved clothing and actives ear there which gives me a bank of fun money.
    Happy Friday!

    1. Lynn, believe me when I say that I am not a salesperson either. I find it easy to write on the blog because I love both of these companies and I am passionate about them. If you meet me in person, though, it is a different story. I am quieter and shyer by nature, so I have a hard time talking to people face to face. The blog gives me a voice that I wouldn’t be able to do on my own. Joe is a HUGE Ebay user and I used to buy a lot of Talbot sample sizes. Unfortunately, I have outgrown the sample size. Lol!

  13. Thank you Tania, you are great at splaining Lucy! Love your style and genuine heart. Hope to be in touch soon about the lash boost. ???

    1. Sounds great Vicki. I get so excited about the products I have to try to dial it back a notch or two. You gurls are going to think I am crazy. Lol!

  14. Teresa McMillan says:

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that top! Purple is my favorite color and, for some reason, I don’t own much purple. And the scarf really sets it off! Beautiful Outfit you have there!

  15. kAREN GIFFORD says:

What a way to start my day at work- First I read your daily blg and love-lov-love the shirt. Great outfit and then I keep reading and I won. What a way to start my Friday!!! Have a blessed day

    1. Yep! Friday the 13th wasn’t unlucky for you. Haha!

  16. Tania you look terrific in this! Totes adorbs outfit on you! I’m jealous as over the knee boots make this short gurl appear to be playing dress up. Not a good look. But I love ❤️ it on you!!

  17. Velvet Hobson says:

Thank you so much for this blog. It is a great way for me to start my morning and gives me some new ideas, Getting “old”
    doesn’t have to be boring!

  18. You are just the cutest thing ever!

  19. Patti hendrix says:

Love the color of the shirt and scarf! Looks awesome!!

  20. robjodiefilogomo says:

I never used to be a ruffle girl, but lately I’ve been so glad to try them out!! This top is definitely something I’d wear!
And don’t you think the OTK boots are the cat’s meow?

  21. Robin Staley says:

Do u use lash boost on top and bottom lashes?

    1. Thanks for asking, Robin, I didn’t address that. You apply a very SMALL amount of Lash Boost nightly, the same way you would an eyeliner. You only apply to the top lashes. As you sleep the serum will spread to the bottom lashes.

  22. Tania, great post, great outfit, great explanation. Is there a way to find a Plunder salesperson near me in N Illinois? Also, I’d suggest to anyone selling these items to contact their state garden club. We have conventions & meetings often with a vendors section. These ladies are always looking for something different.
Just so you know, your the fashion angel/devil on my shoulder as I shop…stay away from another black sweater…find a taupe bag, ..what’s the unique detail? Having fun!

    1. Debbie, I am not sure how you find stylists in a certain area other than by posting on FaceBook that you are looking. We have vendors also at our Woman’s Club Conventions, so I know what you mean. It took me a few minutes to catch what you meant about the fashion angel/devil. I thought you were telling me those things. I thought, “I don’t have on a black top, what is she talking about?” Did I mention that I am a natural blonde? Lol!

    2. Lol…sorry I wasn’t more clear, hadn’t had my second cup of coffee yet. And I’m a natural blonde too – 40 years ago?

  23. Wooza!!!! Love this color, the flirty ruffles, and the scarf pops!!! You look great!!!

  24. Love the color of the top and the scarf goes with it just perfectly! Going to have to check out those pants at Old Navy!

  25. Hi Tania,

I love the colour combinations and the way you explained R & F and Plunder was excellent, to the point and enlightening. I have collected some accessories, scarves, handbags at thrift stores today based on your examples, I am becoming a more discerning shopper and mix and match more confidently. I have been sharing your blog with my friends in Australia.Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. Cheers Tracey

  26. Thanks for letting me know about the lanyards! Definitely need to get one to replace the ugly orange cloth one we were given at work!

  27. Did I miss the Lash boost post? Can you tell me about it, your lashes look amazing!

  28. You look super in that colour Tania, it’s not one I’ve seen around, I shall be keeping a look out for it now. Yes I do buy double if it’s something I really love but I usually buy two identical items. I figure that if I like it so much, it will wear out quickly and I like to have a back up!
