BEHIND THE SCENES VOL. 3 – HOME AGAIN HOME AGAIN
I feel a little bit like Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz…”There’s no place like home!!!” We’ve been trying to adjust from our recent trip to Palm Springs, and it has been a challenge. We went from 114-degree weather to barely 60-degree weather, and the three-hour time change kicked us in the rear.
Joe swears he isn’t going to turn back the clock once the time changes in November. So, last night he said, “I think I’m going to be; it’s already after 10 o’clock.” I said, “it’s only a little after 9; you’re going to bed too early. He looked at his watch, and I could see he was getting ready to correct me, so I said, “well, that’s what time it will be in November.” Haha! I think he might have called me a few names, but I found it hilarious.

Fall is in the air
Are you ready for fall? Do you decorate for fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving? When the kids were small, I decorated for Halloween with spiders, skeletons, spell books, and potion bottles. Ashleigh and Joseph are both born in October, so we had Halloween-themed birthday parties. Now, two of my grandchildren are October babies, so they have a big Halloween/Birthday celebration which is always a lot of fun.
This week, my DIL and I went shopping for some fall decorations at Target, Home Goods, and TJMaxx. This type of decor isn’t something that I sink a lot of money in, especially since I like to change it out every few years. Here is a tip when shopping at stores like Big Lots, Walmart, Target, TJMaxx, etc.; pick up the item and try to hold it against a plain background. Choose a wall or a solid color dress and look at the item. You’ll get a better idea of how the item will look in your home. If the item looks cheap, put it back, but if it looks nice against the solid background, it’ll look nice in your home.
Fall decorations can stay up until the Christmas tree comes out, so I like that I only have to decorate once. Kayla has small children, so she bought a few things for Halloween decor:
Since I don’t have small children in the house, I bought fall decor:
Hair Color
A lot of you have messaged me about my hair color. I’ve shared the formula on FB and IG, but I’ve never posted it here. So, today, I’m changing that.
Roots and {foiled in}lowlites- Redken Color Fusion 6na mixed with equal parts 15 volume (mix 10 and 20 together)
Highlights {foiled in} – Joico Blonde Life lightening powder mixed with equal parts 20 volume
Toner- Redken Shades EQ 10p mixed with equal parts developer
This is gibberish to me, but I’m sure your hairdresser would understand all of this.

I recently saw your Facebook post and really enjoyed reading 50isnotold.com
Actually I just turned 65 but a young 65.
I’ve decided age cannot define who we are.
I look forward to reading your posts daily.
Lovely styling! Thanks for the tips!
I love your posts and that you’re a person who loves to share your faith! If we lived closer, we’d be shopping/talking/church buddies! Thank you for all you do and share ❤️
No littles here, so I skip Halloween and decorate for Fall. I have a primitive/colonial style home so use simple decor, leaves, pinecone, burlap etc. I’m ready for our very hot, very dry Ohio summer to end!!
Tania,
I so love the fact that you show yourself as a very “real” Woman of God! You are such an inspiration! Thank you!
Keep Smiling, ’cause Jesus loves YOU, and so do I!! 🙂

I love to decorate for fall! I’ve been ordering a few things to add to what I have. I love the glass pumpkin!
I love Palm Springs! Glad you enjoyed. You have great taste in decorations and wardrobe. Home Goods is my favorite.
