CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY TO SEEING RESULTS
Do you take collagen supplements? I have recently started taking collagen supplements, and I can tell the difference in my hair and nails. There are a lot of supplement companies out there, so navigating them all is difficult. In the end, I ended up ordering my first jar of unflavored collagen peptides from Collagen For Her because they were a woman-owned business. I figured that they had a better insight into what a woman might need than a man.
This is a sponsored post by Collagen For Her, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.
When it comes to listening to my body, I am not the best. I know that vitamins are good for me, but I have a hard time seeing the results they give me. That is how I felt when I started using the Collagen Peptides the first go-around. I finished the jar but didn’t think that I had results and didn’t order any more.
It wasn’t long until I noticed that my nails were splitting and breaking, but I still didn’t put two and two together. Collagen For Her messaged me to see if I would be interested in trying another jar. I thought, “sure, why not?” I started the Collage Peptide Powder again, along with the Multi-Collagen Capsules, and my nails soon started growing again, and even though they would still break, it was rare. If you are new to collagen, the Unflavored Collagen Peptide Powder is a great place to start, and I love the fact that it is tasteless and can be added to my morning coffee. One scoop has 11g of collagen and 10g of protein. If you prefer a capsule instead of a powder, their multi-collagen capsules are a great option and contain five different types of collagen.
The light bulb finally went off! I have also noticed that my hair seems to be growing faster, along with my nails. My nails are actually to the point that I can paint them, which I haven’t been able to do in over a year. Unfortunately, most people are like me and aren’t consistent with any type of supplement. With anything, such as eating healthier or working out, we have to give it time to see results. I’ve found out that with Collagen, you should give the products 2-3 months of consistent use before you expect to see results.
Collagen For Her sent me a couple of their latest products to try. The Marine Collagen Beauty Blend and a Collagen Coffee Scrub. I was skeptical about trying both of these products, but for different reasons. I figured that the Marine Collagen would taste fishy, and I thought the Collagen Coffe Scrub would be an oily mess. Thankfully, I was WRONG on both accounts.
Marine Collagen Beauty Blend
The Marine Collagen Beauty Blend is a unique blend of hydrolyzed fish collagen, 100% daily Vitamin C, biotin, and hyaluronic acid. According to the website, one scoop contains 5g of hydrolyzed marine collagen peptides. Bonus: this blend is pescatarian friendly!
This is a tasteless product that blends easily in hot liquids like coffee or tea. I have been adding mine to my smoothies, and the blender takes care of any clumping that might have happened since I am using cold water and ice. I love getting my collagen in for the day in a delicious manner.
This beauty blend contains 100% of your daily value of Vitamin C, biotin, 100mg of hyaluronic acid! I know a little about skincare, and vitamin C and hyaluronic acid are two fantastic ingredients for your skin. It is also Paleo & Keto Friendly; Non-GMO, Sugar-Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, and Soy Free.
Collagen Coffee Scrub
I LOVED this product!!! Even though I use exfoliants on my face all of the time, I haven’t been using them on the rest of my body. I have tried some in the past, but they had so much oil in them that it left the shower a slippery death trap for the next person. There was no issue at all with this scrub. I love using it in the morning because that delicious coffee smell gets me perked up and ready for the day. Warning: It creates a big mess in the shower with all of the coffee grounds, but thankfully, they all flush down the drain easily.
This scrub is all-natural, cruelty-free, paraben-free, alcohol-free, and it left my legs and arms super soft. I would have put on some sunless tanner after I did the scrub, except I am all out of it. This will be perfect for exfoliating all of the dead skin off my body, and I see this becoming a weekly ritual for me.
I did a previous post about collagen and why you need it, so check it out if you would like some more information.

Okay.. just ordered 3 months of collagen pills! Seems like this is all the rage right now, but I have terrible hair and the pandemic has been my time to try to fix. Tried Nutrofol for 3 months but it gave me terrible gastric problems, so I stopped it. Hoping this will be a solution. Viviscal is my next stop.
I’ve read many times that coffee grounds shouldn’t be put down the drain.
Are your nails still splitting? I have been using this for several months now but, my nails are still spitting. They are looking good though besides that.
I started using the Collagen for Her capsules on your recommendation two or three months ago. I’m sold on it! It takes time to see the improvement, but it does happen. You’re right, consistency is key.
I have been using collagen powder for 2 months now. My nails are definitely healthier and my skin even seems a little better. Joint pain in my hands has also improved. I am sold on it.
I had the same concerns as Nancy regarding the safety of this product so I reached out to my doctor. She said the jury is still out because of concerns of the potential of them transmitting diseases such as spongiform encephalopathy, she advised against taking collagen supplements.
Thank you for the good information. I just ordered. Can’t wait to try it. Who doesn’t want better hair and nails:)
I have been using unflavored collagen powder in my coffee every morning for almost a year now. I started taking it in the hopes it might reduce my knee joint pain. I know our natural production of collagen decreases as we age, so I thought it was time to supplement. Unfortunately no help in the joint pain problem (losing weight hasn’t helped either so knee surgery is probably in my near future). I continue to use the product because collagen is also great for skin, nails and hair and my powder has a good amount of protein per serving which is also highly beneficial.
I’ve been using the collagen powder for a little over a month. I’m curious what you take on a daily basis. You mentioned powder, capsules and marine powder also. Do you take all three?
Diane, I used the powder to begin with, then I would take the capsules on days that I didn’t add the powder to my coffee. The marine powder is a new one that I’ve been taking, and I’ve been adding it to my smoothie at lunch instead of the powder in my coffee.
No outfit of the day?
Lol! Not today, Jamie. Just sharing what I’ve been using lately.
I have thought about trying some form of collagen but when I read about it I learned that collagen comes from animal and is not FDA regulated. Is that true?
Nancy, I honestly don’t know if that is true or not. I know that the FDA doesn’t regulate a lot of “dietary” supplements, and I couldn’t give you any advice on this. Here is the page of FAQ’s on the Collagen For Her page, and there is also a contact link at the bottom of the page. You can ask there since I am sure that they would know the answer. https://collagenforher.com/pages/faq-page
Ok, this is freaky! I was going to send you a message about Collegen for Her but you posted about it! You really are psychic! Do want to ask if you have noticed whether one form works better than the other? Pill form would definitely be easier for me.
