50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40I thought that surviving Thanksgiving was tough but, whew, Black Friday was much harder. No, I didn’t get up at the crack of dawn and fight the crowds. No, I didn’t scour the internet for the perfect deal at the best price possible. I did the hardest part of all…I entered my credit card number over and over and over again. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40Joe kept getting confirmation emails yesterday until he finally asked me what in the world was I buying. I just laughed and said that it was Christmas gifts. He never knows what I buy or who I buy it for. He is just as surprised as everyone when all of the presents are opened at Christmas. Lol! When I go to the malls, which is hardly ever, I see men all around holding the purchases for the day. There is NO WAY that Joe would go shopping with me and I don’t WANT him to go. First off, I like to go to every store and take my time looking around. He would give me 30 minutes to go through the entire mall. Haha! Secondly, he would want to have input on the gifts that I was purchasing, and I would not care for that either. It is just best that I go by myself or take a girlfriend instead. So, what about you gurls? Do you take your man or leave him at home???50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40 I am not a huge fan of flannel or even this type plaid. But, I love this look today! It is so simple, but it looks so put together. As a bonus, this outfit it is very slimming. I may wear this same look over and over again in December. After all the food that I ate yesterday, I need all of the help that I can get. This Buffalo Plaid button-up shirt was one that I bought when I went to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. I tied the shirt at the waist to give it a more feminine look. That is a matter of preference so you can wear it as you want. Buffalo Plaid is huge this year, and it can be found in lots of different items.

50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40I added a couple of bling bracelets to help with making the outfit more girlie looking. I added the red Candy bling bracelet and the Essie black bling bracelet. The Candy was a special order and is no longer available. I added the Tawny cross bracelet also. I love this bracelet, and since it is on an elastic cord, it is easy to put on and take off. All of my bracelets on the right are from Alex and Ani, and I like stacking them. To me, the more, the merrier. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40 The black and white striped Britt earrings make a statement. I wasn’t sure that I would like these earrings because they are very bold and pretty dang large. However, I find myself reaching for them time and time again. I love the boldness of the earrings, and I love the small line of red beads and black feathers in the design.50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40 What I have styled this shirt is a more feminine styling, but I liked the edginess of these booties for this look. They have a large block heel and two silver buckles on the side. This is a pair of boots by Marc Fisher that I got from QVC last year. I can’t find these on the website any longer, but I did find a few others that I thought would work for this look.

50 IS NOT OLD | BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE | FASHION OVER 40The other morning, Joe came walking into the kitchen and asked me what those little blue capsules that I used every day were. I told him that they were the Intensive Renewing Serum capsules and then I asked him, “why do you want to know?” He said that he had used one that morning ? and wanted to know what they would do for him. I laughed and told him the truth…”I have no idea.” As I explained to him, I use so many of the Rodan + Fields products that I can’t tell you exactly what one product does versus the other. I did tell him what the doctors have been reported as saying though. I heard that they said that if you could only use one product for anti-aging that it should be the Intensive Renewing Serum. That was enough for him and he has been using one little blue pill every day since. Lol! I was thrilled when Rodan + Fields came out with the Super Serum Holiday Set which included the Intensive Renewing Serum AND the Active Hydration Serum at a 15% discount. The reason that I was thrilled with this set is that BOTH of these products can be used with all kinds of skin types. It doesn’t matter if you are acne prone or if you have sensitive skin, both of these products can be used. These Holiday sets are at a great price, but that has never stopped me from giving an even BIGGER discount. Place a Preferred Customer order for the SUPER SERUM SET, and I will reimburse you 27.00. Place a Preferred Customer order for the ULTIMATE RENEWAL SET, and I will reimburse you 19.00. If you are a NEW Preferred Customer, then I will also reimburse you the one-time enrollment fee of 19.95.

  1. He definitely stays home when I venture out to shop, but most of my shopping is done online. He has no idea what I buy, nor does he care (for the most part).

  2. Love this look!!!❤️ Where are your pants from?

    1. I am pretty sure that those were a pair by NYDJ from Nordstrom.

  3. My husband likes to shop and loves clothes, so I am lucky. He doesn’t mind me doing a lot of the Christmas shopping but I MAKE him pick out his mom’s gifts. No way am I being responsible for her complaints!

I love your outfit today♡ You could make a potato sack look stylish. I really enjoyed the video of you and your daughter, she is quite an adventurous girl!. My husband LOVES to shop, be it for groceries or anything else. He has bought me many outfits, shoes and even jeans. The strange thing is everything seems to fit well and I love it, just a few raised eyebrows over the years

No, I would not want to take my husband clothes shopping! But I might like to have him go Christmas shopping w me! I have that same shirt and I cant wait to tie the waste and see how it looks!

    1. Yay! Charlcy you will have to let me know if you like the shirt tied at the waist.

Hi, I prefer not to take my Husband shopping with me unless going for my Son at Christmas time. For all the reasons you mentioned in this post. It is more of a hassle with him. I prefer going myself or with a girlfriend. It’s more fun. He would say, “what are you buying that for?” Naysayer for everything. I think it is on purpose. LOL! So, I would go home with nothing accomplished. Not worth it. On another note, where did you purchase the leggings worn in this post?

    1. Naysayer! LOL!!! These are a pair of black jeggings that I got from NYDJ jeans.

  7. Leave him home!!! My husband’s idea of shopping is when he absolutely needs something, he goes to the nearest store and buys the first thing he sees no matter the price! And NEVER WalMart!!! I would never take him Black Friday shopping (of course, he wouldn’t go even if i wanted him to!!).

    1. I agree with you, Gayle. Never on Black Friday!

  8. I love to shop and like you my Mr Mc stays at home and never knows what I buy for gifts but pays the bills. He even has Fiona (our daughter) do his shopping of presents for my gifts and she lives in London. Some men have Christmas easy lol ? but I wouldn’t swap him ?

    1. Jill, I think that most men have it easy at Christmas. Unless you think that being the one who has to pay the bills is hard. LOL! I do the buying and Joe gets to do the paying. We both have our jobs. Hahaha!

  9. Love this look and have all the pieces. Shopping with my husband is like fishing with the game warden. I had must rather be alone or a girlfriend.
