Friday did not turn out at all like I thought it was going to. It all started normal enough but everything started changing very early in the morning. First, I got to talk to Joe’s sister for about an hour since we hardly ever talk on the phone. When we talk it is always a talkathon. Lol! That must have set the tone for the day because I was on the phone pretty much most of the day. I didn’t even bother trying to go into work, I am normally off on Friday’s anyway, but I thought since my family is coming up next week that I would take off then. I did call in though and made sure that everyone knew what to do. Maybe they are kicking me out the door sooner than I thought. Lol!
I feel like bursting out in song today and I think that I am going to sing a popular tune from the play “Annie.” Yes, the Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow, or in this case, today. Lol! I am soooooo happy to see the sun shining that I don’t even care if I am having to squint to see. The sun has come out just in time also since I have plans for this weekend and the upcoming week. I am having company, and, not just any company. My son and his family from Tennessee are coming to visit!!!
Have I mentioned that I have started the process of training my replacement at work? I am finally going to bite the bullet and really start working from home. But, before that can happen, I need to make sure that everything is taken care of and that everybody is trained. The only way that I know to do that is by looking over their shoulder as I instruct them how to do it once and then to let them do it the rest of the time. Then I just sit and twiddle my thumbs while they finish the task.
Have you ever had one of those days? The one that won’t end and nothing will go right? Welcome to my world! I have a BIG sponsored post coming up in the next week and I am stressing because I had to get my pictures taken today, get the post written, and submit it in order to meet a deadline. The problem is that my laptop computer has picked today to start going haywire on me. Nothing wants to download and I keep getting error messages. And then, I had to ask Joe to take my photos for me. Gurls, you really need to put me on the prayer list that we don’t strangle each other before this process is over.
Don’t you wish life was all rainbows and unicorns? With all of the rain that we have been getting (rain every day until Friday), I should have a ton of gold by now. All I would have to do is follow the rainbows with my shovel. The unicorns seem to be a little more elusive and so far I have never found one nor have I found any rainbow-colored droppings. Joe, who has a unique way with words, always says, “in ten years this will all be funny.”
Joe and I had a fabulous time on our “date night” away this past weekend. We are the worst for “talking” about doing something but never actually doing it. We went to the Biltmore in Asheville, NC for my 50th birthday and loved the place. We planned to go back again, especially to go and watch the drum circle. I am now 58 years old and we have never been back. As I said, we are talkers but not doer’s. I think that in the old west it might have been something like, “big hat, no cattle.” Lol!!!
It has been raining off and on for the past few days here in Virginia. Let me re-phrase that, it has been a monsoon off and on for the past few days. The kind of rain that is blowing sideways and where the gutters can’t hold it all so it overflows like a waterfall. And then it will stop for about an hour and the sun will shine so brightly for a little while. Then comes the rain again.
I hope you have a lot of plans for this Saturday. Joe actually surprised me and made us a reservation at the Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City for tonight. He NEVER does things like that but he heard me talking about how nice the Carnegie was and how much I liked the looks of downtown Johnson City. I told him that I would love to just go and explore downtown and see what it had to offer.
Look, Ma, I am on top of the world!!! Okay, so I am not on top of the world nor am I on board the Titanic. For those who haven’t seen the movie, Titanic, that was a famous line in the movie. The main character was standing with his hands spread wide and says those words. That, of course, has nothing to do with my blog post and is not relevant in any way. Lol!!! Unfortunately, this is how my brain works and I can’t change it or I would. Hahaha!!
Did you very carefully and slowly open up this blog post? Hahaha! I can totally understand your hesitation. Do you remember that lady on Facebook that went viral for saying, “ain’t nobody got time for that?” That is how I feel about the title of this blog post. “Ain’t nobody wanting to see that!” Lol!!! However, before this post is over, I am going to be asking YOU to go naked also.
