A NEUTRAL MONOCHROMATIC OUTFIT THAT IS PERFECT FOR SUMMER

It sure looks like I am on top of the world in this photo. The truth is, I am only a few feet off of the ground, but that is an example of how things aren’t always as they appear. The same can be said of how a person looks in a photo. Depending upon the angle of the camera or the person’s position, you can look heavier or thinner than you actually are. If only

we could figure out a way to have that filter follow us around all day long. Lol! I would need a “hazy” lens to blur any of my imperfections, and a “skinny” lens would be nice for the extra 20 pounds that I seem to lose and find constantly. And, if I were really lucky, then I would have the “wisdom” lens that shown brightly on me so that I was wise and knowledgeable.

Alas, there is no real-life lens except for what you wear when you look at yourself in the mirror. Be kind to yourself, you are beautiful exactly the way you are, and you don’t need a FAKE lens turning you into something that you aren’t. Smile because in the words of the wise woman, Mary Poppins, you are “practically perfect in every way!”

Don’t ask me what brought on that message; I never know what will come out of my fingers when I sit down to type. Lol! Most of you know that I am a color-loving kind of girl. But I also love a good neutral monochromatic outfit, and today’s look gets a big thumbs up from me. I actually love everything about this look, even though the colors are very beige. Haha!

I am not sure that I’ve ever worn a mesh sweater on the blog until yesterday, and here I am, styling another one today. I told you yesterday that the mesh sweater style was trending! This mesh long sleeve sweater is in the color clay, and I actually like this neutral shade. I think I like this sweater even better than the blue and white striped sweater that I wore yesterday.

The wide trim on the v-neck, the cuffs, and the hem is a detail that I like a lot. The sweater is a nice length that you can wear with leggings since it will cover your bottom.

Here is a photo from the back to give you an idea of how long the sweater will be. I am wearing a size large in the sweater, and I love the loose fit of the sweater. I am wearing a neutral tank that I bought from Chicos last year. The exact one that I am wearing is not available, but here are three versions that would work for this top. If I want the tank to be a slim fit for wearing under a shirt, I buy a size 1. But, if I want to wear the tank by itself, I order a size 2 to show any of my lumps.

I just keep wearing these neutral espadrilles wedges with the chevron stripes! I love how these sandals will go with almost anything, and I think they look great with this outfit. These shoes do run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

My mother is a hoot! I think this little wicker satchel is too cute, but she thinks it looks like a fishing bag. Lol! Now that she has said that, I can’t help but think of that every time I see the satchel. Haha! Who agrees that this is a cute bag for summer, or who thinks I need to grab my fishing pole and head to the river?

I am not sure what color these straight-leg pants are; the name is Merzouga. I think they are a pale banana color, just slightly yellowish, but a great neutral. I’ve worn these jeans several times since I bought them, and the color is just as much the reason as the fit.

I am a huge fan of this style of jeans, but it hasn’t grown on Joe yet. He comments about the fit every time that I wear them. I am hoping that they grow on him because they sure are comfortable!!! I am wearing my usual size 10 in the jeans, and I love the slightly loose fit.

I did add a few jewelry items, and I bet that doesn’t surprise you at all. The earrings are Rylan hoops, the long multi-strand necklace is the Davis, but I am only wearing two of the three strands. My bracelets are the Fallyn cuff bracelet and the Rebecca stretch bracelet in white howlite. I think that jewelry finishes an outfit and is what makes it look put together.
