Okay, I was wrong and I will be the first to admit it. I was not excited about the eclipse in the least. I was excited to attend the 100th birthday for Grandpa, I was excited to see my son and daughter, and I was excited to see all the grandbabies but the eclipse was something that I really wasn’t looking forward to. We started preparing for the party on Sunday by making over 20 t-shirts for everyone. The kids had a blast creating their own Galaxy in any way they wanted. Huttson is really into wrestling and watching John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin. When we looked at his shirt we noticed that his Galaxy had the word John at the bottom. Lol!
Matti is showing us how she was painting her shirt. We pinned a circle over the spot we wanted to keep black. That kept that area clean even after we spray painted the bright yellow of the corona.
Ashleigh was in charge of applying the cosmic makeup. Mine was the shadow of the moon with some stars (gems) shining. One of the men said it looked like I had been hit with a baseball bat. They just had no creativity in their blood.
Ashleigh was being sweet and put her hand so that you couldn’t see my double chin. Lol!
Look how cute the kids looked. This is my brother’s daughter, Allison.
This is my sister’s daughter, Rachel.
And this is my granddaughter, Matti B. Matti is the sweetest child you will ever meet. She is so sensitive and gets very emotional over everything. During the eclipse, we looked over and poor Matti is crying. We asked her what was wrong and she said that it was so beautiful that she didn’t want it to end.
I can’t believe that we actually got the men to wear the eclipse shirts. Haha! With all the glitter that we added to make the “Corona”, they ended up looking more like sunflowers. JD set up all of his fancy camera equipment and had it set to take time-lapse photos. He got several amazing shots and here is one straight from the camera.
I have watched the eclipse on television but this was so special that I was truly amazed. This is like when I went to Alaska, it is something that you really need to experience. I now understand why people were driving for hours to just witness this event. The “Once In A Lifetime” event might be over but the “Once In A Lifetime” offer is still going. If you need a change, if you want extra money, if you need social interaction, or if you just need a challenge, then we need to sign you up as a R+F consultant. What a great family get together time. Celebrating two monumental events, and just sharing laughter and fun. These are events your grandchildren will have as memories.
Yall’s enthusiasm for life is contagious and I think I want to be part of your family!! ? I love the eclipse shirts and the makeup. What a time to remember! The kids will never forget the day and all y’all did.
Looks like you and your family had a great time celebrating the 100th birthday, seeing all the family, and witnessing the eclipse. Great for all of you!
I hosted an eclipse party for 7 kids ages 10 to 3. What a great time we had. We used the old fashion way of looking at the eclipse, thru a cereal box or a shadow on our deck thru a colander!! The kids made shirts the day before but with the hot humid weather, most of their time was spent in the pool. What a great learning experience that was fun for all ages. And, you look great!
My daughter is going to love this post and there will definitely be some sort of party at the next solar or lunar or whatever else eclipse comes along. What a fun day you had. Your top looks out of this world!

We had a box to look through also. It was pretty cool. We even laid down a white sheet and got to see the “shadow snakes” which was truly amazing.

Ashleigh has already started looking at the 2024 eclipse to see where we might all go to watch it again.
