WHEN WILL IT BE COAT WEARING WEATHER

The weather hasn’t dipped low enough for me to start wearing my heavier wool-blend coat just yet, but I can see the time fast approaching. It seems like fall is flying by this year, and the weather doesn’t seem to be playing around. The weather went from scorching hot to crisp and cool almost overnight. It has me now considering when will it be coat-wearing weather?

In the fall of the year, I usually wear a long sleeve sweater or top. This is a simple outfit formula that works great when the temperatures first start to dip. It is easy to put together, it is warm enough for an early fall day, and you can use the formula with jeans, pants, or skirts.

I went with a classic and timeless outfit today, but there is a modern element to this look. Classic pieces never go out of style, but they aren’t always on the trending forefront. This ivory ribbed turtleneck is classic, and the ribbed fabric is a huge trend right now that will have you looking modern and stylish.

I love the fit of this turtleneck, and the length is perfect. Sometimes, turtlenecks can fit too tight, and you see every little bump and lump. I ordered a medium and was so pleasantly surprised to see that the fit was slimming but not tight at all. I have a “thing” for nice wool coats. Joe might say that it is a problem, but I call it a love affair. Lol! There are some details that I look for when I am buying a coat, and it starts with the material. I want my coats to be thick and warm, but I also want them to be soft and not scratchy.

I prefer my coats to be cover my backside and to come at least to my thigh area.

Then, I look at the stitching, the buttons, and how the seams lay on the coat. This London Fog coat not only passed my criteria; it hit a homerun! I’m wearing the heathered taupe, but the coat comes in a couple of other colors. I didn’t even mention that the fringed scarf, which matches perfectly, comes with the coat!!!

I ordered a large because I want to wear heavier sweaters under it this coming winter. The fit is excellent, and it will work perfectly with my sweaters.
