Where was dry shampoo when I was a teenager?! I’ll be honest—washing my hair every day can be a chore, especially when I’ve got errands, grandkids, and two blog posts to write each day! That’s where dry shampoo comes to the rescue. Today we’re talking about The Best Dry Shampoos for Women Over 50—formulas that soak up oil, add volume, and help you stretch that blowout an extra day or two.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

This one’s a go-to classic and for good reason! It actually cleans your hair—not just masks the oil. It leaves no residue and has a nice fresh scent. Great for all hair types, including color-treated. I love how it gives my roots a little lift without making my scalp feel gunky. Joe always says my hair smells fancy after I use this one—ha!

Kérastase Fresh Affair Dry Shampoo

If you want your hair to feel like it just came out of the salon, this is the one. It smells divine (thanks to neroli oil) and instantly absorbs oil while adding volume. It’s silicone-free, gentle on your scalp, and perfect for in-between wash days. A little spritz goes a long way—this one’s luxury in a bottle!

Hair Dance Volume Powder – Non-Aerosol

Gurls, this powder is lightweight, lavender-scented, and ideal for those of us who prefer natural, non-aerosol options. It’s talc- and corn-free and works great for both blonde and dark hair. Just sprinkle a little on your roots, give it a fluff, and bam—fresh hair. Plus, it’s small enough to toss in your purse!

Handmade Heroes Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair

If you’ve got brunette hair and hate the white cast from some dry shampoos, this one’s for you. It blends easily, smells great, and gives hair a little volume boost too. It’s vegan, 100% natural, and great for travel or your gym bag. Note to self: This would be a good stocking stuffer for Ashleigh.

Pureology Refresh & Go Dry Shampoo

Color-treated hair, this one’s your new BFF. It not only soaks up oil, but also protects from heat if you want to touch up with a blow dryer. It’s silicone-free, vegan, and gives great volume without drying out your ends. It’s great for days when you want to refresh and style in a hurry.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo Powder

This powder goes beyond oil control—it also helps soothe a dry or itchy scalp. With tea tree oil and charcoal, it detoxes while freshening up your roots. I love this one for those winter months when my scalp acts up. Just tap a little into your part, massage in, and enjoy the cooling effect!

Acure Dry Shampoo – Rosemary & Peppermint

Need an organic option? This is for you. Plus, it’s vegan, and smells like a spa day in a bottle. The rosemary and peppermint give a tingly fresh feeling, and it works on all hair types. It’s easy to apply, lasts a long time, and gives your hair a clean finish without the gunk. You might smell like a Thin Mint, but hey, that’s the price of beauty!

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – Powder

Kiorane is gentle and soothing, especially if you have a sensitive scalp. The oat milk makes it extra calming, and it’s great for fine or thinning hair. It’s a loose powder, not a spray, so there’s no aerosol involved. I keep this one in my bathroom for when I want something light and natural.

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Unscented Dry Shampoo (2-Pack)

If you want zero scent, this is your match! It absorbs oil fast and is fragrance-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free. I’d use this before a workout or a long day when I know I’ll want a refresh. It’s a budget-friendly pick that works surprisingly well—plus you get two!

That’s my list of The Best Dry Shampoos for Women Over 50! Whether you’re stretching wash day, adding volume, or just want your hair to feel clean and fresh, these picks cover every hair type and budget. Dry shampoo is seriously one of my secret weapons—because sometimes, you just don’t have time to shampoo and style. Let me know which one you love best, and here’s to fabulous hair… even on day three! Ha!
