BUFFALO PLAID CAN BE FEMININE
I thought that surviving Thanksgiving was tough but, whew, Black Friday was much harder. No, I didn’t get up at the crack of dawn and fight the crowds. No, I didn’t scour the internet for the perfect deal at the best price possible. I did the hardest part of all…I entered my credit card number over and over and over again. Lol!
Joe kept getting confirmation emails yesterday until he finally asked me what in the world was I buying. I just laughed and said that it was Christmas gifts. He never knows what I buy or who I buy it for. He is just as surprised as everyone when all of the presents are opened at Christmas. Lol! When I go to the malls, which is hardly ever, I see men all around holding the purchases for the day. There is NO WAY that Joe would go shopping with me and I don’t WANT him to go. First off, I like to go to every store and take my time looking around. He would give me 30 minutes to go through the entire mall. Haha! Secondly, he would want to have input on the gifts that I was purchasing, and I would not care for that either. It is just best that I go by myself or take a girlfriend instead. So, what about you gurls? Do you take your man or leave him at home???
I am not a huge fan of flannel or even this type plaid. But, I love this look today! It is so simple, but it looks so put together. As a bonus, this outfit it is very slimming. I may wear this same look over and over again in December. After all the food that I ate yesterday, I need all of the help that I can get. This Buffalo Plaid button-up shirt was one that I bought when I went to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. I tied the shirt at the waist to give it a more feminine look. That is a matter of preference so you can wear it as you want. Buffalo Plaid is huge this year, and it can be found in lots of different items.
I added a couple of bling bracelets to help with making the outfit more girlie looking. I added the red Candy bling bracelet and the Essie black bling bracelet. The Candy was a special order and is no longer available. I added the Tawny cross bracelet also. I love this bracelet, and since it is on an elastic cord, it is easy to put on and take off. All of my bracelets on the right are from Alex and Ani, and I like stacking them. To me, the more, the merrier. Lol!
The black and white striped Britt earrings make a statement. I wasn’t sure that I would like these earrings because they are very bold and pretty dang large. However, I find myself reaching for them time and time again. I love the boldness of the earrings, and I love the small line of red beads and black feathers in the design.
What I have styled this shirt is a more feminine styling, but I liked the edginess of these booties for this look. They have a large block heel and two silver buckles on the side. This is a pair of boots by Marc Fisher that I got from QVC last year. I can’t find these on the website any longer, but I did find a few others that I thought would work for this look.
The other morning, Joe came walking into the kitchen and asked me what those little blue capsules that I used every day were. I told him that they were the Intensive Renewing Serum capsules and then I asked him, “why do you want to know?” He said that he had used one that morning ? and wanted to know what they would do for him. I laughed and told him the truth…”I have no idea.” As I explained to him, I use so many of the Rodan + Fields products that I can’t tell you exactly what one product does versus the other. I did tell him what the doctors have been reported as saying though. I heard that they said that if you could only use one product for anti-aging that it should be the Intensive Renewing Serum. That was enough for him and he has been using one little blue pill every day since. Lol! I was thrilled when Rodan + Fields came out with the Super Serum Holiday Set which included the Intensive Renewing Serum AND the Active Hydration Serum at a 15% discount. The reason that I was thrilled with this set is that BOTH of these products can be used with all kinds of skin types. It doesn’t matter if you are acne prone or if you have sensitive skin, both of these products can be used.
These Holiday sets are at a great price, but that has never stopped me from giving an even BIGGER discount. Place a Preferred Customer order for the SUPER SERUM SET, and I will reimburse you 27.00. Place a Preferred Customer order for the ULTIMATE RENEWAL SET, and I will reimburse you 19.00. If you are a NEW Preferred Customer, then I will also reimburse you the one-time enrollment fee of 19.95.

Love your buffalo check shirt! I just made a couple of cream and black buffalo check infinity scarves for gifts. They really turned out pretty. When my husband goes shopping with me he usually waits in the car listening to the radio or talking on the phone or he parks his tush on a bench in the store. Heaven forbid he walk around with me with his “you don’t really need that, you already have one of those, what are you going to do with that” comments!
The scarves sound very nice and I am sure they will be loved by everyone.
My husband goes Christmas Shopping with me once a year during the holiday season. We have a nice dinner and then shop for about 2 hours. I make sure I scope out my purchases on line before going to the stores and that makes it easier on the old boy! I enjoy his company and I get him to play Dagwood for the evening…..but once a year is my limit!
That almost sounds like fun. Lol! I have taken Joe before but I let it be all about him. We go where he wants to go, we look for the gifts he wants to look at, and we leave when he is ready. Then, I go back at a later date or just shop online for what I want to get.
I enjoy shopping with my Mom or girlfriends, but that is usually more about the company than actual shopping. For serious shopping, I go alone, that way I can spend as much time as I want to look at and try on clothes.Sometimes I will take my husband but only if we are shopping for him and usually not even then!
I don’t even take Joe when I am shopping for him. Lol!
I’ve seen the buffalo plaid everywhere it seems and didn’t think it was for me but you make it look good. I may have to try it after all. I like shopping alone. I get more done and no one questions my choices. My husband doesn’t shop unless it’s a sporting goods store then I’m the one saying “lets go. Are we done yet?” Lol!
That sounds exactly like me, Johnna. His idea of a good time is to ride to the airport. Ugh!
I love plaid and this one has been a favourite for years! I am lucky that my husband likes shopping, although there are some time limits. We often go together but if it is true browsing and trying on clothes for any length of time I like to go on my own. I like your earrings!
I am just as happy to leave Joe at the house. He is happier and so am I. Lol!
You even make buffalo plaid look beautiful! You’re always polished and well- put together. Thanks for the fashion tips.
That is so nice of you to say! Being “put together” is what I strive for when I get dressed.
Are you kidding?? Take my husband anywhere near a store, especially at Christmas to buy more than one item. He only knows to go to Tractor Supply. Or our local hardware store. If you can’t buy it there you don’t need it. He calls smart phones magic phones. He does own a flip phone!! Do you get the picture? Lol. Oh I love buffalo plaid.
LOL!!! Cheryl, I feel your pain! If you ever get him to use a “magic” phone, he will never go back!!!
Another fabulous look. I too prefer to leave him home. One, I really don’t need him eyeing my every purchase and two, balking at the price. Not to mention the eye rolling or sighs. He reminds me of the commercial where the older lady is trying glasses and her hubs keeps saying “are we done yet”.
EXACTLY!!!!
You look adorable. I love the way plaid looks on everyone but me. I look like a lumberjack! And NO! I adore my husband of 34 years but it would be the 30 minutes in a mall all over again. I prefer to go alone if I want to get things accomplished. I can’t even take a friend or I won’t actually shop.
I wasn’t kidding about the time thing. We went to a Walmart once, and he told me to meet him back at the checkout in 15 minutes. You can’t even walk to the back of the store and back in 15 minutes!
I HATE to shop. Love to look AFTER I’ve done my shopping online. I hurt my back years ago & it just gets worse so I can only handle an hour or so of shopping. I am SO thankful for online shopping. Never tho’t I’d say that!
Saw your video with Ashley. She may not be like you but I see a lot of you in her. Actions & expressions. She’s a hoot!
Jeannie, I am thankful for online shopping also. When you live in a very tiny area, you are really thankful that the internet has opened up so many possibilities.
