Don’t you hate it when a perfectly good day gets thrown for a loop in just a few minutes? I was skipping through life yesterday, all tra-la-la-la-la, and thinking that everything was all rainbows and unicorns. My attitude is almost always a glass half full kind of gurl, and sometimes it is even an overflowing glass. So, it is very rare for me to be in a hateful mood, but it does occasionally happen. And, when it does happen, it is not pretty and I usually end up regretting almost everything that I have done or said.

My great day was thrown by an email that I received late that night. At least most of my day was good. Lol! As soon as I started reading the email, I could feel my blood starting to boil. I would like to think that I took deep breaths and calmed myself down before shooting off a reply, but that isn’t what happened. There wasn’t anything that I could say in the email that was going to change the situation, so why did I still feel the need to vent? I called a couple of friends to let them commiserate with me, and I even called my sister this morning since I was still fuming. Thankfully, I have been able to finally shake it off and go back to being my happy-go-lucky self, but it might take a while to get my glass back full. Lol!

Casual is the name of the game for today. I love this very lightweight and thin tie-front tee in navy. All of you would live in warmer climates need to pay special attention to this top. It is so lightweight and thin that you will not be hot in this top. Also, the top is a linen blend fabric which is a must for summer months. I love this classic navy color, but it also comes in sand, which is the color of the top that I wore yesterday. See HERE. I like that the top comes already made to do an effortless front tie. This is a slimming look, but it can be hard to achieve if the top is not made to wear like that. The deep v-neck is also a slimming detail, so this top gets several “thumbs up” from me. I am wearing a medium and it is plenty roomy.

These silver geometric shaped hoop earrings are my “casual” earrings. Lol! I think that these earrings look more casual than a lot of my other earrings. So, you will find me wearing these with t-shirts and jeans a lot. My sister loved these also, so she bought a pair for her daughter. Funny thing, I’ve only seen my sister wearing these. Lol! My dainty Rue cuff bracelet is one that can be worn with casual clothing or with dressy outfits both. I like that it is adjustable so that those with small wrists can also wear this.

I have actually shocked myself at how often that I’ve worn these slip-on sneakers by Sperry. Sneakers are not normally something that I wear, but I love the “no-tie” rawhide lases and the nautical look that these sneakers have. I ordered these shoes but ended up sending them back because they were too big. I had to size down in these and order an 8 1/2, instead of my usual size 9. But, once I sized down, they fit me great. These have linen uppers, and a memory foam insole, so they are comfortable all day long.

I am sure that some of you are sick of seeing me wear these girlfriend crops from Chico’s. I love these pants, and I am always pulling them out to wear. I loved them so much, that I went in and ordered the other two colors that they are available in. The crops are on sale right now for $39.00, and you can’t find a better deal than that. The two darker colored crops don’t have the distressing, so for those of you who are not fans of distressing, you will be happy. I am wearing a size .5 in these jeans, and they fit me snug, but I love the way that they fit.

Today is Woman Crush Wednesday. I have decided to share a story with you every Wednesday about a woman that I admire, and this one is over half of my age. She has a “don’t take no for an answer” attitude, and it has propelled her to amazing heights. I think that we could all learn a lesson from Carly. Here is her story.
