Casual and Affordable Style Over 50 From Walmart
When I started 50isnotold, I wanted to inspire everyone to look their best, no matter their budget. I’ve shopped at yard sales and thrift stores in order to look the best I could. Some clothing retailers specialize in casual and affordable styles for women over 50, and today’s look is from Walmart, Kohl’s, and Old Navy.
Retailers that specialize in Casual and Affordable Style Over 50
I realize that it can be overwhelming when you go into a store or log on to their website. I’ve done a lot of shopping at these retailers, so I now know which brands work best for me. Today I’m highlighting one outfit created by three retailers that make it possible for women to look their best while on a budget. Walmart, Kohl’s, and Old Navy all offer a wide variety of casual and affordable styles for women over 50. However, I’ve found that a lot of the brands I like the best are only available online.
When To Splurge and When To Save
Let’s face it; when it comes to fashion, styles can change at the drop of a hat. Some styles are classics, and they can be worn for years without looking dated, especially if you add something trendy and modern to the look. However, other styles may keep you looking modern, but you might only wear them a year or two before they are out of style. The formula is simple…splurge on classics and save on trends.
Casual and Affordable Style Over 50 – Double Breasted Blazer
Double-breasted blazers for women can be considered both a trend and a classic item. Double-breasted blazers have been a staple in women’s fashion for decades and have been seen as a classic item. However, the popularity of double-breasted blazers can vary over time, but they generally remain a staple in women’s fashion.
I like that a double breasted blazer can be dressed up or down. For today’s casual and affordable style for women over 50, I chose a gorgeous blue tweed plaid blazer from Walmart.
This is a lined, lightweight blazer that is perfect for spring and summer. It looks and feels great, but the buttons are the only thing that looks and feel cheap. You could easily switch them out if that is something that bothers you or simply tell people not to be touching your buttons. Lol! I prefer my double breasted blazers not to overlap, so my top underneath shows. I’m wearing a medium, but if you want the blazer to button, then size up.
Casual and Affordable Style Over 50 – Wide Leg and Flare Jeans
Currently, wide-leg pants and flare jeans are extremely popular and are a huge trend in the fashion world. However, a lot of women consider wide-leg pants and flare jeans to be a classic items, and they are always in their wardrobe. I love the trouser style flare jeans from Old Navy! They look and fit great, and you can easily dress these up or down. The jeans have some stretch to them, and they run big. I tried on my usual size 8 in a recent Old Navy Try On Session, but they were too large on me. I ordered a size 6, and they fit me perfectly.

I follow you on email and instagram every day. Personally I’m not a fan of daily finds. It’s too much clutter. I prefer to see outfits you have personally tried with comments about style, fit, design and so forth.
