A CLASSIC BLAZER AND JEANS
Have you gurls seen those countdown clocks? You know, the clocks where you put in a date and a time and the clock shows you how many days and how many hours it is until the event finally arrives. I need to have about three of those clocks all going at the same time. Lol! I want to put in the date that my daughter will finally be coming home. I want to put in Thanksgiving and Black Friday, and I want to put in Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
I need Thanksgiving in so that I can remember to go to the store and make out my grocery store list. Lol! I need Black Friday in it so that I can have my Christmas list made out and ready to go so that I can take advantage of all the fantastic savings that whole weekend. I need Christmas Eve plugged in so that I can make sure that I have all of my gifts bought and wrapped and I need Christmas Day in so that I can countdown to spending the day with my family and enjoying all of the festivities associated with Christmas. The clock for my daughter is a different matter. I would just like to know the date that she is going to get here. So far, all I can get out of her is that her friend Andy has to be back in Seattle by the 18th and that is all that is set in stone. Since she was in Utah the last time I spoke to her, she doesn’t seem to be moving at a very rapid pace. But, I can tell you that the photos that I have seen are really amazing and it is making me sad that I missed out on the trip. I think that I am now going to have to go west and at least go and see the Redwoods. Those were mindblowing!!!
I love a classic blue jacket/blazer and I think it should be a staple in everyone’s closet. This is an old as the hills jacket but I still drag it out year after year. This one is linen and it is starting to look a little faded but with the distressed trend still going strong, I figured that I could just act like it was supposed to look like that. Lol!!! A jacket like this can be worn with jeans, dresses, skirts, shorts, and pants. In other words, you can wear this with almost anything. Since this one is so old I decided to go shopping for you and I found some jackets that I think would work great for you…..you’re welcome. Lol!
If you saw my post yesterday then you know that I have loved leopard print items for a long time. I also am really fond of the tortoiseshell print probably because they are very similar in color. Today I am combining the two prints. The Joanie earrings and the Maren necklace are both in the tortoiseshell print but the Rochelle cuff bracelet is in a leopard print. AND, just to keep things interesting, I also added a tiger eye rectangle ring called McCall to the mix. What do you think about wearing these patterns together? Remember that countdown clock for Christmas and start your shopping early. Plunder has amazing jewelry at very affordable prices. Go here to shop and please pick a party with my name in it.
If you are going to wear an old as the hills blazer then you might as well some old jeans too. These are a pair that is several years old and they are by Earl jeans. I think that I bought this pair at a Marshall’s or a TJ Maxx but I can’t be sure. I liked them because they have a huge amount of give to them and were great for traveling, overeating, and stuffing them into knee boots. None of those things were happening at this moment but I am prepared just in case. Hahaha!
I could have added any color top to this look. Literally, any color top works since everything else is dark blue. I chose to wear a camisole tank top in a taupe color that had a navy placket down the front. This is an older top that I bought at Kohls and it is by Vera Wang.
I am starting to make my naughty and nice list for Christmas. All of the “nice” lists will receive something from Rodan + Fields and the “naughty” list will receive something from Lucy. Lol!!! I am just kidding about the naughty list but not so much about the nice list. There is no nicer gift to give that amazing skin and lashes. Rodan + Fields also has a few Holiday Gift Sets that are now available and for every Gift Set ordered during the month of November, YOU will receive a $10 Starbucks Gift Card from me! This is a special offer for my Preferred Customers only. THANK YOU for your support and allowing me to help you with your skincare needs!

I just love this whole outfit! The way you paired the different jewelry w the cute blazer and that really eye-catching cami just makes the outfit pop! I wish I had all of those pieces! I cant believe you didnt get to take the road trip w your daughter! I have been wondering why you hadn’t left yet!
Looks like you are going to be extremely busy until Christmas ?. I know you must be over the moon to know your daughter will be home soon.
Great look!! Plain (not patterned) neutrals can be so elegant. I love the casual simplicity of this ensemble. One can’t go wrong with repeating ones eye color and hair color in their outfits. The leopard printed accessories add just the right amount of interest in this understated look.
My wardrobe also has a few treasures that I’ve saved and I’ve been very lucky to have inherited a few jackets from my Mom.
My bad … “There’s AN app for that!”
Another fabulous look! And did you know “There’s a app for that!” I use the Dream Days app for countdowns!
Sally, thanks! I am going to have to check that out!
Tania,
You look fabulous! I love a well-fitting blazer and it’s a piece I go to all the time! You should plan a trip to California. The redwoods truly are amazing. You can skip San Francisco, though. It’s overpriced and filthy. Really too bad because it used to be a wonderful city to visit.
Thanks for doing the shopping for us. I always appreciate the links!
Connie, I do plan on visiting the redwoods after seeing my daughter’s pictures! And, I think that I am going to San Francisco in January. LOL!!! It will be a Rodan + Fields corporate trip so I am not sure how much sightseeing would be involved.
You look terrific in this outfit. It’s my style too. Comfy and put together at same time. I’m still trying to get prepared for Thanksgiving let alone Christmas. Good luck with your countdowns.
I like thinking ahead. Lol! Thinking is all I usually do though.
You look amazing!…at least 10 years younger in today’s blog!!!! Good luck with all your deadlines.
Awww, thanks so much, Judy!!! I love that comment. Lol!
This is a perfect example of how great fit, quality and classic style can last for years! It is hard to find and priceless when you do. You look great in this!
Janet, you are so right. I love how this blazer fits!
My favorite style is timeless classic pieces. It’s great to pull something out of the closet years later, and it is still in style. In fact, I just styled a blazer on the blog this week. You look great in your faded blazer.
You make everything look adorable though! ?
My biggest regret is giving away my blazer. My weight fluctuates quite dramatically and when It would no longer fit I passed it on. How I miss that blazer. It was just the right weight and had just the right feel to it. Still looking years later for a replacement.
Haha! I do that too, Jill. I will give something away and then spend years looking for something just like it. Lol!
