COCO CHANEL AND A CLASSIC LOOK

Hello from the bright and sunny town of Grundy, Virginia!!! I am thrilled that we have had a day or two of sun after all the rain that we had last week. My yard has been saturated and I have tried to stay out of it especially if I am wearing high heels. I made the mistake one day last week of trying to take some pictures in the grass and when I went to move my shoe stayed stuck in the ground. Lol! I almost fell trying to make the shoe come with my foot. It was quite comical and I so glad that Joe was not home to witness the whole thing. There are just some things that he doesn’t need to witness. Lol!!! For the next six months, I am going to be on call. I have been summoned to Federal Jury duty. I know that it is my civic duty BUT, the Federal courthouse is an hour and a half away from where I live. So, I will be looking at a 3-hour round trip at best. Also, if I get called for a case, then court starts at 8:00 am and can go until 6:00 pm. I would be looking at leaving my house around 6:00 in the morning and not getting home until at least 7:30 at night. The $50.00 per day that I will get paid sure doesn’t sound that appealing when I could be looking at a 13 1/2 hour day. That would turn into me making roughly $3.70 per hour PLUS, I am also out the gas money. And, if money was not the issue, and if driving 3 hours round trip was not the issue, then how about the part where I am still going to have to do the blog and they won’t let me take a phone into the courthouse. Lol! I don’t guess what you will be getting “what to wear on jury duty” photos. Lol!!! Oh, did I happen to mention that I am on call for SIX MONTHS!!! How am I supposed to put my life on hold for SIX MONTHS??? That is crazy! If I had to pick a “brand” that I knew I would fit my style, it would be Eliza J. I say that because I have never gotten anything from this brand that I didn’t like. I had never even heard of this brand until I got my first dress in one of my Trunk Club shipments and I have been hooked ever since. This dress is one of Joe’s favorites and he compliments me everytime that I wear it. ? Who doesn’t like to get compliments??? I loved this dress for several reasons and the first one was, quality. Eliza J is a very nice line and everything I have gotten has been lined and a thick material. I love the fit, their items have all ran true to size. And, I love the style on this dress. Stripes is a classic print but the cute tassels make this dress modern also. I would say the pricing of the dresses is in the medium range, at least for me. If you have been used to paying 400.00 for a dress, then you will think the prices are cheap. And, if you have been used to paying 24.95 for a dress, then you will think the prices are expensive. Lol! Everything is all relative.

Pearls, pearls, pearls. Can you sing that to the Motley Crue song, “Girls, Girls, Girls?” Lol!!! Try getting that song out of your head for the rest of the day. Hahaha. I am loving the new pearl jewelry from Plunder Design this fall. The vibe that I was going for was based on Coco Chanel and I actually have another pearl necklace to add to this look but I was running late for church so I just went with the Alicia and the Brindy. The Alicia has three different strands and a cameo that is attached to one of the strands and the Brindy is a single strand with a gorgeous rhinestone clasp. I also added the Nola pearl cluster stud earrings that really make a nice statement. They are showy without being too large and over-the-top. My goal was to be noticed but to also be more classic. I love lots of color, so I added this hot pink 3/4 sleeve cardigan to the dress to brighten it up. Plus, it is always cold in church so this served two purposes for me. Joe is the one whose body temperature runs hot but even he was scooting closer to me last Sunday trying to stay warm. Lol! I also added my new Kate Spade leopard print handbag to add some fun to the outfit. I don’t carry small handbags usually but I will out on dates or to places that I don’t want to have to keep up with my bigger bags.


I went on Facebook with no makeup Wednesday morning. ? Joe can’t understand why on earth that I would do that. I told him that he sees me all the time with no makeup on and that I go on the blog with none on, and that is seen is several different countries, so why would I care to go on Facebook? He didn’t have a good explanation for that! Lol! So, that got me curious……….how many of you wear makeup every day, or at least most days?
