Last night as we went to bed, I looked at the weather forecast one last time. I love snow, so I was pretty pumped to see that we were still supposed to get between 4″-5″ inches with another 1″-2″ the next day. I’m just like a kid when it comes to snow, so I jumped out of bed and ran to the window to see how much snow had already accumulated.

The back patio was covered enough that I couldn’t see any bricks, but there wasn’t any accumulation. I was a little disappointed, but I figured that the snow was just taking its time and would be here as the day went on. As a kid, there was nothing worse than a huge snowfall prediction that didn’t materialize. I would have visions of school closings, snowmen, riding a sled down the hill, and lots of hot chocolate. I always felt let down and cheated when the snow didn’t come. It looks like I’ve not changed that much since I was young, I still feel cheated, but at least I can have hot chocolate anytime that I want. Lol!

When I did a survey a couple of weeks ago, affordable fashions were something that many people asked for me to continue showing. So, at least one day a week, I’ll have a post that consists of affordable fashions. Today, I’m showing you a casual style that you can wear at home or around town. Even though I’m wearing these items together, that doesn’t mean that this is the best way they should be worn. This is like a try-on haul, not a styling session.

The first item I’m showing you is this cozy leopard print crew-neck sweater. This sweater is very soft and comfortable, and it is very thick, especially for the price point. I love how the neckline, hem, and cuffs are a solid color, which contrasts nicely against the animal print. This sweater is a tad oversized, but I wish that it was even more relaxed. The medium that I’m wearing fits fine, but I would love to try a large one and see if it would give me the look I’m after.

I didn’t order any “affordable” jewelry for this post, but I think that I’ve worn my statement hoop earrings so much that I’ve gotten my money’s worth from them. This would be an example of how price isn’t a factor when it comes to being affordable. If you don’t pay much for something and never wear it, then that item was not affordable; it was a waste.

The multi-strand necklace that I’m wearing is two of the three strands of the Davis necklace. I like this necklace since you can remove the chains to create the look you want. I left the chains, but I took off the strand that had the colored stone.

These ultra-cozy high-performance leggings are so comfortable. They have a plush, fleece interior making them soft and cozy against your skin. And, they feature Go-Dry moisture-wicking technology that keeps you dry & comfortable. I love black leggings, and I own several in this color, but these also come in five other colors. I’m wearing a size large because I don’t like my leggings to fit too tightly.

These leopard print duck boots are super cute and very soft and warm. However, usually, I probably wouldn’t wear them with the leopard sweater. Instead, I would wear them with one of the sweaters below. I think that the boots are too cute to share the spotlight, so I would wear a solid sweater with them instead of a print.

Here is a close-up of the duck boots so you can see the print better. These boots are temperature rated -5F, have a memory foam insole, and are skid resistant.

Plus, look at that soft and cozy lining! These genuinely are warm and cozy, but I’m not going to test them out in -5 weather. I’ll be keeping my butt inside during that kind of weather. I’m wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great with enough room for a heavier sock.

I wanted to thank all of you for being so patient with me last week. I’m feeling much better now, and I finally put on makeup. And, I was smarts enough to take a lot of photos of several different outfits. I will try and do better about having a post of two ahead for times like those.

  1. I really like your outfit. I went to Old Navy to try on the leggings and bought them. So comfortable and the size L fits just right. They were out of the top and I noticed also sold out online. But I have other sweaters to wear with them. They’re perfect for the cold weather here in Iowa!

  2. Cutest duck boots ever !! Just ordered !! 😊

  3. I liked today’s outfit and your options as I too believe a little leopard goes a long way but I would never look the way you do in the outfit. I am taller and the sweater is not long enough for me to wear with leggings (50 might not be old but I don’t have the legs for it). But for someone average height, 😍.

    Glad you are feeling better.

I hope you get better soon. I enjoyed the post, but your idea of affordable was a little off the mark with the cream cable knit sweater. Beautiful, but a lower price point would be helpful. Loved all the other outfits!

    1. Anita, the cream sweater was from a post in November. The sweater wasn’t part of the “affordable” fashions, it was simply an example of wearing the duck boots with a different look.

  5. Love the off white/white tunic sweater but the price is not affordable for me. sad!!!

  6. Catherine Alves says:

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Love the post today already ordered the duck boots, also thinking of the leopard sweater not to wear together lol. Have a great day.

    1. Catherine, I hope you like the duck boots, I think they are super cute.

  7. It’s not so much that I like affordable fashion but it’s all I can afford. LOL. I love the top and pants.Get it in bigger. I like slouchy sometimes. Slouchy can be totally cool.

  8. I am actually wearing these leggings right now. Last year’s color. I have two pairs and they’re perfect for the snow.

  9. We’re all grown women here, Tania, and we can certainly empathize with you during your illness. Don’t feel like you have to apologize, at least not to me! I love animal print, but I read recently that, while it’s not going to go away, it will recede somewhat. Do you agree? (I’ll still wear it. It’s so sophisticated!). Take care.

  10. Donna Ebner says:

Okay — do you have a method that works to store and categorize (I guess?) your leggings? I tend to mostly buy black ones, and then can never find “the thick ones” or “the thin ones”, or whatever I want. SO frustrating. So glad you’re feeling better. Thanks for the affordable post.

  11. Glad you are feeling better! I loved the post today!

  12. Low the inexpensive post. Keep um coming.

  13. Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Cute outfits today. The duck boots are adorable! I’m upstate New York in the Catskills and we are getting plenty of snow! It’s still coming down as I type. Winters not over so maybe you’ll get some soon.❄️☃️

  14. Glad you are feeling better! I wore this outfit from my closet last week, minus the duck boots. I wore black suede knee high boots.

  15. So glad you’re feeling better!
And you did a totally great job last week even tho you were sick! Absolutely no need to apologize. Next time just post that you’re sick and we’ll just wait for you to get well!

  16. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I am the opposite of you. I am not a fan of snow. A couple of weeks ago we got about 2 feet in one day. Then a couple days later another 6 inches. I was glad to finally see the rain to wash it all away!! Love the boots. So cute and cozy looking. They were out of my size already. Darn! I find such cute items in places I don’t shop a lot from you.

  17. Ginger Hiller says:

Tania, Do you have a regular or tall in the leggings? I plan on ordering them. And those duck boots are so dang cute! I’m happy to know that you are feeling better this week!

  18. Glad you are feeling better.
    Those boot slook so cosy.

  19. I’m soooo glad you’re feeling better!

  23. Are your leggings tucked in, scrunched, or rolled up with the boots? BTW-I LOVE those boots!

  27. Stanley Hopfensperger says:

I am glad you are better. But, you needn’t apologise for being sick and not having a backup blog. Just makes me like you all the more for showing your human side. Jacqueline

    1. Jacqueline, I realize that vacations and sick days aren’t something I’m prepared for. So, it is something that I need to work on.

    1. Now you’re making me blush. 🤣

  32. Loved hearing from you even without pictures of you, your voice is what I love most about you!

    1. That’s so sweet. 😊 Thanks, Mary.

  33. Glad you are feeling better, Tania! I enjoy your affordable fashion posts. I especially like how you combine inexpensive and more expensive items together.

    1. Thanks, Susan. In real life, combining price points is something I do everyday.
