BUFFALO CHECK FOR SUMMER FUN
Kids say the darndest thing was an old Art Linkletter saying. Today I was reminded of that BIG TIME! Let me back up though and tell you that Friday was a hectic day. I went to work even though I don’t work on Friday’s anymore because I needed to do payroll. Payroll was scheduled for Monday and since I am leaving town I needed to find a way to get everyone a paycheck on Friday. The new system is not as easy to maneuver as the old one I had so it took a phone call to Texas for us to figure out a way to get that done. Then, I needed to do a ton of other things and my son reminded me that I needed to pick up Emersyn from school.
I picked her up and as we were walking out the door the teacher’s aide said, “did you know that Emersyn got married today?” Emersyn grinned at me like a possum and proudly showed me her new ring. Married and in preschool, talk about a child bride!!! Anyway, she told me the lucky young gents name and then I mentioned to her that she wasn’t going to be Emersyn Stephens anymore. She wanted to know why so I told her that when women get married that they normally take the last name of their husband. I said, “your mom was Kayla Yates and now she is Kayla Stephens.” She knew that the phone said Kayla Yates so that made sense to her then. Later on, as we were talking, I said something to her and called her Emersyn Stephens. She immediately corrected me and said, “my name is Emersyn Stacy.” ?♀️ Lol!!!
When I walked into work wearing this the other day one of the girls asked me if I was going on a picnic. I was ready for the comment and I told her that Boo Boo Bear and I were going on a pic-a-nic with my basket. I started to take my pictures with a basket just to get my point across. Lol! I told you that I was in love with gingham and this is just a gingham check on steroids. Lol! This top is a new purchase and it is by Joan Rovers. This is a small and I normally wear a large so take that into account if you decide to order something from that line. The top also comes in a couple of different colors, just click on the highlighted wording to be directed to the website. The top is 100% cotton so it is machine washable and hang to dry.
Since I was going on a picnic (in the theory) I didn’t put on much jewelry. I only have on my Diana metal earrings from Plunder. I keep meaning to take these and have my initials put on them, wouldn’t that be cute, but I keep forgetting. The only other jewelry I have on is my Alex and Ani bracelets.
I don’t wear sneakers a lot but there are times when it just calls for a sneaker and this is one of those times. This is a Chuck Taylor (I got it right this time) knockoff pair. I bought these at a little boutique in Acworth Georgia called Glitzy Chicks. They monogrammed my initials onto the tongue of the shoe. I added my own unique detail. Lol!!!
