Timeless Cable Knit Sweaters for Women That Never Go Out of Style
One of my favorite things about cooler weather, besides a nice, crackling fire, is the sweaters I get to wear! Today, I’m sharing about cable knit sweaters. (Somewhere in my memory banks is a photo of my dad wearing a white one. He’s more of a flannel guy these days, but maybe I’ll sneak one into his stocking this year, lol. ) Cable knit sweaters warm you up, flatter your shape, and can easily be dressed up or down depending on what the day holds.
Plus, here’s an interesting tidbit: “Cable knit sweaters have their roots in Ireland, specifically in the Aran Islands, where fishermen’s wives hand-knitted them in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The ‘cable’ stitch itself symbolized ropes and was thought to bring good luck and safety at sea.” So maybe they’re lucky, too!
