BEHIND THE SCENES VOL. 4 – WHAT YOU’VE MISSED

It has been a fairly blah week here at the Stephen’s household. Other than a few doctor’s appointments and lunch dates, I haven’t left the house. However, I do have a few fun details to share with you, a few giveaways, and some exciting news from one of my friends. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s post.

Joe and I went to eat at a cute little eatery specializing in healthy foods and juices. I had eaten there before, but it was Joe’s first time. I had a slice of tomato pie which was delicious, but since Joe had eaten earlier, he just had a bottle of the Majik Moment Juice. It contained Blue Algae, so I had to take a photo to send to my daughter, who has a degree in Marine Biology. She was as shocked as I was that he tried the juice and loved it. When I went to pay for the meal, Joe said, “grab some more of those drinks.” The lady told him that they were cheaper if he bought 6, so he picked out 6 different ones, and we left.

Later, he got to looking at the bill and about died when he saw that each little bottle was $7. I laughed and told him that he only paid $39.50 since he bought 6 of them. The moral of the story; pay attention to the price before you buy. Lol!

I saw a video of someone cutting their hydrangeas, putting them in a bowl/pot without water, and letting them dry. The color is supposed to stay the same, so I decided to give it a try. Here is my bouquet of hydrangeas, so I’m crossing my fingers that they stay this pretty. If you’ve ever tried this method, let me know how it turned out for you. I thought you had to hang them upside down (🤷) to let them dry, and I don’t have the patience for that.

Jo-Lynne

The only exciting thing that happened this week was that my friend Jo-Lynne Shane launched a jewelry collection with Victoria Emerson. I’m so happy and thrilled for her, and the items I received are gorgeous. Here is a short video showing the items I received, and here is where you can see the rest of the collection. 8. Please give us an update on the hydrangeas! I’ve tried the upside-down process a few times with no success. We’ll finally be moving into our new home in Tennessee after a 15 month wait. I’ve already planned where my hydrangeas will be planted!

  9. Hi Tania, I really enjoy your daily blog. It’s fun to hear about your family and vacations. I’m so glad to see the fall fashions. Cara

  10. Tania, Thank you for the post I look forward to reading them! Love the outfits you chose and model for us, you have excellent style!! I just ordered the low rise bootcut jeans looking forward to receiving them. We are the same size so I don’t have to worry about the fit. I would never order online before but now thanks to you I can!!

  11. Thanks for the tip about the hydrangeas. I’ve often wondered if that would work, but have never taken the time to research it. The story about Joe and his bottles of juice sounds just like something my husband would do.

  12. Oh my your friend Jo-Lynne’s jewelry is so today! Mixed metals are perfect , not like yester years making sure we only wore one type of metal. Thanks for letting us know about her line. Especially with Christmas coming .

  14. Love Joe’s story.
I too have made an impulsive purchase with our looking at the full price.
Looking foot you styling some of the pies you have purchased.

  15. I don’t always like the way you style an outfit – wrong colors, wrong style, don’t need that type of outfit – but I always like your explanations and other comments. Your scripture verses are a very special part of your post. Thank you

  16. Great post. I’ll be interested to see how your hydrangeas do. I would like to try that.
I grabbed one of your sneak peaks. Thanks for the previews.

  17. I dry my hydrangea in a vase without water and they turn out beautifully! Mine are plain white though. Good luck with yours.

  18. Good Morning-

I like so many others read your blog first every morning. Thank you for inspiring me.
    Have a blessed day Tania!

  19. Love the sweaters! Please, post how the hydrangeas turned out, with pictures, of course, whether the way you hoped or not! Love hydrangeas!

  20. I’m a stay at home person most of the time, but I occasionally go into the city! Thanks for keeping me up to date on fashion!!

  21. Hi Tanya,
To dry your hydrangeas, just cut them and place them in a vase. There is no need to turn them upside down. The color will be a little darker / more muted than when they are still attached to the mother bush. I have an arrangement that I did a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving last year. The flowers look just as nice as they did nearly a year ago. Just try not to touch the flowers after you arrange them in your vase. Petals will fall if you touch the dried blossoms!

  22. It amazes me when I think about how much people spend for bottled water these days. Years ago, people would have looked at you funny if you would have paid for water when you could just get it right out of the kitchen faucet!! Times change! I’d love a pair of the Kate Spade studs. I’m seeing a lot of stud earring again, so I’m guessing they are coming back in fashion. Keep up the good work Tania! You’re a must read for me every day!

  23. I love the variety in your posts from fashion to makeup. its like “talking” to a friend sharing details, but not TMI!!

  24. Your blog today was different. I enjoyed it. Looking at the skin care products was interesting. These items are a little above my price range, but I enjoyed looking at the different products.

  25. I love your blog and always enjoy a good “Joe” story, lol!
I seem to want ALL the Fall items you are showing!
    Thanks!

  26. I do so enjoy your emails. Love the fashion tips, but I also like the stories about Joe. He sounds a lot like my hubby!

  27. I look forward to your email every morning! Sometimes I just review the email. Sometimes I read the blog and when I do I usually forward to my daughter.

  28. Love all the new fashion arrivals. Besides a pair of “exercise pants” I have never ordered any clothes from Amazon. So afraid of sizing! The reviews often contradict each other. Can’t wait to read your take.

  29. Hello, I really love your blog. Always good ideas. Thank you. I was wondering if you had any ideas for a Hawaiian cruise.

  30. I have followed Jo-Lynne Shane for several years. I ordered two of her bracelets and I know I will enjoy wearing them, and they are currently BOGO free!

  31. I look forward to your post every morning, I learn something everyday. The hydrangeas are beautiful, I didn’t know you could dry them like that, I will be raiding my daughters flower garden…LOL
