Last week, I drove to a neighboring town to do a Chico’s try on haul for July. Chico’s is usually my highest-selling retailer, so I know that women over 50 love this brand. I decided to try on five of my favorite looks, and I know you’re going to love them.

For sizing reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, and weigh between 150-155. For Chico’s, I usually wear a size .5 or 1 in bottoms, and a size 1 in tops and dresses.

This is such a great outfit that can be worn dressed up or down. The skort really grabbed my eye because of the color combination. I also love the pleats and the border that goes along the hem. I’ve started looking for clothing that I can transition into fall so I can wear them for two seasons. This skort will be perfect because of the colors. I can see myself wearing this with a denim jacket and ankle boots.

As soon as I tried this dress on, I told the saleslady it was coming home with me. The blouson top and the flowy tiered skirt help to create curves for me by making my waist look smaller. The dress would look much better if it was steamed, but I think it looks great. This dress is also available in black if the blue isn’t great for your complexion.

This outfit is in the same Amparo Blue color. It is a gorgeous shade of blue, and I love the combination with yellow.

This topper has a peplum hem and flare sleeves which gives the cardigan a lot of visual interest.

I was surprised to see these crops were made from denim. They look much dressier than jeans, so they can be dressed up or down.

This linen blend top has very unusual sleeves. I chose to pair it with Brigitte ankle pants for a dressier look, but it would also look great with jeans. The pants have Hidden Fit technology that shapes your style for a figure-trimming fit. They are available in lots of colors, including the Amparo Blue color from the dress above.

The linen material is thicker than most tops, and isn’t see-through.

Here is a better look at the embroidered lantern sleeve.

Here is the last look. This is the most casual of all the looks because of the straight crops. The henley slub tee is soft, and I love the embroidered “look” print.

The straight crops have a tiny bit of fraying at the hem. I love the fit, and these jeans will look great with ankle boots this fall.

    Hi Tania!

Looking wonderful as always! My favorite outfit is the white pants, blue tank top and ruffled open blouse! Those colors look wonderful on you.

  2. Of all the items, I like the linen blouse the best! I don’t wear skirts or skorts, my body looks even wider in them. (long story). I honestly don’t like the blue dress on you, I think it makes you look bigger than you are! You have worn many other dresses here that flatter you better than this one. sorry! The white crops are nice too!

  3. I have a pair of the white crops and absolutely love them! the blue top and cardigan look great with them.

  4. The first outfit looks adorable on you! All the outfits looked great except the long skirt, it looked a bit matronly.

  5. the floral pleated skort, hands down the best item here, and it looks lovely with the green top.

  6. Hi, and happy 4th of July! All of these looked great on you – but I especially liked the blue maxi dress, it is such a great color and style and it looks very versatile. If I didn’t already have a maxi dress for the summer, I would try that one! I also like that last printed t-shirt and I might need to go get that for myself!

Love all the outfits. I have started shopping more frequently at Chicos. Their jeans are my favorite

  8. I love the ruffly cardigan! Thanks for pulling these together, Tania!

Do I really have to pick a favorite outfit 😳! I really like all of them on you. I can’t believe the printed skort is not just a skirt. For some reason, skorts and my body do not play well together. The cardigan with interesting details and the sleeveless tank are fabulous. As much as I like the maxi dress, that type of waistband would only make my thick tummy and backside look even thicker. The tee and jeans are spot on for me. I am going to see if the top is within my budget. If not, I’ll watch for it to end up on clearance or at Chico’s Outlet. Sounds like your now double digits granddaughter has a great day planned for the family. Happy Birthday to her!

  10. I like the first outfit with the skirt and the one with the Bridgette pants
