A SLENDERIZING LOOK
Happy HUMP DAY everyone! This week is flying by and it will be Christmas before you know it!!! I had a couple of you email me some Vegan recipes because of my yesterday’s post and I want to be sure to thank you. I am not a horrible cook but I just can’t seem to find the time or energy to cook much anymore. I think there was a question I saw someone post on FaceBook once that asked, “if you could either have a house cleaner or a personal chef which one would you choose?”
I would probably choose the chef. My house only gets to one stage of disarray and it pretty much stays there. It is like my weight, I can lose 20 pounds and before you know it I have found it again. I can clean my house until it looks pretty good and by that night it will look almost the same as before. How can that be??? It is only Joe and me unless the little hurricane name Emersyn comes over, so how can we make so much of a mess? I should make keeping my house clean a New Year’s Resolution but I know that I would be wasting my time. Lol! I would have a much better chance of getting a chef but that is a long shot. Who am I kidding, that is a “never gonna happen” shot. Lol!!! Instead, I guess I need to put some thought into what my resolution is going to be. I would love to hear any ideas that you might have.
Talk about a simple outfit that still looks great. Today is my laid back, run around town type outfit. This is something that would be great for going shopping because it is comfortable and it is also warm. The marbled looking gray vest provides plenty of warmth but it is not bulky. Anything that fits close to the body will be warmer than something that hangs loose. If I was getting cold from getting in and out of the car I could just zip this up and it would be perfect. Of course, if we are talking below zero or extended walking in the cold then you would need a coat over the top of this. The vest also mimics the same figure flattering style that a cardigan will do. They hide the lumps and bumps and help to create a waistline that might be expanding over the holidays.
The silver jewelry just pops off of the black background. I love the Sam earrings. I like how they hang and how they will catch your attention with movement. They are not for the faint of heart since they have a 3.5″ drop. I love the Abigail necklace. It is the shorter one with the silver knots. The long cross necklace is the Lizzy. It actually comes with a material tassel attached but I took it off after seeing my mom do that. I like it much better this way. Lol! My two bracelets are the Maggie and the Flora. The Maggie is the two small silver beads on an elastic band and the Flora is the large link silver bracelet with the large pearls. The Flora is adjustable up to 11 inches long.
A black turtleneck shirt should be in everyone’s closet, even mine. You know that I am not normally an all black fan but I love how this outfit looks together. The black turtleneck is something that you can wear with so many things, under dresses, cardigans, vests, blazers, or just by itself that you will get your moneys worth from this purchase. This is one that I bought years ago from Old Navy. I bought black, gray and maroon all at the same time and I have worn them over and over. The black leggings are Ponte knit pants. These are thicker and nicer than normal leggings, these are just very tight pants. Lol! The only thing that I don’t like about this pair is that because of the elastic waist they will ride down and I am all the time yanking them back up. Don’t even get me started on what shows if I bend over without something long on, like this vest. Nobody wants to see that. Hahaha
On Saturday’s post, I decided to share with everyone reason number 1 that I think you should join me in my Rodan + Fields business and then Monday I shared reason number 2, and yesterday I shared reason number 3. Today I am sharing my next reason:
Reason number 4. Perks, perks, and more perks!!! I am not even talking about a commission or the fantastic skincare products that you will be able to purchase at cost. I am talking about gifts and rewards. There are programs and incentives to help you set goals along the way. I have already earned a trip and a Spa treatment this coming January on Lake Oconee in Georgia. I have earned the Amazon Echo and Dot and I will be receiving my next reward in the mail any day. It is a $1000.00 shopping spree at Nordstroms!!! Woohoo! This is a fashion bloggers dream. AND, I am trying to qualify for an even bigger prize by the end of this month. Of course, I still have that white Lexus in my sights. This is not something that is unreachable, it is a goal. It is a perk! Let’s talk, what would it hurt?
This is also something I WANT and NEED: I have added a subscription button to the blog, right under the recent posts tab. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to sign up. You will then be notified by email when a new post is made.

Good morning and Merry Christmas to ALL and a Happy New Year 2018!!
Tania, you look gorgeous, today! On my monitor your accessories look lavender! YOU make me want to be a fan of gray! Unless it’s a charcoal gray I can’t wear it….. washes me right on out! Your jewelry is fabulous, too!
I’m SO excited for You and your family that Miss Ashleigh is coming home for The Holidays!
Just know you’re going to have a blast!
Have a beautiful day! Stay warm! God’s blessings!
I bought the Lizzy necklace after.seeing you wear it. The tassel bothered me so I thinned it out by cutting off several strips of.fabric from the middle. It looks much better and the cross shows better.
Hi Tania. I just love reading your blog! You have great style. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I’m trying to find a R+F regimen that’s right for me, I think I need all of it! What to do, what to do!!!
Mary, that is funny but I know what you mean. Lol! I’ll send you an email and talk to you about it.
Love your outfit! I love a black turtleneck, during the winter when I’m stumped on what to wear, I’ll throw that black turtleneck on , usually with a scarf, jeans and a cute jacket and I’m on my way…lol…..it always works! My New Years resolution is to get out and walk more, my hubby and I walked 1.5 miles every evening for two weeks when we were away on vacation, and we never gained a pound….and we did not deprive ourselves by no means….so I know it works, just have to do it! ?
Kathy, it is really super easy and really chic. That is my kind of outfit! I am going to have to start walking again too.
You look amazing! Love everything about the outfit! Classy and sassy!
I would love to have a chef! I don’t enjoy cooking and do it only out of necessity! Ha!!
One of my resolutions is to revamp my wardrobe! I worked in HR before retiring and I always felt good about the way I dressed….not so much any more!
Well, I can’t help you with the chef part, but stick with me and I’ll help with the revamping of the wardrobe. Lol!
Great outfit but all the gray looks purple on my screen. My computer?? Have a great day!
The boots do go more toward the purple side but the other items are really gray.
My resolution is to eat healthy…..notice I didn’t say diet? I am preparing my mental shift!!! I especially like the purse in your post. Gray seems to be the new black. I have been looking for a nice gray purse but find they are too large (I’m petite) or too heavy. So I’m still looking. Pretty but very practical outfit! I could see me wearing this on a Saturday. Best Kathy
It really is so much a mindset that we need to change.
Love the outfit!
Thanks, Ramona!
Great combo Tania and you look good in black. The cross necklace is my favorite. This is definitely an outfit I would wear. I have a ton of vest considering I now have hot flashes and a vest is a great layering piece that can replace a heavy coat depending on the weather. I am so fortunate!!! I do have a Chef….my beloved hubby. I honestly do not have to lift a finger to prepare a meal…..However!!! ?, my husband has a Maid….ME and believe me, when my husband cooks, he uses ever pot, pan, bowl, utensil, etc. possible so this Maid has her work cut out for her…including cleaning the house. I joke about this but it keeps me active and my weight down so I’m learning to take the good with the bad. ~Lisa~
I love the cross without the tassel too. I don’t wear a vest often because most of them feel too bulky and I don’t want additional bulk around my middle but this one seemed to make me appear thinner. Lol! I am not sure if the hubby cooking is worth the mess and cleanup. Haha!
