50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40I loved all of the comments that some of you ladies left on the blog yesterday. They made me happy to think that a small idea several years ago has come to fruition and my purpose of helping women gain confidence through fashion has worked. I even got a couple of emails where you shared some intimate details with me, and that made me cry. They were happy tears because it made me realize that you think of me as a friend, not just a website. 50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40Now, let me tell you what YOU have done for me. You have brought me out of my shell and given me more confidence than I ever had before. I always dressed pretty much the same, but just like some of you mentioned, I would get in a rut. I would catch myself wearing the same things over and over again, mostly because I was too lazy to branch out and try something new. Now I look at a piece of clothing and will think, “I’ve worn that before so this time I need to change it up some.” I love this, I am helping you, and you are helping me. Isn’t that what we should all be doing for each other?50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40 This poncho is old, and I have worn it before on the blog. I wore this in October of 2015, not long after I started the blog and you won’t believe how different it looked on that post. The colors are different, the poncho was worn on a diagonal, and I had pink hair, and I can’t believe you ladies still followed me after some of my earlier posts. Lol! I am glad that I looked back at the post so that I could see where this poncho came from since I couldn’t remember.

50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40The pearl and rhinestone cross is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, and it came from Cato Fashions about three years ago. Make sure that you always check out the jewelry department in all of the stores that you shop. Sometimes there are cute things, but a lot of the time it is just cheap jewelry. This necklace was cheap as far as the price, but it was very substantial in material, and it still looks just as good today as it did three years ago. The bracelet is one that I bought at a vintage fashion show. Remember, when you find a piece of jewelry at a yard sale that it will look different with an outfit than it does thrown in a pile with a bunch of junk. 50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40These are the same suede over the knee boots that I wore in yesterday’s post. I thought that you might want to see them from the back. I laughed when I saw the picture because the boots are bunched around my ankles. What kind of diet do you go on to lose weight in your calves? Lol! These are supposed to be at least 3 or 4 inches higher on my leg than they are, but I love them anyway. Hahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40 I added my red pencil skirt to the look to add some color. I love this color palette, it is classic, and it is stylish. This entire outfit is kind of like that, parts of it are classic, and then the other parts are stylish trends. You can mix your styles, and you don’t have to be contained to only one way of dressing.

50 IS NOT OLD | A PENCIL SKIRT AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | FASHION OVER 40I talked about confidence and how much the blog has helped me to come out of my shell. The other part of that journey has been my Rodan + Fields business. I never thought that wanting better-looking skin would make such an impact on my life, but the change has been remarkable. My skin looks the best it ever has, I look younger than I did three years ago when I started the blog, and my confidence level has soared. I am not the only one who feels this way, I want to show you, Ashleigh Bowers, and if you are interested in reading about her journey of gaining confidence and independence, then go here

  1. Another amazing look! Yes you have come a long way and look classier and younger

  2. Tania,
I refer to you as my friend all the time!! I feel like I know you and that we would be good friends if we were to actually meet. I will say “my friend Tania” said this or that or wore a certain outfit. My husband wondered who I was talking about since he never knew that I had a friend named Tania. Now he knows.
