A SWEATER VEST FOR FALL IS VERSATILE AND FASHIONABLE
This is the time of year when we start looking to transition our wardrobe for fall. We don’t go from tank tops and shorts to jeans and flannel shirts overnight; instead, we incorporate a few items that will work for summer and fall. Today I’m showing you how you can style a sweater vest for fall and how this versatile piece is great for a transition piece.

Who would have ever thought that a sweater vest would become a trend? I like a sweater vest because it keeps my core warm while allowing my arms to be free and unencumbered. This Mocha Sweater Vest has extended shoulders, and this works great for someone looking for ways to create a waist. I love the v-neck design since it allows the vest to be worn with button-downs or a tee like I’m wearing here. The vest is a cotton blend fabric and is a tad oversized. I’m wearing a medium, but I think a small would have been a better fit. I recommend sizing down one size if you want a slim fit.

Since I mentioned wearing the vest with a tee, the one I’m wearing is part of a 2-pack. I ordered the Black/Salmon tee version because black goes with everything, and I wanted the salmon tee to go with the puffer jacket I ordered. I’ll include the jacket below because it is adorable in person. I think the tees also ran big; I’m wearing a medium, which is very oversized. A small would have been a better choice for me.
Women’s and Plus size Puffer Jacket

I’ve been wearing a belt more often because it makes an outfit look more polished. Even though you only see a small portion of my belt, it makes the entire outfit look finished. I prefer belts that give you options where you can choose the size you need, and this Double Prong Belt works great. The belt comes in women’s and plus sizes and is also available in black. I’m wearing a large, and that size works for me.

High Rise Straight Leg Jeans are another fall trend. I love straight-leg jeans; they are flattering for most women and can be worn with all types of shoes and boots. These are high-rise, but I’m warning you that low-rise jeans are trying to make a comeback. I love the fit and look of these jeans; I’m wearing the medium wash color in size 8, and they fit true to size.

Mules are another fall trend. Mules are a style I’ve had a hard time embracing, but I actually like the chunky heel style mules I’ve seen this fall. This Croc-Embossed Mule is comfortable, and I love the effortless slip-on style. The shoes are available in other colors and run true to size.

I liked the look of the sweater vest with jeans for a casual and relaxed look, but I also wanted to style it with pants for a work outfit. Clothing that is versatile and can be worn in multiple ways is what I look for when I’m shopping. I like to know that I can wear something in more ways than one, so I feel like I am getting my money’s worth.

This is a casual work outfit that I would have worn while working outside the home, and I think the sweater vest looks great with these pants. To dress the outfit up, you can add a long sleeve top or a blazer, and the outfit looks professional.

These Plaid Pull-On Pants look and feel great. The pants look professional enough to wear to the office, but they are comfortable also. These are a straight-leg style, and you can wear these pants with a blouse or a sweater for different looks. I’m a fan of plaid, so I love this look, but they are also available in navy. I think these run true to size, I’m wearing a medium, and they fit great.

I added these 5″ Shaft Ankle Boots in black to give the outfit a dressier vibe. The higher shaft boot is a fall trend this year, and these affordable boots will look great with jeans and dresses and pants. These run true to size; I’m wearing my usual size 9.
You might have noticed that I styled several items that are trending for fall. You don’t have to spend a fortune to still look modern and trendy. I found several other fall styles for you, and I’ll put those below. Click on the photo, and it will take you straight to the item.

Just not liking the vest over a v neck tee shirt. I like both pieces, but not together. I would do something more substantial under the vest.
I love everything about this outfit, especially with the jeans only because that suits my lifestyle. I have ordered the vest since I’m all in on that trend. I don’t like reading that low rise jeans are starting to make a come back, and I’m hoping that sticking with the higher rise jeans won’t be a big no-no. As a 65 yr old with extra fluff, the last thing I won’t to do is draw attention to my mid section.
Jeans are what I wear most often. I do like having a few dress pants to wear for occasions when jeans aren’t appropriate.
